Who: Blossom and Caroline What: Asking Blossom to be a bridesmaid When: Early March Where: The mall Warning/Rating: Low. Lot's of squealing. Status: Complete!
Caroline decided to go shoe shopping with Blossom. It was perfect really, that was how they met and Caroline had something very important to ask Blossom. “I need some new flats,” Caroline told Blossom as they walked into the mall. Some comfortable and stylish flats. As much as the blonde loved heels, her feet were already starting to kill her. “What about you? Looking for anything in particular?”
Shoe shopping was a fun past time, most of Blossom’s shopping was for necessary items; usually school supplies or binders for keeping things in. But every now and then, something just because was nice. Blossom tended to live her life in flat shoes, little ballet flats to run around campus in, or little mary-janes for the cute outfits. But since there was always the chance for nice dates with Tyler, she’d been stepping up her outfit game, buying some fancier dresses and what not.
“Sparkles!” Blossom had planned accordingly, she’d done an Elsa with her long red hair, cute little sundress to her knees and carefully painted toes, ideal for gauging some heels on her feet and imagining a nice dress or two. “I mean, sparkles aren’t needed but I should really get some nice heels for um… formal affairs.” That was the plan at least. If Blossom stuck to it would be soon to see.
“Formal affairs?” Caroline asked with a raised brow. “Like my wedding?” Of course that was the thing most on Caroline’s mind. It was hard not too, especially with the reason she wanted to go shopping with Blossom. Which did give her the perfect opening. “Because you’re going to need shoes that go with the bridesmaid dresses.” Not exactly asking but hey. When an opportunity came? You took it.
“Of course for your wedding! I’m gonna ha---” Normally, Blossom was totally on the ball, she caught things and ran with them, but this had her stopping, whirling to face Caroline. “Really?” Firstly, it was amazing that Caroline and Peeta were getting married (and it was barely any time now) but secondly that she was invited as a friend and now, potentially. “Oh my God, absolutely!”
Bridesmaid? Like Blossom would turn that down. “Oh my, this is… I’m so excited I’m super worried I’m gonna burst!” Blossom loved weddings, she was absolutely going to love this wedding a million times more.
Before Caroline said anything else she reached out and wrapped Blossom in a hug. She had a feeling Blossom would say yes, or well agree since Caroline hadn’t technically asked, but still it was exciting now that it was official.
“Don’t burst!” Caroline exclaimed as she released Blossom from the hug. “I need you intact,” she teased. “And don’t worry, Hanna is designing the dresses so you definitely look amazing.” Caroline also wasn’t one of those brides who purposefully made her bridesmaids look bad just to make herself stand out more.
“Oh,” Blossom just returned the hug, trying really hard to calm down and not make a huge scene, but it was so amazing and wonderful. “Okay, not bursting!” But it was so exciting.
Blossom had been to weddings before, but she was young, she’d never been a bridesmaid before, and this was just going to be an amazing wedding, she knew it. “Oh my gosh, specially designed dresses? That’s just so cool! I can’t wait to see them!” Even though she knew she would need to wait.
“Thank you, for wanting me as a bridesmaid, you’re just the sweetest, you’re going to look gorgeous!”
“Thank you for accepting!” Caroline replied happily. Her wedding was finally starting to come together. “Now, let’s go get some shoes!”
