"Any idea how it will end?" Damon asked, trying to look back, but only getting a hint of the guy's arms. His chest was beginning to heal itself, thanks to the blood he was finishing. "I now think I'll turn human again. I'm not sure if I want to."
He wasn't sure what to make of Alex, and didn't get much history from that statement. It was certainly less complicated. He didn't know he was a rarity, but he would have enjoyed that. Damon liked to feel special, and it had been a long time since he wasn't some triviality. "There are no great loves of your life? I was engaged once, but managed to screw it up. I'd like to say I couldn't help myself, but in truth, I didn't want to. It was complicated and messy. I've been keeping more of a low profile lately. I like the drama free existence." He would also gladly go back a few years and fix a monumental mistake.
He set the bloodbag aside, and looked back as much as he could. He wasn't sure what he was fishing for, but the pole was staying in the water. "You're good at this. I still want to know why you decided to go into your job."
