Who: Simon Lewis & Isabelle Lightwood When: Thursday, April 6th. Morning Where: Simon's Room What: The Mark is gone! Rating/Warnings: Family Friendly Status: Complete
Simon gasped as his eyes snapped open, the memory of searing pain rushing through his body was beginning to fade, but the memory of Luke’s farm and Raziel was fresh in his mind and he almost expected to find Glorious somewhere in his room, but the sword wasn’t anywhere that he could see. Bringing a hand up to run through his hair, it stilled near his forehead as he recalled exactly what Raziel had done in exchange for the sword. Jumping out of bed, Simon nearly got tangled in the sheets as he rushed towards his dresser and grabbed a mirror, glad that he wasn’t the type of vampire who didn’t have a reflection. If he weren’t a vampire, he was sure that his heart would be beating in anticipation as he lifted the mirror, his eyes widening as he leaned forward and even rubbed at his forehead, in case he’d forgotten to wash off the concealer the night before.
He stared at his reflection for a few more moments before it really sunk in that The Mark was actually gone. Simon wasn’t sure exactly how much time passed before he finally put the mirror down and moved back towards his bed where Isabelle was currently sleeping.
“Izzy! Izzy, wake up!” He had to tell her right away.
It took Izzy longer to wake than it would have done in her dreams but when she did wake the whip was instantly in her hand and she sat up quickly, “Simon? What is it?” she asked, rubbing her eyes with her free hand as she tried to work out if there was any danger. Not that there should be of course but well, you honestly never knew what the dreams or this place would throw at them.
Simon wasn’t exactly surprised that Izzy went from sleeping to battle mode in two seconds flat, but he did still lean back just a little, “Izzy, it’s gone.” He brushed back his messy brown fringe to show her his forehead. “The Mark is gone.” He couldn’t help but smile at the thought of what this meant. He’d no longer have to worry about someone accurately getting killed if they bumped into him, but at the same time, this meant that he’d have to be more careful if something invaded again.
When Simon pushed his hair back and Izzy saw there was no mark her mouth fell open before curving into a smile, “Oh Simon, that’s amazing” she said throwing herself at him and kissing him soundly. She knew he’d be very happy to have it gone, it was a little troublesome with both of them being cautious when they were out and about together.
Simon hadn’t expected Izzy to throw herself at him, but he certainly didn’t object and kissed her back, a grin forming against her lips, “It’s almost too good to be true.” He was expecting to wake up at any moment to find out that this was the dream and he still had the Mark. “I mean, yeah, now I’m more vulnerable again, but at least I don’t have to worry about someone accidently turning to dust if they bump into me.” Sure, the Mark had saved him on a few occasions, but he would be much happier without it.
Izzy smiled back, keeping her arms around him, “You’re still formidable without the mark” she promised him before adding cheekily, “And you have me to protect you” She kissed him again, “This is definitely a good thing, so did you lose it in the dreams too? What happened?” she asked, Simon tended to run a little ahead of her own dreams which could be frustrating but also helped her be a little more prepared when her own came.
“You know, most guys would feel emasculated if there superhero girlfriends had to protect them, but I’m perfectly okay with that,” Simon grinned back and kissed her once again before sitting back to explain the dream to her, “It was a whole thing with trying to get a weapon that could kill someone so we summoned Raziel and he wasn’t happy about me having the Mark. He gave us a weapon, but stripped me of the Mark in exchange.” He didn’t want to be too specific with the whole Sebastian back from the dead and connected to Jace thing cause he wasn’t exactly sure where she was in her dreams. It was confusing that he, Izzy and Clary all seemed to be in different places.
“That’s because you are far better than most guys” Izzy assured him as they settled together so he could tell her more. “Well that’s not a bad exchange, I suppose it could have been a lot worse right? I can’t believe you met Raziel, what was he like?” Izzy asked curiously, she wasn’t too far away from his dreams but it was always hard to pinpoint. So much went on in them.
Simon smiled and wrapped an arm around Izzy, “He was very big and very angry that I had the Mark. Of course, if I hadn’t had it, he probably would have killed me for summoning him.” Simon hoped that they never had to summon Raziel in the waking world cause without the Mark, he wouldn’t be able to be the one to have a heart to heart with the angel.
“Even more reason to be glad you had it then” Izzy said, trying to imagine what the angel looked like. Probably as she’d imagined, big, scary and angel-like. “I’m very glad you’re alright” she told him squeezing him and nuzzling into his chest briefly.
