As the woman scowled at having been insulted in such a way, Alex snorted in laughter. Her already cold pink cheeks turned a brighter shade and she took off down the slope, her delicate sensibilities shattered.
"Awww," Alex said, feigning guilt.
"Easy now, Grampa," Alex helped Leon steady himself on the snowboard, leaning back to dodge the flying cigarette missile.
"Well," he said, clutching invisible pearls as if to say I never. "Guess we'll see what you have to say at the bottom of the slope." And, with that, Alex began his own trek down the mountain. It was a beginner's slope, but it was still a mountain and there was, indeed, much arm windmilling. It was only when he bent his knees that he found any purchase.
