Gwen knew all too well how the dreams worked. She’d been in OC for about two years and hadn’t stopped dreaming since. Sometimes the dreams weren’t so bad, other times it made her want to rip her hair out. But these last dreams were just depressing. Especially with Peter showing up in them. She hadn’t thought much about Peter in months for almost a year and now she couldn’t stop thinking about him.

After talking with one of the new residence, Yondu. She invited him out for drinks, though the man acted like she was going to attack him or something for wanting to have drinks and welcome him properly into OC. She was going to do it the same way Kitty did to her. Show him. It’s the best way to get over the shock of the dreams and the quickest. After all, what was he going to tell? Tell people? She was sure people already knew her or about her. After all, how many Spider-Woman's are in OC?

Once the direction of that bar was given, Gwen would wait. Her own beer in hand as she came to glance around the place. Slowly she lost herself in thought. Of her dreams. Of Peter mainly. God, how she hoped no version of him would ever arrive. That was something she knew she wouldn’t be able to handle.

***
Yondu was apprehensive about this meeting. Having been a cop for decades he'd had his share of arresting men who claimed the woman they were meeting had said they were older than what they turned out to be. He didn't want to get into a situation like that, even though this meeting was supposedly nothing more than meeting for a drink and some sort of proof that these dreams were more than just that. He had already been proven wrong in his assumption that the dreams were just rantings of Californians with too much sun on the brain; his dreams were bizarre - he was a blue-skinned space pirate that apparently was very good at his job. He also happened to have kidnapped Peter Quill as a kid from Earth - the same man who was here now and Yondu had known in this life since Peter had been a kid.

He pulled open the door to the bar and stepped inside, not removing his sunglasses for a moment. He had on a worn old leather jacket, well-fitting t-shirt and some well-worn jeans - his weathered face with the sunglasses and ballcap made for a more badass, intimidating entry, he felt. He just couldn't see much till he removed the sunglasses.

Carefully he pulled them off, eyes searching for the young woman named Gwen as he approached the bartender.

***
Gwen came to look at the door as she noticed the older man step through those doors. She realized it was Yondu from his icon as she came to move closer to him at the bar. “Yondu?” She said as she took a sip of her beer, before setting it down on the counter once more.

Gwen looked young, it was in her nature but she was far from it. Though she wasn’t old either she was at what she called a decent age. Plus, a deal was a deal she was going to show him just how bad these dreams could really get.

The way Kitty had shown her two years ago when she moved here. “Almost thought you weren’t going to come.” She said with a smirk along her features.

***

“That's me,” he replied, smiling a bit apprehensively. “I take it you're Gwen.” He flagged down the bartender and asked for a beer. He'd have a quick one.

Damn, she looked like a kid! It was strange seeing someone who looked so young with a beer in hand. He bit down the reflex of a cop to ask for her ID.

“You sure you're of drinkin’ age?” He smirked. “Cuz you look like you're not even outta high school.”

***

“Last time I checked, I was twenty-seven” She stated as she came to sip her beer once more. Sure was also well aware how she looked young. But she wasn’t. Her blond hair would be brushed back as she came to look at Yondu for the moment and smirk. This was going to be fun.

“So. Are you blue in your dreams? Like smurf blue?” She asked with a hint of teasing as she couldn’t help but laugh lightly. God, if he turned blue she didn’t know what she was going to do. That was a lie. She was going to laugh. And hard at that, and who could blame her? She’d never seen someone blue walking around the OC before.

So maybe he’d be the first?

***

“Hmm,” Yondu replied, still sounding uncertain. His beer came and he paid for it and tipped immediately, assuming they weren't going to be there for long. Whatever Gwen was going to show him, he was sure doing so in a crowded bar wasn't the place. Sipping his drink, enjoying the cool wash of the beer and foam, he wondered exactly what this young woman was gifted with. She sure looked normal.

When Gwen mentioned his post about his dreams he rolled his eyes and nearly grimaced. “Damn dreams. Straight up ridiculous. Blue friggin’ space pirate. The hell is that?” In some way, it almost seemed cool to him, like those SciFi movies his childhood friends - what few he had - enjoyed watching. But as a man of the law, it chafed that his dream self-was a notorious criminal.

After draining half the glass, because Yondu was quite the drinker, he set it down and stood. “Alright, whatcha got? Where we doin’ this?”

***
Gwen laughed lightly. “Meeta few people who had space dreams. My past dreams involved multiverse jumping.” She replied with a shrug as she sipped her beer. Only to watch and smirk at Yondu for the moment. He was really hating the concept of his dream, wasn’t he?

When he asked what she had and when they would do this, Gwen smiled. “Come on.” She replied paying for the drinks as she moved towards the door. “This way.” She said. Since she didn’t want others to see her. Once outside she motioned for him to follow her into the alley. “Trust me, you’re gonna love it.” Or hate it.

Once in the alley, Gwen would look to the side of the building and soon towards Yondu with a smile. Already she came to jump up and cling to a wall with her fingertips. Her frame climbing up slightly before turning upside down to look at him, as her blond hair was in a tight ponytail.

Right now, she just waited for his reaction.

***
“Is that so?” Yondu said with a slight smirk. “What the hell is a multiverse?”

Once they were outside, Yondu frowned as she signaled them to head for the alley. Yeah, no, this didn’t feel right at all. He glanced about nervously, though really he played it cool on the outside and simply looked as if he were looking around casually. No one else was about to see this older man heading into an alley with this young woman. Okay, at least he was safe from anyone getting suspicious.

In the shadow of the alley, Yondu said in his rough-hewn voice, “I don’t know what you think I’m gonna love, chica, but this better not be some sort of…” and his voice faltered as he watched her climb the damn wall like a spider. “...trick.” Yondu’s jaw dropped and he stared at her with wide eyes. “What in the hell?!” the words came out after a moment of silence. “How in th’hell you do that, kid?” He backed up, to get a better view, hitting the wall behind him of the other building. This young woman, with her ponytail arced outwards towards the ground as she just clung there upside down, seemed to act like this was the most natural thing in the world.

***

Gwen laughed as she came to push up and soon lean back, so her hands and tiptoes pressed to the wall, this allowed Gwen to face Yondu as she held that smirk on her lips. “I have spider abilities. I can climb walls. “ She said as she shot webbing to the wall he was against. “I can shoot web, I can heal pretty quick, have speed and strength.” She replied as she came to jump off the wall.

Her frame landing on her feet perfectly as she brushed her hair out the way and came to watch him for the moment. “I got these abilities from my dreams. Just like I’ve gotten keepsakes from my dreams. You will too.” She replied smirking.

“You might even turn blue. So if you do, I get first dibs at taking a picture.” She said snickering.

***

Yondu erupted in a few swear words as the webbing shot out of Gwen’s arm and landed against the wall by his head. Backing away wildly from it he looked over at her in disbelief. Once she stuck her Olympic style landing he approached her, cautiously, as if she were a wild animal. “You got all that from the dreams…” He turned back to the webbing and - walking up to it - poked at it. The stuff stuck to his fingers and he pulled his hand away and shook it, trying to wipe it off. “Kid? If I turn blue, ain’t nobody takin’ pictures. I’d just stay holed up in my house with a couple beers wonderin’ how I’ll pay rent.” He tilted his head to the side, looking at her sideways. “So what you do with these powers now that you’ve got ‘em?”

***

“This and that.” She replied, not really telling him what she does during the night. Or even during the day for that matter. Or all day really, Gwen was always on the move when it came to keeping OC safe. Even if it was under a mask. Still, she came to smile towards Yondu.

“Like I said, you turn blue I’m taking pictures.” She said as she came to tie her blonde hair back and smile still towards Yondu. “But I’ve been here over two years so I'm used to all the craziness and just try to break people in as best as I can. It’s the way a close friend did to me, so I do it to others who are willing to see what OC is really about.”

She said with a firm nod of her head as she came to look around. “Want to go back and finish the beers?” She asked as she glanced down the alley towards the sidewalk.

***

“Uh-huh,” Yondu said, eyeing her sideways like he did all young people who were trying to dodge the truth; he used to encounter so many as a small town cop it was second nature to him.
He started heading towards the opening of the alleyway as he saw Gwen glancing that way. “Yep, I could definitely use another drink after that stunt you just pulled, little lady.” He gestured for her to go ahead of him. “And you can tell me about two years worth of crazy while we're at it.”
