Who: Barbara Gordon, Bruce Wayne
Where: Bruce's home in Seal Beach.
When: Sunday afternoon.
What: Barbara comes by to intervene on Bernie's behalf.
Rating: It's likely to be grim stuff, but probably not over PG in terms of actual content.
Bruce had been following the investigation of his parents' deaths. Closely. He'd been letting the police take the lead, without meddling or contaminating crime-scenes, because he believed that California was not Gotham and that the system would work. Stane had just been put away for attempting to murder Tony Stark, and if Orange County were Gotham it would probably not have gone down that way. If a man with money could not bribe his way out, whoever had killed his parents would face justice when they had their turn in court. He could call and badger the poor detectives, however. He could quietly solicit information from John Tyrael and he could comb over his parents' place himself after the police were done. Something wasn't sitting right with him. There were little bits of information that cried out for closer investigation, but he hadn't yet pieced it all together. He was obsessing quietly in his study when the bell rang. Bruce had been trying so hard to be an adult about it all - getting up, putting on clothes and making breakfast like the world was still turning. It was, after all, and there were people who needed him functioning like an adult instead of shutting down like a child. When he answered the door, he looked normal enough, if a bit tired. |
