"I just need to..."
Who: Jubilee and Rahne What: The blood lust kicks in When: Today! Where: Jubilee's place Status: complete Rating: PG-13 for blood and nomming on necks.
Jubilee was bored out of her mind. She couldn’t visit Ty Lee, Kitty was stuck in a tank, and really even with a cane she didn’t feel like going anywhere. Worried about her friends, and herself, and she was in a funk. A righteous funk. A super funk. She could call Ollie but she thought he might be busy..and what he could to to take her out of a funk she wasn’t in the mood for.
Everything seemed so intense today. The sun hurt. Her ears hurt, and her stomach wanted something but she couldn’t figure out what.
Actually pacing around her apartment, Jubilee kicked at a pile of clothing with her better foot, "ARRGH!"
SHE WAS SO BORED.
Rahne decided to check in on Jubilee. She knew it was probably as rough on Jubes as the rest of Kitty’s friends having Kitty stuck in a phased state. She drove over to the gymnast’s apartment and knocked on the door.
The door swung open, and Jubilee squinted, "Rahne? RAHNE! YES!" She pulled her inside and glomped her, bouncing around as she did so. She didn't even feel her leg twinge which made her even happier. Then it twinged and she winced, "Okay nuff of that. What're doing you here, Sinclair?"
Rahne chuckled and hugged Jubilee back. “Thought I’d check on ye. What with Kitty getting stuck and all.” She gave Jubes another squeeze. “How’re ye doing?”
"Better. I'm getting another check up of my leg tomorrow, and I hope it looks good. I've been sooo bored...." She leaned against Rahne, nuzzling a bit. The other woman's pulse was suddenly loud in her ears, her skin was warm and Jubilee forced herself to pull away.
“Mmm. I hope the check up goes well. You’ll feel better once you find somethin’ out.” She smiled at Jubes. “Maybe we could watch a movie or something.”
Jubilee nodded, scratching at her head. She shook herself to clear it, "Why don't you pick something out and I'll order some take out, yo! Pick anything! Netflix biotch!" No more boredom was WIN.
Rahne chuckled and picked up the remote to check out what Netflix had to offer. “What’re ye in the mood for?”
Jubilee nearly dropped her phone. She did fumble it and managed to finish the order and put it down without breaking it. What was wrong with her?
"Uhm. Something funny and sexy and lots of violence and crap!" Rahne laughed. “Maybe you should pick the movie while I order the take-out.”
Jubilee took the remote and started flipping through the list of movies. She settled on some movie with werewolves, because luls, and then plopped onto her couch and patted the seat next to her.
Rahne called for take-out and placed an order that would give them lots of left overs.
Perfect! Less reason for her to go out for another day or two! She shifted and leaned against Rahne, trying to ignore a pulse that wasn't hers. She rested a hand on Rahne’s knee and rubbed a little.
She smiled at Jubilee and settled in to watch the movie, keeping an ear open for the doorbell.
Was this bloodlust? She hadn't dreamed of Laura in some time and couldn't quite remember what that pure need had felt like. The hunger and desire and need...she swallowed a lump in her throat. Maybe she should have invited Ollie over.
Head on Rahne's shoulder, Jubilee's eyes fixated on her throat. Veeeery lightly she nuzzled Rahne's shoulder with her lips.
Rahne didn’t think anything of the nuzzling. It was a very Jubilee sort of thing to do, for one thing. And for another, she was feeling generally more cuddly about people since having dreams about being a wolfgirl.
The bare skin tasted better than it should have, and she could feel the blood rushing beneath it. Slowly, her lips creeped up Rahne's shoulder, towards her throat. Her right hand slid across her friend's belly, comfortingly and instinctively to keep her from moving.
Now that was a little different. But Jubilee was probably just in a playful mood. Possibly it was a product of being cooped up.
Jubilee reached Rahne's throat. There was a jarring pain in her gums and teeth, her eyes flare red, and then she bit down into Rahne's neck, her hands pressing her down and back into the couch. The blood was warm and tangy and sent a shiver through her body, satisfying a craving she hadn't realised she'd had.
Pain shot through her neck and she found herself pressed against the couch. She could feel blood running down her neck. “Jubilee...Jubilee stop!” She grabbed the other woman’s hair in an attempt to pull her off and wriggle away. This was not happening.
Jubilee groaned, not hearing Rahne’s protest over the sound of the blood and the energy that coursed through her. She started sucking and lapping at it, lost.
Rahne continued trying to shove Jubilee off. She started feeling lightheaded. She aimed her fist at Jubilee’s throat and punched as hard as she could.
That worked. Jubilee gagged, flailing back and landing hard on her tailbone. Her lips and chin dropped blood. Her eyes continued to shine red for several seconds before the glow faded, and they returned to their normal color.
Realizing what she'd done, Jubilee wailed and grabbed for shirt from one of the piles, intending to press it against Rahne's neck, if the woman would let her near.
"Oh em gee oh em gee ohgod Rahne I'm so sorry I.."
Rahne shrank back a little but took from Jubilee and pressed it hard against her neck. “You can’t just bite people like that, Jubilee,” she said, her voice shaking. “You can’t do that...” Her neck hurt and she felt light-headed from bloodloss. But what left her feeling the most shaken was that it had happened at all.
Wiping at her mouth with increasing horror, Jubilee nodded her head. She was shaking, "I know I know I know I just got so...hungry....and it was there and I could hear it and smell it and see it under your skin..."
She backed away and leaned against the wall, trying to put space between them. Did Rahne need a doctor? Should they call Moira. Should someone put a stake in her?
“If yuir that hungry, we need tae find ye a butcher’s shop or somethin’...get ye some left over...” Rahne took a deep breath; the sluggishness seemed to make her accent thicker. “Think it’s best ye stay in till ye figure out how tae control this...”
She glanced over at Jubilee. “...have ye got any orange juice?”
"I'msorry," She said again, stumbling into the kitchen. Everything felt very buzzy and heightened. She jammed the hinges opening the fridge door, "shiiiiit...."
Grabbing a bottle of OJ, she ran back into the room and held it out for Rahne, trying to keep her distance. She felt suddenly ill.
Rahne took the bottle. “Thanks.” She held the bottle between her legs and opened it with her free hand. She took several long swigs and then sighed. “...can you still eat normal food?”
"I..I think so..." Jubilee nodded. She'd had something just this morning. She made her way back to the kitchen and washed her mouth and chin. Then she pulled her shirt off and threw it in the trash. She again kept her distance from Rahne when she came back into the living room.
"I don't...it's never been this strong before."
“You’ll have tae be careful, Jubilee.” Rahne took another swig. “Ye better put a shirt on in case the take-out arrives.”
She nodded, pulling another one from a pile and pulling it on. Her face had a bit more color than it had before, and her eyes had faded back to their normal color. She sat on the floor, not trusting herself to be near her friend, and not sure why Rahne wasn't freaking out more.
Rahne was freaking out on the inside. She just felt drained and didn’t really have the energy to freak out on the outside. And she was trying to process her own feeling about being assaulted by a vampire. Who was also a friend.
"..I think you need to start carrying around some garlic." Jubilee said. She eyed Rahne's neck, "And maybe wear your cross around me." She wasn't sure if that would weaken her here, but it might help. She rubbed at her face, "I tried so hard to fight the instinct in the dreams and then I just..give in here and I dunno why."
“Aye, I’ll remember to wear a cross.” Maybe one on a choker when she visited Jubes, so it would show up more clearly. “Doesn’t always work here like in the dreams. Sometimes people can’t control it here when they can there.”
"It's not fair.." She wished Laura was here. It was a feeling that made her insides quiver, and not entirely because Laura couldn't be accidentally killed.
"I just need to..." Do what? Jubilee paced, hobbling around, "I don't want to be this."
“It’s not fair, but you’re going to have to learn to handle this. Somehow.” After the orange juice, Rahne felt less woozy, but she didn’t move the t-shirt away from her neck just yet. She’d need to put gauze on it later. If she was lucky, it wouldn’t get infected. Or scar.
"I'm sorry, Rahne. I really am." Jubilee rubbed at her arm and stopped hobbling. She doubted it would get infected or scar. She had been a little clumsy but if she recalled there were certain enzymes...
“I believe you. But it’s still...scary.” Rahne ran a hand through her hair and sighed.
"You taste Scottish," Jubilee offered with a grin.
Rahne snorted. “Och.”
Her grin grew a little bit. The doorbell rang, and she went to get the take out, bringing it over to Rahne, "Eat up. In case I took too much....uh...."
The smell of the food combined with a stomach not quite ready to handle blood sent her running into the bathroom.
