To say that Diana was born for a day like today was an understatement. While she'd come to enjoy punching bad guys, it was saving innocent people that she vastly preferred. So once the first earthquake hit, Diana was out the door and rushing to help who she could. With her superhuman strength, she could lift heavy pieces of buildings off of people, allowing them to get out if they could move under their own power. There were several people that she'd personally taken to hospitals because they couldn't make it on their own. A few she'd even stayed with until they were taken back to see a doctor. Then it was back to the streets to help others.
Diana had lost track of time as the day had gone on. She hadn't even paused to eat or rest, she simply continued helping. There was nothing that she could fight, though brief thoughts of punching the sun had crossed her mind, but she could help people. And that's what she needed to do to feel useful in the current situation. She wasn't dressed in her armor, though she was wearing her gauntlets. After all, one never knew when an army might appear. Especially with how things had become the past couple days, she didn't want to be completely unarmed if she could help it. But she wasn't going to run around Orange County in her armor with sword and shield in hand if there wasn't an army or something to fight.
So as it was, she simply focused on saving people. There were some she came across that she couldn't move because their injuries seemed too severe. So in those instances, she called for emergency people to come help. She stayed with them, offering them comfort before they were taken to the hospital for treatment.
After picking up part of a roof that had collapsed on a house, Diana held it while the family got out. However, despite the fact Diana held it up, she felt herself getting tired. She needed to rest, but she refused to rest while there were still people who needed help. Once the family was clear, she set the roof back down and drew in a deep breath as she slouched a bit. She felt a touch to her leg and she looked down to see the little girl she'd just helped save looking up at her.
"Are you a superhero?" She asked. Diana smiled at her and knelt down in front of her.
"I am to you, and that's what matters." She responded. Diana wasn't going to admit she was, but if the girl thought she was? She wasn't going to argue it.
"Thank you," she said before giving Diana a hug. Diana hugged her back gently. The girl was miraculously unharmed, but she still wished to be careful. After a few moments, the girl rejoined her parents and Diana stood up and continued on her way. She didn't get overly far before she felt a bit light-headed.
Diana leaned into a fence and closed her eyes. She felt like she could sleep an entire month right now. She'd done so much lifting and running today. Perhaps she'd overdone it, but she hadn't noticed. After all, she was a demigoddess, her dream self didn't seem to have a limit to her powers. But apparently Diana herself wasn't to that point yet. She was still gaining her abilities to some extent, and perhaps she was still human enough that she couldn't take much more exertion.
She tried to pull her phone out to call Kitty to see if she could come help her, but Diana instead collapsed to the ground unconscious. Exhaustion and a lack of food that day had caught up with her.
