Who: Liv and Kate
What: Kate shoots Liv with an arrow while fighting zombies
When: August 20th
Where: Streets of Orange County
Rating/Warning: Medium. Violence. 'Full on Zombie mode' Liv
Status: Complete
Seriously? Zombies were attaching Orange County? They weren’t the same kind that Liv was, obviously, but they were definitely giving zombies a bad name. Liv was going to do whatever the hell she could to protect her county from these evil zombies.
Liv was in full on zombie mode - adrenaline extremely increased as well as her strength, her eyes were red as were the veins on her face. Liv had already managed to take out a few of the Risen Dead and the Skeletons. She was currently fighting a Hungry Corpse and shit was it difficult to kill. Liv attempted to rip off it’s head but instead ending up pulling the whole top half of it’s body off and somehow that didn’t kill it.
Kate didn’t exactly love these weird events that happened in Orange County, but at the same time it gave her something to do. She could work on her skills, get some real archery practice in. The thrill of being in danger gave her a bit of a high, too. It reminded her into her Dreams. So she was out with her bow and quiver, using a wealth of arrows that had been designed both in her Dreams and in this world.
Kate turned a corner and lifted her bow, then sent an arrow straight through the chest of an approaching monster. She didn’t like the looks of these creatures, but at least they went down pretty quickly. Though, her eyes came to rest on another kind of monster, one she hadn’t seen so far. White hair, red eyes, and red veins on her face? Creepy! Kate lifted her bow and aimed again.
Someone shot her with an arrow? Seriously? Liv pulled it out of her chest. It didn't really do anything to her and thanks to full on zombie mode she barely even felt it.
Liv took a few deep breaths trying to calm herself. Get her adrenaline down so she could return to normal. “I’m not like them,” Liv said when she was calm enough that she could actually speak and not just grunt. “Kate?!”
Kate came a little closer, frowning deeply, then gasped at what she saw. That was… Liv? The creepy mortician lady who stitched her up when Kate got a bullet wound. Oh, no. She shouldn’t have shot, but… well, could you blame her? She looked awfully scary!
“Liv?” She asked, jumping down from her perch on top of a dumpster. “What the heck? Are you okay?”
Liv’s wound was already starting to heal. Thankfully Kate seemed to recognize her. Hopefully she remembered that Liv was actually on her side. She had stitched Kate up that one time. And Clint too. She may be a zombie but she wasn’t like these things.
“I’m fine,” Liv replied keeping her eyes out for any zombies or skeletons in the area. “I heal quickly,” she added considering Kate had seen the arrow go in her and it was almost completely healed now.
Kate’s eyes moved over Liv’s face (which had been totally different and (no offense) grotesque a moment ago, but looked normal now) and then down her chest to where the arrow had torn through her clothes. But the wound wasn’t bleeding… how? Liv must have been a mutant or something.
“I’m so sorry! I didn’t see it was you!” Kate said. Realizing that what she thought was a threat was actually a friend, Kate turned a little to scan the area. “Crazy weather, right? Monsters appearing out of nowhere…”
Given that they lived in Orange County, and were both literally out fighting zombies, Liv was pretty sure the fact that she had healed wouldn’t seem all that odd to Kate. She would explain, but now didn’t seem like the best time to announce what she was.
“Don’t worry about it,” Liv assured giving Kate a small smile. Mistakes happened when you were out fighting like this. Liv understood. Plus she knew she basically looked like a monster when she was in full on zombie mode. “Just another day in Orange County. Honestly, I find it weirder when nothing bizarre happens.”
Kate would absolutely take an explanation later. And maybe some shots. But for now she wanted to be at her prime. There were fucking monsters hanging around, attacking people. Kate knocked another arrow. “Can I help you get where you were headed? Or are you just out kicking ass because you can?” It was probably obvious that Kate was the latter.
Liv was also the latter. “Figured someone has to show these zombies who’s boss.” It was weird for her, fighting her own kind, even if they weren’t exactly like the zombies from her dreams. “I can join you,” Liv was just assuming Kate was up to the same given she had just shot Liv. “As long as you promise not to shoot me again. Even if my face changes.” It was hard for her not to go into ‘full on zombie mode’ with all this adrenaline pumping.
Kate glanced over at the white-blonde woman with curiosity in her eyes. It wasn’t really the time or place for more conversations, as Kate could hear the monsters a block away and approaching from the east. She nodded. “I’ll do my best.” They could fight together, watch each other’s backs.
