earbuds in, music turned up, Anakin ran the path through the park without thinking too much about anything. The playlist was perfectly match to how long he intended to run, and his route took him in a loop that would bring him back to his bike. He didn't have to think about anything. Mostly he thought about work or the song lyrics. He was definitely trying not to think of his encounter with Ahsoka that had left him with a black eye that was still healing.
Lost in the beat, he rounded the track and took the fork that edged the lake.
At first, he didn't even notice the excited running companion he picked up when he started along the lake, as the puppy joined him from behind. But the puppy jumped for the joy of it and that movement drew Anakin's attention and it drew him to a halt.
With a chuckle he looked around for an owner but as far as he could tell a phantom was walking this puppy at the end of that trailing leash.
"And lo," Anakin said to no one in particular, more for his amusement as he pulled out his earbuds and turned off his music. "Science beheld what it had created and saw that it was good - a living ball of floof." He laughed again and squatted down.
"Do you have a name, ball of floof?" He stretched out his left hand for the puppy to sniff as he reached for the leash with his right.
