I’m a Queen

Elsa had the vague feeling something was wrong. She’d just met this girl, she forgot why. Or where she was. Only that the raven-haired woman was glorious. Beautiful, with stunning blue eyes. And she couldn’t look away. She was, unfortunately, in love.
“Uhm.. Excuse me.” She smoothed her hand down her braid. “I think I love you.”
Wait, what just came out of her mouth?
The beautiful brunette with stunning blue eyes raised both of her eyebrows in response, looking just this side of annoyed at the comment. This was only the fifth time today that someone had declared their love for her, mostly people who were lonely and drunk due to the holiday.
Elsa, however, was a gorgeous woman herself. Women didn't normally hit on her, but she wasn't sure she was upset about it. In fact, Elizabeth felt her insides flutter around, and she didn't want to hurt this woman’s feelings. She tucked some hair behind her ear and nervously twitched at the sleeve covering the lightweight cast on her arm. "I... thank you? Uhm. Are you a fan of my work?"
It felt like she’d been shot with something, but there was no wound. Instead, Elsa just looked at Elizabeth like she was the sun. Brilliant and beautiful with a golden voice. She nodded enthusiastically. “I’ve listened to your album, it’s almost as beautiful as you are.”
Was it too soon to propose? Elsa wanted to but she wasn’t so far gone that she was a hypocrite.
"Oh, that's very sweet of you to say. I don't really think of myself as that beautiful... You're gorgeous, too, you know. I love that shade of lipstick on you. But I'm so glad you liked my music!" Elizabeth and Corvo had developed a hand gesture, something she could do that he'd be looking for so that he could come to her rescue. It was a necessary evil when out in public, as there were plenty of fans that were a little overzealous.
Maybe this should have been a time to use it, but Elizabeth wasn't sure. "Did you want an autograph or something?"
“I want to marry you,” Elsa blurted. In a week, she’d be utterly mortified, but right now she was earnest, as though confessing a great love, the kind you only read about in stories.
"I don't really think I'm gay enough for that..." Elizabeth replied, wincing a bit at her own delivery. "I'm very sorry, I'm just mainly attracted to men, and... right now, actually, a specific man, but I'm extremely flattered."
The air suddenly dropped 30 degrees. Then 45 degrees. Elsa clutched her chest, taking deep breaths. Once she calmed herself, the temperature returned to normal, and ice that had literally started to cover her skin slowly thawed.
“That’s okay! I can share!” No, she couldn’t, but she was desperate.
"Maybe you could, but I couldn't." Elizabeth responded, firmly. Part of her did notice the drop in temperature and the very brief layer of frost that had covered the other woman's skin. That reminded her of someone else... someone from a movie. Oh. Elsa, that Queen from Frozen? Could these be one and the same?
"It was so cold just a second ago, did you do that?" Maybe talking about her powers would distract Elsa from being crazy levels of in love with her.
“Yes.” It gave Elsa an idea. She held her hands, cupped together with palms facing up. A beautiful flower crystallized in ice, and she held it out to Elizabeth. “For you.”
She’d seemed harmless to Corvo’s watching eyes at first, but this was something else. Power like that could be dangerous. Ice lances, freeze the blood or the heart. His assassin’s mind could think of a hundred different ways. He moved closer, into Elizabeth’s field of view.
Elizabeth's eyes caught Corvo's, and she gave him a quick look of confusion. She was completely out of her league here, and had no idea what to do, though Elsa's powers were the least of her concerns. In fact, they fascinated her, and she reached a finger out to gently poke at the flower. "This is beautiful, and you have an amazing gift. But I can't accept it. Please understand, I like you, I just can't return your feelings the same way."
“You have to take it,” Elsa insisted, sounding a little desperate. She’d already ruined things with Ozma - though that had been more or less predestined by the fact that only one of them was the monogamous sort.
But she still blamed herself and didn’t want to lose Elizabeth either. Even if she’d never seen her before today. But it was destiny and love! “Please, it’s rude to turn down gifts.”
"Well, I don't want to be rude..." Elizabeth replied, wrinkling her brow in concern. She reached out her hands to take the gift, wondering how long it would last before it melted. "So I will accept it, but I can't date you, or marry you. Okay?"
As she took the flower, her hands made the assigned gesture, and she caught Corvo’s eyes. As well intentioned as Elsa’s actions were, there was something scary and creepy unnatural about them.
The flower would last forever. Or at least as long as Elsa was alive. It was that kind of magic. Part of her didn’t ever want to know what that meant for Olaf. She liked to think he’d outlive her.
“I’m a Queen,” Elsa blurted. “You can’t do better than that.”
Corvo swept in then, “All right that’s enough, miss.”
Elsa’s eyebrow quirked, and Corvo had to admit it was kind of attractive. She folded her arms, Elizabeth must be so cool to have a bodyguard.
"He's just looking out for my safety, I'm sure you understand. He also keeps me on task, and there's somewhere I need to be getting to!" Elizabeth hugged the precious ice sculpture against her, not really sure she should tuck it into a bag or something and not wishing it to break. "So thank you again, and good luck out there!"
She let Corvo take her arm, then, and start guiding her away from there. It wasn't necessarily the most tactful way to make an exit, but Elizabeth hoped the Queen would understand at some point in the future. Hopefully when she regained her senses.
“She’s attractive, but a little crazy,” Corvo commented. He was pretty sure there was more going on than met the eye, based on a quick perusal of the network. He let Elizabeth hook her arm through his. “I’m sure it’ll pass. Lets get you to your recording session.”
“Thank you,” Elizabeth replied. Corvo’s attraction to Elsa was something that bothered her, but she was shaken up enough at the moment not to give it too much thought. Especially in light of everything else. The ice flower that Elsa had crafted was cradled carefully against her with her broken arm, and she nodded down at it with her chin. “But all the same, could you keep this safe for me while I record? I think it might be special, no matter what’s going on.”
“Don’t even worry about it,” Corvo promised. He kept his own opinion to himself. “I’ll keep a good eye on it.”
