Damon followed, shutting the door behind him. He stood in the living area while Alex got a drink, hands in his pockets. The vampire was unaffected by the sunlight thanks to the ring on his finger. "Pretty sure it wasn't Jesus tapdancing. Satan maybe." He chuckled a little bit. His hearing allowed those mumbles to be clear as a bell as long as there wasn't too much background noise.
He kept eyes on Alex, the way he moved, the hair that curled at the ends, the pink spots on his cheeks that were uneven from the pillows. He bit the inside of his lip. Alex seemed a little angry about that, and normally Damon would play it off once again. "I was never bored." He would just let that sink in right there, no witty remark following it. He missed Alex. He didn't want to make that same mistake twice like he had with Sam.
"How is the patient?" He wasn't sure that Alex would know after they dropped him off. "He'll probably come back wanting free stuff after all this. People get lawsuit happy over shit like that." Getting stabbed in a club might bring up issues, but he would deal with them if they occurred.
