Myrcella had been a little down since Irisa had told her she was moving out to look after Athos’ place. She understood of course, because Athos was a wonderful mentor and set Irisa on her career path and he’d become a good friend to her but she still was going to miss her around the house. She and Jeremy would have wanted the house to themselves at some point maybe but it still made Myrcella a little sad.
So she had invited Anna over, she knew she’d done well recently in auditions and wanted to celebrate her friend’s success. She’d made cupcakes and homemade lemonade in preparation.
Anna was still reeling over the phone call. She hadn’t even posted to the ‘net yet about her news. The romantic lead. It was both incredible and terrifying. What if she messed everything up? What if she didn’t and became a movie star? This could be a whole new chapter in her life!
She came to Myrcella’s with some sparkling, strawberry lemonade, and rang the bell. Pretty soon she might be too busy to hang out much. The shooting schedule was going to be pretty intense to make up for the scenes they had to re-shoot.
Answering the door Myrcella smiled, “You’re looking so happy, it’s lovely to see” she commented as she ushered her inside and gave her friend a hug, “I’m so excited for you” she said and she hadn’t even heard about Anna’s latest news.
Anna laughed, going a little pink. “I’m sorry,” she said, reaching forward to hug her friend. “It’s hard to hold it in! I have news to tell you!” She pulled back and offered the lemonade. “But let’s pour some of this first?”
“More news? I can’t wait to hear it since it’s obviously exciting!” Myrcella grinned before nodding, “Absolutely, that looks great. Come through to the kitchen” she said, retrieving chilled glasses from the fridge.
Anna followed her friend into the kitchen and opened the strawberry lemonade. She poured some into each of the chilled glasses, then set the bottle aside so they could toast. “I GOT THE JOB!” She chirped excitedly. “I’m going to be the lead in the movie! The actress quit!”
“Oh my god!” Myrcella cried, toasting her friend with a bright smile, “Anna that is amazing!” she put her glass down and moved to hug her, “I know a movie star, that is so cool” she grinned.
Anna gave a loud and happy “Squee!” as she hugged her friend, careful not to spill any of her drink. “Well, I’m not a star yet!” She laughed, releasing Myrcella. “But maybe I’m on my way. It’s a Science Fiction Film, and they’re all the rage right now. Maybe it’ll be really big!”
“I am sure it will be huge” Myrcella said, “Science fiction is so popular and you’re so pretty, two things that help make a film a hit and that’s before taking into account how talented you are. How are the rest of the cast?” she asked interestedly.
Anna blushed deeply at the compliment. So pretty? Really? She couldn’t stop grinning at that. “Well, Match is the lead, and he’s amazing. He was working as a double, too--I wonder if this is the first time in history that both the male and female leads simply walked off the set, and they had to replace them with their doubles.”
In Myrcella’s opinion Anna was very pretty, in that she was simply being honest. “Maybe, but you know if it is that just means there will be even more hype around you both taking over which can only be a good thing since you’ll get a massive lot of publicity” Or at least they would as long as the studio took advantage of it all.
“Fingers crossed on that one!” Anna said, and laughed both excitedly and nervously. “I think they’re planning on that, actually. I’ve already been in talks with my Agent to do some interviews in like, late summer? More like early fall, since the movie’s going to come out around Thanksgiving.”
“That is so exciting!” Myrcella said, “And you know when it’s closer to the time I am totally going to start dropping it into conversations with my clients and recommending they go see it” Because movies was a normal conversation topic when she was doing manicures and pedicures and doing hair.
Anna beamed. She was positively beaming with pride and excitement and energy. “You’re so sweet! You’ll have to come with me to an advance showing! Or the premiere! I wonder how many tickets I can get. I wonder if Wash would want to go.” Anna paused for a moment, considering.
“I am not going to turn down that chance, but definitely check with Wash first. I don’t wanna oust the boyfriend” she grinned, she had to admit the idea of working in movies had crossed Myrcella’s mind too. Not as an actor of course but as a make-up artist, it definitely looked fun.
Anna chuckled. “I think he might be a bit upset with me if I didn’t invite him first. But it’ll be my first big public appearance after starring in a movie, so… do you think you can help me? With hair and make-up and dress and everything?”
Myrcella laughed, “Rightfully so too” she agreed, “But of course I’ll help you, you will look the belle of the ball and I will make your professional make-up and wardrobe team envious of your style” she winked.
“I love it!” Anna laughed at the wink, then wrapped her arms around her friend for another quick hug. She squeezed Myrcella’s shoulders once before releasing them. “You really should come and visit me on the set sometime!”
“I would love to, it’s always looked so amazing. Busy and alive you know? I’ve always loved that kind of atmosphere” she admitted, she would love to see Anna in action too. Her friend was most likely a natural, she was so bubbly and positive.
“Yes! That’s exactly it!” Anna gave her a bright smile, glad that someone seemed to understand how much she loved it, and why. “I’ll get you a pass. You can come and see how they do all the make-up and everything.”
“Thank you Anna” Myrcella said with a smile, “That would be wonderful. Oh I’m so excited for you, this is going to be incredible”
“It’s my pleasure,” Anna beamed. “All right now, enough about me. Tell me everything about you!”
