Who: Lexi and Caroline
What: Spa day!
When: Late January, not long after Caroline moved back
Where: Spa
Rating/Warnings: Low/none
Status: Complete
Now that Caroline was feeling better she needed a day of pampering. Or well at least a few hours since she didn’t want to spend too much away from her mom. Especially since she had spent almost a whole week away. A facial, a massage, and a mani pedi seemed like the perfect way to spend the afternoon. And a great way to relax and prepare before she started her new job.
She hadn’t had time to hang out with Lexi since she had returned to Orange County. Bringing the other bubbly blonde with her seemed like the best idea. She met Lexi at the spa a smile on her face when she saw her old friend. “Ready for some pampering?”
Lexi would never say no to a spa day so when Caroline had suggested it, she’d jumped at the chance. It had been sometime since she’d seen the younger girl and was looking forward to catching up. Since Caroline was new to the dreams, Lexi had to be careful what she said or did around her, not wanting to freak her out before it was necessary. After all, there was no telling how she would react if she found out about the whole vampire thing too soon. Sure, Lexi could compel her to forget, but she didn’t like the idea of using compulsion against friends.
Reaching the spa, Lexi returned the smile and nodded, “More than ready. How’ve you been?”
“Pretty good minus the whole flu from hell thing. But the move back has been smooth.” So far at least. Especially now that Tyler had helped her unpack the rest of her stuff. “I’m definitely in need of some pampering after all that,” she gave Lexi a smile as they were ushered to the spa chairs for their pedicures. Caroline couldn’t wait to let her feet soak in that water. “How about you?”
“Seems like you’re feeling better now,” Lexi wondered if Caroline was referring to the most recent OC weirdness where some people had started getting sick. Lexi didn’t know exactly what had caused it, but she had heard that it might have been caused by the water so she was glad that she didn’t really need to drink water and had simply stuck to blood during the latest event, “I’ve been good. And I totally agree, I’m so in need of some pampering.”
“Is it super exhausting being on your feet all day?” She imagined Lexi’s feet got tired standing around being a princess all day. But the job still seemed like a great one. Who wouldn’t want to work at the happiest place on Earth?
Being a vampire, Lexi didn’t get tired the same way that humans did, but since Caroline didn’t know that yet, Lexi nodded. She’d gotten pretty good at pretending to still be human over the last couple of years, “Tell me about it. I love my job, but it’s a lot of standing.” She really did love her job, especially making little kids happy, “At least I get comfortable shoes as Rapunzel though.” She loved her heels and boots, but they wouldn’t be practical for a job like she had.
“Still,” Caroline commented. Comfortable shoes or not, that was a hell of a lot of standing. “Your feet totally deserve all the pampering,” she joked. “We might just have to make this a regular thing.”
“I will not argue with you on making this a regular thing,” She smiled at Caroline as she slipped her feet out of her sandals and got comfortable in the pedicure chair, “So what have you been up to now that you’re back?” It was a little strange to be hanging out with Caroline when she had spent the last couple of years watching her and Stefan in the dreams, from the Other Side.
“Not much,” Caroline replied honestly. “Just taking care of my mom mostly. Catching up with friends and going through the interview process.” No matter how confident Caroline was or how skilled she was, interviews were always intimidating. But now she had landed the job. It was just a matter of starting. “I start work in a few days.”
“That’s exciting. There’s a few other event and party planners on the Network, but considering we live in California, there’s no shortage of parties and events to plan.” Lexi enjoyed the feeling of the warm water and bath salts in the water as she let her feet soak, “However, anyone I know who needs an event planner, I’ll give them your name from now on.” Caroline was her friend so of course she had to give her the business if the opportunity arose.
“Thanks,” Caroline beamed. Recommendations were always appreciated after all. “I’m glad I came back.”
