The first thing Freya was aware of was that she hurt. The second thing was that she was on...concrete? Blinking awake, the blonde pushed herself up and winced as she looked around. She was surrounded by glass and reaching back she could tell that there was glass in her hair and head. It was also dark out still. Looking up, Freya noted the window she had fallen from (no, she’d been pushed. By Klaus.) and was relieved that no one was around to ask questions she couldn’t answer.

She also wasn’t really feeling like going back in at the moment. There was a lot that was going on. Freya had always known it was most likely going to happen, that Klaus would transition but that didn’t mean she was okay with being pushed out a window even if she understood on a logical level what she’d been told about the heightened emotions and need to learn control. That it had been an accident. But right now? Right now she didn’t think it was safe or wise to be there should her brother return given the state he’d been in. He needed to calm down and so did she.

Standing up, Freya looked around and ducked into an alleyway and closed her eyes. Thank goodness for looking over spells so that she knew what to do. Which was how she suddenly was at Elijah’s door and knocking.

“C’mon, Elijah….”

She knew she looked a mess, and felt it, but she was mostly acting on instinct at the moment. Which meant she didn’t care too much about her current state.

Elijah had been sleeping. He did not really need to often, but it was a habit that he had made since he was human for quite a while before he wasn’t. It was easier to have a schedule, but it didn’t take much to wake him up. The sound of knocking made him sit up quickly. His ears focusing on the sound of the heartbeat.

Freya.

It sounded erratic and so did her breath. He made his way to the door and opened it, taking his sister’s appearance in before ushering her inside.

“What happened?” He could smell blood, so obviously it had been something.

“Klaus transitioned, I was pushed out of the window and oh yeah, apparently I can’t die.”

Well that was blunt and straight to the point. True that was also Freya’s way but it was still a lot and she was still in shock about what had happened. Really it was the last bit of really rational thought that made her decide to go to Elijah as she had always been close to him but he also had an actual grasp on the dreams and what it meant to transition.

The comment was also said as she stepped instead. Staying outside was not what she felt like doing and she had a feeling his neighbors might question what had happened (as he had and any normal person might) when she didn’t want to give answers that she didn’t even have or could explain to those who didn’t know about the particulars of this place.

Elijah’s brow furrowed when he heard what she said. Klaus transitioned. The second part, he wasn’t sure how to take. Most of him was relieved that his sister was unable to die, but then he also wasn’t sure what that meant. Not entirely.

He moved to pour two drinks. That seemed to be the sensible reaction to things that happened with their family. Everyone just needed to drink through the Mikaelson family drama. Or maybe it was just Elijah that needed to drink and he just pulled everyone into it with him. He walked back over to Freya, offering her a glass.

Is he by himself now? was the question he wanted to ask, but he didn’t. Klaus being alone seemed like a bad idea, but he was far more concerned about making sure that his sister was okay. If nothing else, he could see if someone could check in on him. Someone who wouldn’t end up getting fucked up because of the way things were. “Do you need anything?”

In theory, Freya understood what her apparent immortality meant. At least, she did in the dreams. Dahlia had taken away her ability to die with dignity. In binding them and the immortality spell used so Dahlia could gain more power, death was not to be. However that was in theory and the dreams. She hadn’t put any thought into it being a thing here, nor was she in the best frame of mind right now so thinking about it wasn’t happening. All she knew was that between the force of the push and the height from which she fell? Freya should have died.

Still, she was grateful for the drink and took it. Yes, alcohol was definitely needed when dealing with Mikaelson family drama. Because honestly, sometimes there was nothing else that would even remotely help. So what if it meant she was probably on the path to becoming a functioning alcoholic and without vampire metabolism?

“Thanks.” Taking a long drink of said alcohol, the blonde sighed. Did she need anything? Probably. Did Freya know what that was? Not really. She just…. “I don’t know. Somewhere to stay until we both calm down?” Which was Freya’s way of saying she wasn’t okay and didn’t feel safe in that moment. That she didn’t know how to help or fix this when that was what she was supposed to do. She would when it wore off, at least feeling safe, but right now? Not so much.

Elijah would like to have said that he could hide the concern on his face, but there was little hope of hiding that from Freya. He could hide his feelings when he didn’t want others to worry about him, but when he was worrying about others, that was another thing entirely. “You can stay here until you feel like you can go back to your place. I’ll stop by and pick up some clothes in the morning.” It was technically the morning now, but he meant when the sun was out and his sister had managed some sleep.

“I can check on Klaus while I’m there and see how he’s handling everything.” Or at least he’d try to. He was trying not to imagine that his brother might already be on a killing spree.

Freya was very good at reading her siblings, she always had been. So even if Elijah had tried to hide his concern, it wouldn’t have worked out all that well. Still, in that moment she was still mostly in shock and trying to process what had just happened. Not just the fact that Klaus had transitioned and that she’d been pushed out of a window, but also that presently she was incapable of dying and what that meant. As such, she nodded some at his offer. “Thanks, Elijah…”

Because she really didn’t feel comfortable going back right now and that bothered her more than it probably should. It also was thanks for the offer to check on Klaus while he was there. Despite the fact that Klaus and Elijah often seemed to butt heads personality wise, it was also the best option.
