John was making himself a coffee while he waited for Sarah to come back from the shop with something for lunch. Yawning and stretching while he waited for the water to boil he was looking forward to a quiet Saturday afternoon. He turned when he heard the door opening, expecting for Sarah to walk in the door, “Hey baby, you were quick.”
Felix had spent the night at Eliot’s and not having any meetings that afternoon, he’d only had to check in at the office briefly to make sure everything was running smoothly then he had decided to head home to change and spend some time making phone calls for the parties he was overseeing personally.
As he entered the apartment he wasn’t surprised to see John in the kitchen, nor was he surprised by what he said, because he obviously thought that he was Sarah, “I can honestly say that no man has ever said those words to me before. I have exceptional self control.” A grin spread across his lips as he responded and closed the door behind him.
“Christ! Sorry Felix,” John chuckled, shaking his head as he turned back to the kettle. “And I will take your word for it because it is so not something I need to know about my girlfriend’s brother,” he joked. “I’m making coffee, you want some?”
Felix laughed and put his bag down by the door. “Don’t blush too much, Johnny boy.” He didn’t know what it was about John, but Felix enjoyed teasing him just a little more than most people. Maybe it was because John didn’t know Felix the way most others did so he didn’t simply laugh and brush it off like Sarah or Cosima would. “Sure, I’ll have one. Where’s Sarah and Kira?”
“Kira spent the night at a friend’s and Sarah’s gone out to get something for us to eat,” John relayed as he turned back to making the coffee. “How was your night then? Have a good one?” he winked over his shoulder at Felix while making up his cup.
“Kira is a very popular girl,” Felix was glad that Kira had made so many friends since her and Sarah had moved to Orange County that she had so many sleepovers. “I had a very good night. In fact, I had my own sleepover.” He smirked at the memory of his night with Eliot, as he took a seat at the kitchen table.
John grinned at Felix and looked sideways at him. “Your own sleepover, huh? Well how was it? I assume from that smug look that you playing a little more than pass the parcel at your sleepover,” he joked, moving to join Felix at the table with their drinks.
Felix took one of the mugs of coffee and began making it the way he liked it, “Do you really want me to go into details, Johnny? Because I will.” He smirked and took a sip from his mug as he watched John, waiting to see what he would say. He doubted that John would ask for details of his and Eliot’s sex life, but it was too fun not to mess with him.
John chuckled as he settled down at the table with his coffee. “Well, I never said that I wanted chapter and verse, but it seems to be good for you. It’s good to see you with a smile like that on your face,” he told him, raising his cup to his face so he could take in the strong aroma of coffee.
Felix laughed and took a sip of his coffee before nodding, “It feels good to have a smile on my face.” When Felix had met Eliot, he hadn’t expected to get into another relationship so soon after Josh had left and sure, they hadn’t actually defined their relationship, but they were having fun and Felix wasn’t going to push anything on Eliot.
“It’s good to see you with a smile on your face again,” John smiled, raising his cup in a toast towards Felix. “Here’s to keeping it there,” he grinned.
