Who: Asami and Lena Where: Asami’s place When: After this What: Lena saves Asami’s life. Rating: PG-13 Status: Complete
The ride over to Asami’s was the hardest car ride Lena had ever endured in her life, and she had experience in this area. She had driven herself from Oregon to Irvine when she moved to go to college, and that was through a rainstorm. So when she said getting in the car and physically driving herself over to Asami’s was torture she knew what she was talking about.
When she finally arrived, she didn’t take the time to admire the vastness or the beauty of the Sato estate. She didn’t bother getting nervous, or checking her breath on her hand. She hadn’t even changed out of her sweats and t-shirt and into something nicer. Her focus was completely on what was about to happen, and she spared no attention for anything else.
Before long, she found herself on Asami’s porch waiting for the door to open. When it did, she stepped directly into Asami’s space, placing a hand on her cheek and kissing her with everything she had.
It wasn't exactly a planned thing, or something that Asami had expected. But the flirting had been driving her crazy and then Lena had made that offer and how could she refuse? Lena was actually making it hard to work, and Asami couldn't stop thinking about the taste of her lips or how her skin might taste or what she'd sound like when she-
The door interrupted her thoughts and she answered it wearing a pair of shorts and a tank top and then Lena was kissing her and the sound she made was definitely a moan.
Any thoughts that the wait might have cooled either of them down went up in smoke.
Kissing Asami felt like finally breathing, and Lena couldn’t get enough of it. She didn’t bother moving them out of the doorway of Asami’s house, instead taking the opportunity express all that she’d been feeling through each kiss, right where they were.
She hadn’t been kidding when she said that she’d never felt like this before. Never so raw, so open to someone so quickly. She wasn’t the type of person that formed bonds fast (or much at all, for that matter), and that she and Asami seemed to burn so brightly together so quickly was both confounding and intoxicating.
This kind of fire could burn them both to ash. But Asami wasn't going to fight it or even worry about it. A connection like this was rare, and she was brave enough to explore it, no matter how terrifying it was. Maybe she'd finally be able to move past Korra.
Asami managed to get the door closed, and pushed Lena against it, moving her leg between Lena's. She broke the kiss, panting for breath and looking at Lena like she was the most beautiful thing she'd ever seen. “Hi to you too.”
Lena’s eyes focused slowly as she opened them, breathing heavily as she readjusted to the new position she found herself in. She’d lost herself in Asami for a moment. She didn’t regret it.
“Would you rather I had brought you a muffin basket?” She said, after she’d regained her ability to speak, bringing up her hand to tuck a lock of Asami’s hair behind her ear. “Because that probably would have been better for my lung volume, but much less fun.”
“The only thing I’m hungry for is you.” Asami’s voice was deeper than normal, a sort rough quality to it that seemed to match the intensity of her eyes. It softened a little when Lena touched her hair, moving from ‘I’m so turned on I’m dying’ to ‘you’re the most adorable person ever’ and then somewhere in between.
She lifted a hand to Lena’s face and stroked her cheek.
Leaning into the hand at her cheek, Lena found herself torn about what to do next. She wanted to kiss Asami (It seemed like all she ever wanted to do these days was kiss Asami), but she knew exactly where that would lead. They’d enjoy it, and it would be worth the wait, but Lena found that she wanted more.
She honestly didn’t know how they’d managed to get to the point where her feelings meant so much to her this early into their relationship, but however it happened, they were there. She was invested in this, now - whatever happened next was either going to bring her a lot of joy or a lot of heartache. But despite her track record, Lena felt good about her chances. Asami was so, so good. It felt safe to risk putting so much faith in her.
Finally giving in, Lena leaned in and kissed Asami again. Unable to give up on the promise of more, though, she said, between kisses, “I want you. But you need to know that you matter to me. For more than just this.”
"I'm..." Asami trailed off, distracted by kisses and the little lightning bolts from Lena's lips. Oh, she wanted her, she wanted her in every way she could imagine. "Wha?"
She stroked Lena's cheek again, pulling her head back to look at her. Everything was moving so fast and it was almost too much. But Asami had discovered she didn't really do the whole FWB thing very well. She'd developed feelings for Kit and then gotten her heart broken.
Asami understood Lena's fear. She couldn't tell her she loved her. It was too soon for that. But Asami adored Lena. "I want you too. And you matter to me too. I don't even know how much yet, but you do. More than... colleagues, more than friends. I really want to be more than friends."
Rushing headlong into things was dangerous. She remembered Mako. She remembered Buffy. But Asami didn’t really care. If this was a mistake, bring it on.
Lena smiled widely, happy and relieved at the knowledge that they were on the same page. It made all of this worth the concerns and leaps of faith; worth the knowledge that it could all end very badly. She wouldn’t stop worrying, but if they were in this together, she could deal. She could really do it.
Content to continue from where they’d left off, Lena leaned up and kissed Asami again, hands threading through her hair as she pulled her closer.
A leap of faith. It was a hell of a leap, and Asami’s stomach was doing several kinds of flips as she let herself be pulled closer to Lena. Moth. Flame. She pressed her lips hungrily to Lena’s.
She was content to burn.
With any other person of her wealth, there could be a chance of house staff walking in on them. But except for a weekly cleaning service, Asami hadn’t employed anyone since her father had been jailed. Half the mansion was sealed off and covered in dust sheets, with only a library, center living area, bedroom and kitchen being occupied. A little workshop of course.
And the massive, massive indoor pool that Asami would be more than willing to show off to Lena later.
Lena had vaguely wondered why there wasn’t more staff in Asami’s home, or at the gate, but she’d been understandably distracted at the time and had let it go. In fact, while she’d likely ask about it eventually, she was still pretty occupied with what was going on in front of her.
Namely, the tongue in her mouth, and the insistent way she kept grinding down on Asami’s leg, she let out a groan at the feeling, breaking the kiss momentarily to lean her head back against the door. She needed a second to breathe. “So, thanks for inviting me in,” she said with a smile.
There was a need inside Asami for this. She was always so lonely, even when in a crowd, and the feel of Lena’s body against hers made it all go away. At least now her hair was less than perfect, and she laughed, her voice breezy, “Oh, is that what that was?”
“I don’t know,” Lena said, her smirk the very definition of suggestive, “your mouth seemed pretty welcoming to me.” Okay, so it was cheesy and a little ridiculous, but it got her point across.
Now that she’d been pulled down from her lustful haze somewhat, Lena was starting to feel the pain in her that came with leaning against a door. As smoothly as she could manage, she pulled her hands from Asami’s hair, moving one to Asami’s cheek and the other down to her side. “As much as I’m enjoying this, I think we’d be a bit more comfortable somewhere else.”
“Your tongue was sure inviting itself in,” Asami teased. She pulled away, reluctantly and then only far enough to be able to tug Lena after her - unlike some people she didn’t have the upper body strength to just carry someone. There were stairs on the left, and Asami led her up them, heart pounding faster the closer she got to her bedroom. Swallowing her nerves, she let Lena in.
It was a fairly tame bedroom. A large bed, a big dresser with a matching mirror and a laptop on it. Asami seemed to have a huge make-up collection. The room was almost surprisingly girly. There weren’t even any posters or pictures aside from her mother and father on the walls. The only thing that really made it seem Asami was everything being a shade of red.
It looked rather unlived in and impersonal.
Lena laughed, shrugging as she was pulled up the stairs by Asami. “I’m sorry. Sometimes it’s a little forward.”
She followed Asami into the bedroom with a grin, glancing around at the sparse, large room and taking it all in. Sure, she noticed that it was minimally decorated and didn’t look like she spent much time in it, but Lena could relate. She worked like crazy, and used her bedroom only to crash. She imagined that Asami’s was the same way.
Finally, after a few quiet moments, Lena said, facetious smile in place, “So, what’s your favorite color again?”
“Red, like how hot you make me,” Asami replied, giving bedroom eyes as she turned towards her. She leaned in, hungry for another kiss. This kind of thing would probably piss her father off and honestly that was a nice bonus.
“Wait. So you didn't bring me up here to talk about our favorite colors?” She said, laughing as she leaned in, accepting the kiss. Before it got too heated, though, she pulled away again. “Mine’s white, by the way.”
With that, she was done resisting, kissing Asami hard, with a renewed passion.
“Good to know.” After all, roses came in white as well as red. Asami grinned into the kiss, though she quickly forgot just why she was thinking of roses. Her hands ran down Lena’s back and sides, and she tried desperately to contain herself. They were here in her room and they both obviously wanted this but she was also a little afraid.
The feel of Asami’s hands on her had Lena moving even closer, attempting to close all of the space between them. With Asami’s declaration that this meant something to her too - the knowledge that they were both in this for more than just one night - she couldn’t say she was hesitant at all. She didn’t see any reason to wait when they were both on the same page.
Wrapping her hands around Asami’s waist, Lena moved her mouth to her neck, lying slow, opened mouth kisses there.
The sensation tickled a little bit, and Asami made a sound that was halfway between a groan and a laugh. She dug her fingers into Lena’s sides, then gingerly slipped them in under her top to feel the warm skin beneath. It was like a dance, and trying to find the rhythm together.
Lena gasped at the feeling of Asami’s hands against her skin, smiling against her neck at the feeling. In response, she returned her lips to Asami’s, kissing her languidly and slowly backing them toward the bed.
If there was something that Asami liked, it was someone taking charge like this. For all her flirting and confidence, she responded well to actions like that.
Her knees hit the bed while she was preoccupied with charge running between their lips, and she lost her balance, falling inelegantly onto her back, hair haloing on the sheets beneath her.
Lena giggled as Asami fell, fighting a giddiness that threatened to take over at the feelings that coursed through her. She really, really liked this woman, and for her, this night was a culmination of that.
She got into the bed on her knees, settling between Asami’s legs as she sat up straight to rid herself of her shirt. Now in her bra, she laid down, torso to torso with Asami with her hands on either side of Asami’s head, kissing her again.
Asami felt her heart pounding, and she felt that same giddiness running through her body. She stared at Lena, then licked her lips before she pulled Lena close and returned the kiss.
While she hadn't had that many partners, she wasn't inexperienced, and she was an attentive lover who focused much of her efforts on making Lena forget her own name.
As much as she craved being touched, she craved touching more, and wrapped herself around Lena in the afterglow with no intention of letting her escape.
Lena yawned, scooting back closer into Asami’s embrace. She was deliciously spent, and ready and willing to not move from that position from the rest of the night.
“I didn’t know that it was possible, but I feel much better.” Lena said, voice hoarse from her reaction to the previous activities. “How about you?”
“I feel amazing,” Asami murmured. “I’d almost forgotten how much I liked this. And I like it extra because it’s you.”
So she wasn’t just feeling clingy, she was also feeling like a dork. “... too much?”
The warmth that Lena felt at Asami’s words was almost more than she could bear without turning around and continuing with what they’d started. She managed, though, pulling Asami’s arms closer around her, smiling to herself.
“No. Not too much. I’ve had my share of trysts, but never one with someone that I felt like this for.” She said honestly, trusting that Asami would bear the weight of her confessions well. “When I said I’ve never felt like this before, I meant it. And this just proved it to me all over again.”
Asami felt a pain in her chest, and held Lena tighter. She kissed the back of her neck, and then her shoulder. “I know what it’s like to have a broken heart, and yours is safe in my hands.”
