Who: Freya and Klaus
What: Klaus is not pleased with his sister
When: 4 April, following this
Where: Their house
Warnings: Low
Status: Log | Complete

To say Klaus wasn’t happy with his sister was a bit of an understatement. Of course he was relieved and happy that he had woken from her coma. The entire time she was in it he had done whatever he could to help Evie find the ingredients. But he was not pleased that Freya had put him through that. There were better ways to handle dream crossovers besides putting yourself in a fucking coma.

Now that the relief of Freya being okay had somewhat worn off Klaus was left with just his stubborn anger. As soon as he had a moment alone with his sister, without the girlfriend that had let her put herself into a coma, Niklaus took advantage of it. “That was a bit of a rash decision you made, sister,” Klaus commented bitterly.

Of course Klaus was going to be angry about something he couldn’t control. Nor was it like she’d had time to properly explain everything. She had simply done what was needed to be done in order for her to survive. The trick would be getting Klaus to actually realize that fact. Not that she’d been anticipating the ambush when she’d left her room to get more water.

Which was why she just sighed.

“Is that so?”

Might as well let him get it out and then point out why it actually was the only real solution to the problem at hand when there had been no way to tell just how long the poison had already been in her system thus meaning not knowing if there would have even been time to get a second opinion or even wait for an ambulance.

Klaus was in no mood for Freya’s remarks. What she did was serious and he was not happy about it. “Yes, Freya,” Klaus snapped. “Putting yourself into a coma is never the answer.” Niklaus didn’t care about the circumstances of the dreams. Or what Freya thought was right. She hadn’t consulted him and had put him through hell for a week. He was not going to allow that to happen again.

It took all of her self control not to roll her eyes at the assertion and Klaus snapping at her. Still, she did manage it, even if she really wasn’t looking forward to however this conversation might go. Because it was clear he was in a mood because it was a reminder that he couldn’t control everything no matter what he might like to think. That sometimes things just happened that he had no say in because of whatever reason that had nothing to do with whether or not she trusted him.

“This time it was. There was no way to know how long the poison had been in my system before I had woken up from the Dream.”

Honestly she would prefer not using that spell but if it was the only way to ensure she didn’t die? Well, so be it.

“This is why you shouldn’t be spending any more nights out of this house.” What if she got shot again? Evie wouldn’t be able to save her. And there would be no more decisions made without Klaus’s knowledge. Because you could sure as hell bet Klaus was going to be watching his sister like a hawk. “Your girlfriend can stay here.” No more nights at Evie’s place.

Now that gave Freya pause and she pinched the bridge of her nose and slowed her breathing. She knew where this was coming from - of course she did. But she also wasn’t about to be kept in a tower and only let out for work because Klaus’ concern had an annoying habit of manifesting itself in controlling behavior.

“I get you were worried and upset that I didn’t have time to reach out to you to let you know what was going on, but that doesn’t mean you get to dictate where I go or when, Niklaus.”

She’d had enough of that with Dahlia and while the reasoning was different and Freya knew that, she also wasn’t able to ignore the similarities. She acquiesced when Klaus demand she stay home after Dream crossovers instead of go to work. She dealt with it. But this was something else because sometimes she needed a break. Or she would get a feeling, like she needed to be somewhere else where her magic was necessary (or to reassure herself that Finn was alive and not dead like the Dreams as had been why she’d gone there even before dreaming of it).

“I’m here most nights as it is. But sometimes I want to stay with one of our brothers, or just want to spend time with Evie. Alone or just end up staying because of the time. My actions would have been the same no matter where I was.”

All the brothers were vampires. And Freya did have a vial of his blood. But Klaus still wasn’t having it. With how much the dreams seemed to hurt her, he wanted his sister with him every time she slept. It was the only way he knew he could protect her.

“Evie can come here,” he said again a growl in his tone. “I will give you your space.” He never interrupted them before. Freya was free to sleep with whoever she wanted. As long as they didn’t hurt her Niklaus wasn’t going to stand in their way. But he needed to know she was safe. “Have your alone time here. I am not going through that again. I’m not losing you!” he bellowed at his sister in his demanding way. Klaus was not about to back down on this one.

It was a good thing that Freya was not easily intimidated, so she didn’t even react to the growl in his voice except to do a flick of her wrist to ensure that any raised voices were not heard by Evie given the fact she’d barely slept in the week she’d been looking for the necessary ingredients. But really now.

“And you’re not going to lose me, though I will need another vial of your blood since I had to use the one you gave me for the spell.”

It wasn’t like the blood would help with poison. If she woke up shot at Evie’s? Sure. But poison made by sociopathic elitist vampires? Of course not.

“You did what?!” Klaus demanded his eyes full of anger. It was fine that she used the blood. He had given it to her to keep her safe. However the fact that she didn’t even bother to tell him? “And when were you planning on telling me this?” he spat. Obviously he knew that Freya had just woken up only hours ago. But still this was something he should have known about.

Lord grant her the patience of Elijah. Because Freya was about ready to snap her brother’s neck at this point and she’d only been conscious for a couple of hours. The whole point of her having the vial of blood was for if she wasn’t near him or one of their brothers if something happened.

Of course he was missing the fact that there had been no time to give him all the information at the time. Hell, she would have probably died trying to deal with his questions while doing set up for the spell had he been there. Calm. She just needed to remain calm. God she didn’t have the energy for this right now.

“The spell required me to be anchored to someone who was powerful and immortal so that no matter how long it took for Evie to find the ingredients, or for Elijah to start dreaming and get the antidote from the dreams, the poison wouldn’t kill me.”

Yes the blood was for her use. Especially if it was going to save her. But still a heads up that she had used it would have been nice. Like as soon as she woke up. Just in case he was gone and she needed his blood. Not that he planned on leaving her anytime soon. As it was Klaus grabbed another vial from the drawer (yes he had a drawer of vials. It came in handy.) He was already biting into his wrist and letting it bleed into the vial.

“You were anchored to me?” Klaus repeated anger still in his voice. “And no one thought to tell me this?” Good thing he was nearly impossible to kill. Especially since there was no white oak around.

Freya went back to ignoring the anger since it usually was just easier that way when there wasn’t anything she needed to stand up for herself with. She honestly couldn’t remember if she’d told Evie about the linking herself to Klaus thing given the haze of getting everything together for the spell and it wasn’t like she was going to throw her girlfriend to Klaus’ anger after everything she’d done for her.

“I was and it’s a major part of why I’m alive.” She knew that between Evie and Klaus, they were the ones who saved her life given the whole poison thing. “I am sorry that it all happened so quickly that things were forgotten in the chaos because of the time constraints.”

“It’s not going to happen again,” Klaus said pleased with his sister’s apology. “Because you will be sleeping here from now on.” Where he would be around if any dream emergencies happened. Twice now it had happened while she was somewhere else and Klaus would be damned if that happened again.

There were just times where it was easier to just…. Stop fighting. Experience said that it would be about a week or so and Klaus would mellow out and if he didn’t, then she would once again put up a fight on the whole being expected to stay at the house except for work and things of that nature. For now though, Freya just wanted to get her water and head back to her room. So she’d just let it go for now. It was less of a headache that way.
