Who: Lara and Bo
What: A romantic dinner date with discussions of the upcoming wedding and honeymoon.
When: After this exchange
Where: An upscale sushi restaurant
Warnings: Some discussions about sex, but otherwise it's mild!

To say that Bo was looking forward to the dinner was an understatement. She liked going out with Lara, and the potential for seducing Lara all over again? Bo definitely wasn’t going to pass that up. Which was why she spent a while getting ready. She wanted to look her best, opting for a black dress that was somewhat conservative and yet showed off enough of her cleavage and skin to be sexy. She pulled half of her hair back and added some curl to the ends. The rest of her make-up was the usual heavy on the eyeliner and eye shadow, light on everything else. With a pair of heels, she was finally ready.

“Well, we’ll see if Lara drops dead on sight or not,” she quipped as she gave herself a once over in the mirror before deeming herself ready and she finally headed downstairs, ready for the date with her wife.

And yet again it dawned on her that in a couple weeks’ time, they would legally be married and she felt intense butterflies in her stomach as she couldn’t help but glance at the engagement ring on her finger. Soon there would be a wedding ring there to match it. And she had a bit of a dopey grin at the thought as well.

Feeling daring, Lara had gone with a red dress, that revealed more than she typically allowed herself to reveal. It was entirely for Bo’s benefit though she quickly forgot her own name when she came down and saw Bo standing there in that dress, with that dopey grin on her face. “...wow. Careful, I might not let you leave the property wearing that.”

Bo was so beautiful. And sexy. Unbelieveably sexy. Lara didn’t know how she got so lucky, how she deserved her future wife.

Hearing Lara, she looked up and her jaw pretty much hit the floor. “You look stunning,” she said, looking Lara over. That dress was daring, and Lara looked so beautiful. She really wondered how she’d managed to get so lucky, that this woman wanted to marry her, but she wasn’t going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

“I could really say the same for you. But then we wouldn’t get our dinner date, and that would make me sad.”

“Special plans to charm me?” Lara checked her earrings in the mirror. She didn’t typically do earrings, except for the two on her left side, but it was something special today, so she’d allowed it. Then she offered her arm to Bo. “Ready when you are.”

“I’d be lying if I said no,” she responded with a smile. Bo had to admire the earrings on Lara. She was also wearing a pair herself, though Bo typically did wear studs. Tonight she wore a pair of silver dangly earrings, to give a little bling. “I’m ready,” she said with a wider smile, taking Lara’s arm.

“I’ve always liked it when you are your most charming,” Lara pointed out, eyes helpfully dipping to Bo’s chest. That wasn’t the only charming thing about her but she was particularly happy that they existed. She leaned over to kiss her. “Taking your car?”

“Luckily for you, I am very charming,” she grinned. Of course she noted where Lara’s gaze dipped to. Bo was aware of her many charming assets and the various ways in which she could use them. It wasn’t really a coincidence that her wardrobe consisted of plunging necklines of different varieties. She kissed Lara back, then smiled. “If you don’t mind. I made a reservation earlier to ensure we got a table.”

She didn’t say where, and that was on purpose. Because Bo had made a reservation at the sushi restaurant where she and Lara had had their first official date after becoming a couple over a year earlier. Bo was a romantic like that.

Bo’s wardrobe was a blessing from various deities, though Lara didn’t really pray to any. Would Bo’s tits be considered deities? That was a legitimate question, one Lara planned to pay particular attention to later that night.

“I don’t mind. That means you get to drive and I get to stare at you.” Dating for so long and still amazed by Bo still kind of amazed Lara. She hoped this feeling never faded.

The blessing from various deities part could be true, considering Bo was fae and was basically immortal. Fae were basically like gods in a way. Not that Bo considered herself like that because she didn’t. Hell, most of the time she forgot about the immortal part. And she did take after her mother, so she had good genes?

“At least you’ll have a good view.” Bo said with a smile, then grabbed her keys and clutch on the way out. She opened the passenger side door for Lara, then once she was in, Bo went around and got in the driver’s side, started the engine and headed for the sushi restaurant. And she couldn’t quite wait to see the look on Lara’s face when she realized where they were going.

Lara wasn’t even paying much attention. Her mind was occupied with Bo. And okay with some of her research earlier. She just worked that way. Lara put her hand on Bo’s. “I’ve been wanting to go out again for awhile.”

Smiling, Bo threaded her fingers through Lara’s and gave her hand a little squeeze. “Me too. You know, maybe we should designate a date night. It doesn’t have to always be going out somewhere, but maybe it can be our thing, a night for just us.”

“Designated dates? Wouldn’t that get...stale?” Lara liked the idea. She liked that kind of order and scheduling. But she didn’t know if that would make Bo bored.

“That’s why it’d be something different each time, maybe. Like, I don’t know, you suggested we take cooking classes. So why not also do something like learn a martial art together or something? Then other times we can go to dinner or a museum or something?” Bo suggested.

“So keep it a little varied?” Lara liked that idea too. Dinners, museums, cooking classes. She loved Bo, but she loved doing things with Bo. Really, what was the point of being with someone if you didn’t enjoy doing things with them?

“Yeah, why not? We’re both women of action, so keeping it a little varied might be a positive to us both.” Bo said with a smile. It was going to be fun, though. Even if Bo wondered if they’d spend more time laughing at their lack of cooking skills than actually cooking edible things, but they’d find out once they got there.

That’s when Bo pulled into the parking lot of the sushi restaurant and grinned at Lara. “And we’re here.”

Lara sat up a little straighter as she recognized the place. “Bo…”

It really was the place they’d gone on their first date. Lara hadn’t quite forgotten about it but she hadn’t thought about going back. “This is perfect.”

Bo grinned when Lara recognized it. She lifted her hand to her lips and pressed a kiss to the back of it. “I had hoped you’d like it. I promise to still not go swimming in the chocolate fountain thing.”

“We’ll just have to buy our own,” Lara pointed out. She touched Bo’s face, fingers trailing over her lips, before she pulled away and got out of the car. Lara was suddenly a little giddy. Killer, explorer, survivor...and she felt like a teenager going to prom.

Not that she knew that experience.

“I could totally get on board with that.” Bo said with a grin. She really would go swimming in a pool of chocolate if she had the chance. Partially because chocolate and partially so Lara could lick it off of her. Getting out of the car, she joined Lara and offered her arm to her. “Hopefully you brought your appetite with you.”

“I did,” Lara said, looking at Bo like she wasn’t thinking of food. She took Bo’s hand for the walk into the sushi place, having grown a lot more comfortable with public displays of affection. Even if it was just handholding.

“Good,” she said with a smile, holding Lara’s hand as they walked inside. Bo was respectful of Lara and public displays of affection, but she did like holding her hand and such in public. She was proud to be with her, to be marrying her, and she would shout it from the mountain tops as well if she needed to.

Once inside, they were taken to a table and seated. It was a table where Lara could sit with her back to the wall if she wanted. That was another thing that Bo was always mindful of. She knew Lara could get jumpy when approached a certain way, so she did her best to never sneak up on her, especially from behind. She’d only come up behind Lara when Lara knew she was there.

Lara hated it sometimes. The jumpiness, the constant need to watch her back, the triggers that sometimes came without warning. But she had learned to balance it a little and to recognize when something bad was coming. Bo went a long way towards helping with that, just by virtue of how mindful she was. Still, she still wanted a concealed carry permit.

She settled into her seat. “Did I tell you you look lovely?”

Whatever she could do that could hopefully cut down on Lara’s jumpiness, Bo was more than happy to do. It didn’t even matter what that entailed, she’d do it if it would make Lara more comfortable.

“Thank you. You look beautiful as well.” Bo couldn’t remember if she’d said that already or not. And if she had, it didn’t hurt to reiterate it. That was another thing she was determined to do, help try to change Lara’s opinion of herself little by little.

Lara nudged Bo with her foot, then settled back into her chair and looked around. “The view is as good as I remember. Never really thought we’d come here again. You’re so thoughtful.”

She leaned forward, giving Bo a little bit of a view as she rested her chin on a hand. “I love you.”

“I’d had a thought of recreating our first date-date, but that kind of involves a snow storm and getting stuck in the Rover. We can try that again when winter comes around.” Bo said with a bright grin. Her gaze did, of course, lower as Lara gave her a bit of a view.

“I love you, too.” Bo gazed at Lara adoringly. She hadn’t thought it was possible for someone to be this happy, but here she was, proving herself wrong. Lara definitely had all of Bo’s amazingly squishy, bleeding heart in her hands. “Would you like some wine?”

“I don’t remember how we didn’t end up.. You know.” Lara tucked some hair behind her ear. “It was a very good date. Snow and everything. But I think this is a better thing to relive. We already did the snow thing for our anniversary.”

Going back, she wouldn’t have changed a thing. “Yes, wine sound good.”

“I think our first time was better served on Christmas than in the back seat of your car.” Bo chuckled. “But I think it all worked out well. We’re still here and getting married in a couple weeks. I felt coming here would kind of bring that full circle, in a way.”

Bo nodded and ordered some wine for them when the waiter came. “When we first met for drinks at a bar, I had no idea that we’d end up here. My attraction to you aside, I wanted to make a new friend, and I got something way better out of it.”

Lara’s face tinged darker, and she looked down at the table. “Still can’t believe I moved that fast.” By all rights Bo should have taken months to get into Lara’s pants. But Lara had just...really fallen for her. Quickly.

“Friendship, and a lifelong partner.”

“I guess that’s just one more reason why people say you’ll know when you meet ‘the one.’ I hadn’t put much stock into that until I met you.” Bo would have waited for Lara if she’d had to. Though the waiting would’ve potentially been lethal to her if she’d been a succubus.

“I’d say family.” Lara was her family now, just like Kenzi. And she’d found her biological family, on her mother’s side anyways, and begun repairing her relationship with her adoptive parents. Even to the point where she had invited them to the wedding.

The word family made Lara’s throat tighten. Family was something she was unused to. There’d been Sam, and Roth. And now Bo and Kenzi. She had a family again and it made everything inside of her hurt. In the good way. “Family.”

Family was something Bo had gone too long without, and now she never wanted to lose it again. She reached out to take Lara’s hand in hers. “I’m really glad that life brought us together. Without you, I’d probably still be a lost girl.”

“I’m sure you would have found yourself eventually,” Lara said, squeezing Bo’s hand. “But I like to think you’re the greatest treasure I ever uncovered.”

From anyone else that would have sounded so corny. But Lara had seen many treasures, and the gem before her was the brightest.

“You did tell me a while back that you had a knack for finding lost things, and you were quite right.” Bo smiled. “You are the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I’m blessed to have you in my life, and to be part of yours.” The Tomb Raider and the Succubus. It was like the title of some sappy romance novel or something.

Sam and Kenzi would probably write it like bad fanfiction. Lara didn’t let go of Bo’s hand, preferring the warmth of her skin while they talked. “You were never irrecoverable, but you were always priceless. I’d die for you.” And kill for her.

The smile on her face was warm and wide, perhaps even a little shy at the comment about being priceless. “I’d die for you as well. But then we have that in common. We both fight for the ones we love.” They were both fighters, willing to protect their loved ones as much as possible.

“We do.” Maybe some day that might turn into a problem, but it wasn’t something that could be predicted. Lara just hoped she was never faced with another situation like Yamatai. Putting an arrow in Sam had been a consideration. Her hand tightened in Bo’s.

Bo knew there was a non-zero chance that Lara would have to stop her some day. There was a dark side of herself that she couldn’t control. Thus far it had only come out to protect those she cared about, but she couldn’t guarantee that would always be the case. She squeezed Lara’s hand back. “I have to say, I’m looking forward to our honeymoon. Getting off this continent is really exciting.”

“I really can’t wait. Just getting away from the OC alone is worth it. But the rest of it only makes it better.” This was good. She stopped thinking about Yamatai.

“I agree. Do you already have hikes planned out?” Bo had always wanted to travel, and now she got to go somewhere with Lara. She was looking forward to doing things there with Lara, seeing the sights, experiencing another culture. Lara was more experienced at these things, so she was letting her take the lead on it. Bo, however, would ensure she took a really good camera with them to document the places they went to on the honeymoon.

“More hikes than you probably want,” Lara teased. “More than that too. There so much of India and its culture to explore, that I don’t want to just focus on the history, but the way it is now, too.”

Too many people forgot about those that came after the ruins, Lara included.

“I’m totally not complaining. I’ll pack a couple pairs of tennis shoes and such.” Bo actually did own a couple pairs of tennis shoes that she used when she was working out. Most of her boots would most likely stay here. “I’m really excited about this. Exploring another culture, and being able to do it with you will be amazing.”

“Lesson number one,” Lara said. “It’s their culture, we’re there to appreciate but not appropriate.”

It wasn’t really a lesson and she was saying it with a smile, but it was something Lara had tried to drill into herself. There was a line between enjoying a vacation and a people and the people being props or things to be used. Lara wanted to avoid that. “I really can’t wait.”

“I know. I plan on taking a lot of pictures to capture the moments. No doubt Kenzi and Sam will want all the details of what we did and saw. Photographic evidence helps in telling it.” Bo wasn’t exactly a photographer by any means, but she could take pictures well enough to capture the essence of a moment. Plus she would ensure to get plenty of shots of her and Lara together as well.

“There are some details that are best kept private,” Lara pointed out. While, once or twice she’d toyed with the idea of sexy photos, she’d never done more than a suggestive selfie. And she likely never would. It wasn’t in her nature and the last thing she wanted to do was ever risk that getting out into the wild.

“Of course. I don’t kiss and tell. Besides, Kenz doesn’t want to know about those things anyway.” In the dreams, Kenzi overheard a lot of Bo’s sexual escapades, so there she didn’t need to be told or ask about them. Bo smiled, rubbing her thumb against Lara’s hand. “We’ll just tell them the more exciting things we did and saw. I’ll have to get Kenzi a present there. Something shiny, maybe.”

“Sam does.” Lara scrunched up her face. Sam was horrible about that kind of thing. She liked to tease and overshare all the time, though when it was clear it bothered Lara, she toned it down. Lara came to find that she didn’t entirely mind, as long as it was in moderation and not in public.

Bo chuckled. “I suppose it’s part of her charm?” It was definitely something she’d noticed in the short time she’d known Sam. It was also probably one of those things where Lara would never want to be in a room with Sam and Bo considering how they both could talk at times. “At least we’ll have other tales to regale them with, as well as plenty of pictures to keep them occupied.” But of course as it was a honeymoon, there would be sex as well, otherwise it wouldn’t precisely be a honeymoon.

“I’ll be trying to take them properly,” Lara said. Sam wouldn’t let her hear the end of it if she didn’t take pictures like an expert. “She forgets I had to take a class too, so I can take proper pictures of my digs and finds. That reminds me, she said the handfasting video is almost done. And she wants to compare her pictures with Kenzi’s polaroids.”

“I’ll just have to mimic you. I don’t know how to take pictures properly. Which might pain Sam if she ever saw mine.” Bo didn’t have an understanding of light and angles and all of that which tended to go into properly taken photos. She had the basic turn on the flash if it was too dark kind of sense about taking pictures. “Oh okay I’ll ask Kenzi about that. Or I can just pass her Sam’s contact info and go from there.”

“That just means your pictures are very good for pranking. We can take terrible pictures, wait for her to flip out, then show her the real ones.” Lara thought about the idea of Sam and Kenzi working together and shivered. “I feel like we’ve just initiated the apocalypse.”

Bo laughed and gave Lara’s hand a little squeeze. “I almost feel bad for Sam, but I somehow feel like she’s brought it on herself.” And from what she knew about Sam? She liked to tease Lara and give her a hard time just as much as Bo did. “We probably have, just judging from how they got along at the handfasting. But I think you and I can give them hell right back.” She said with a smirk.

Giving Sam and Kenzi hell was certainly a fun idea. And they both deserved it for various reasons. Lara relished the opportunity almost as much as the trip itself. “Is it bad I’ve made a detailed itinerary that we’re going to mostly ignore?”

There were must see things, and then a bunch of little things. Lara needed to plan out the general framework of the trip but she was willing to flow with it if things changed.

“No, it’s not. It’s probably for the better to have a lot of things planned than not enough.” Bo was more than happy to go wherever Lara wanted to take her to. “But I’m certain whatever we do end up actually doing is going to be amazing.”

“If I’ve planned this right, you won’t be able to choose where the most amazing place was.” But if Bo was there, then all of the places would be amazing. Lara reached for her drink, feeling suddenly serious. “You have no idea how much it means to me that you’re interested in this sort of thing.”

“I’m going to hold you to that,” she responded with a smile. Bo sipped her own wine, a warmer, more fond smile crossing her face. “I’ve always wanted to travel and see far-off lands. And being able to do that with you makes it all the more special to me.”

Lara didn’t think she’d love Bo as much as she did if they’d been incompatible that way. For her it was part of the sex appeal and always would be. Bo was brilliant and Lara knew she didn’t always believe the best in herself.

“You’ll get quite the education.” She winked, know Bo could take that several ways and meaning all of them.

“I do think I’ll enjoy this education. After all, India is where the kama sutra originated.” Bo just casually slipped that reference in with a wink of her own. She gave Lara’s hand a squeeze. She knew there was more than one meaning to what Lara had said, but she had to acknowledge the one that would make Lara blush.

Bo’s timing was perfect. Lara started choking on her drink, then swallowed. Her face burned red, “I expected that but it was still a little bit of a shock. Is there a position you haven’t tried yet?”

As soon as she said that she realized how it sounded. “I mean, with me. That you want to try.”

Bo smirked, though obviously ensured that Lara didn’t choke so bad that she needed help. But she loved that color red on her face. It gave her life whenever she got her to turn that color. She chuckled, not at all offended by the initial question. “Yes, there are a few that I’d like to try with you. How flexible can you be?” She knew how strong Lara was, but flexibility was different.

Lara ducked her head just a little, before lifting her eyes to meet Bo’s. “There’s really only one way to find out.”

She’d have to find the author of that damn book and smack her. Because she was pretty sure only a woman would write a book like that. A lot of emphasis on pleasure for both partners, after all.

“Indeed there is.” Bo smiled warmly. “Though what about you? Are there positions or things in general you want to try with me?” It was a two way street, plus Bo was curious what went through Lara’s mind on that subject sometimes.

Looking like a deer in headlights, Lara picked up her drink and drained it in one go. “I uhm.”

Her face had somehow gotten even redder as she tried to phrase what she was thinking of. She spun her hands around each other after putting her drink down. “You know how I always use … things… on you. I want you to…”

And she couldn’t say it. Not in public!

The fact that Lara’s face got even redder than it had been before was a bit of a feat. And working in Lara’s favor was that Bo could easily decipher what she meant. She leaned over the table a bit, lowering her voice a bit so that only Lara could hear. “You want me to use them on you?” She said it for her.

Breath catching noticeably in her throat, Lara nodded. She’d gone back and forth on the idea for months now, but more and more she wanted to try it. She saw what it did to Bo, and she wasn’t disgusted at the idea. Certain versions of her dream self had enjoyed penetration very, very much, it had just been the men that had bothered her upon waking. Changing nothing else and swapping them out with Bo? Had actually been a very nice thought.

“Then we shall do that,” Bo responded with a smile. She knew it wasn’t the most comfortable thing for Lara, so she wasn’t going to drag out the subject in public. But she at least now knew that Lara wanted to try it, and Bo was more than happy to do just that. She sipped her drink. “Would like another glass of wine?” She asked, letting the subject shift so Lara could start breathing again and maybe turn back to a normal color.

“Good. Great.” Lara nodded. A year ago she never would have had that kind of conversation, ever. She’d prefer getting shot at. Easier to understand and deal with.

“Please.” She set aside her glass and rubbed at her face. “How can a conversation work up an appetite?”

Bo liked seeing this progress Lara was making. Clearly it had been Bo’s influence in the matter, though she never forced or dragged such topics out of Lara. She simply let her talk about as she felt okay with, then let her off the hook before she died.

“Because it involves me,” she suggested amusedly. When the waiter returned, she asked for another glass of wine for Lara.

Bo existed, and she didn’t push or press so Lara found herself watching her and learning from her and discovering that she enjoyed it a little bit, as long as it was with Bo.

“Thank you.” She took the wine when it was poured and wet her throat. “It’s kind of exciting. When it involves you.” Sam had called Bo a wonderful influence.

“I’m glad that you think so. I certainly want it to be exciting.” Bo sipped her wine, finally getting to putting in an order once Lara’s glass was refilled. Once their orders were taken, Bo smiled. “So, do you think we’ve got everything in order for the wedding?” She shifted the topic a little again, giving Lara some breathing room if she wanted it.

With the exception of Sam and Roth not being able to attend, Lara couldn’t think of anything. Both things were disappointing, but she’d at least had Sam at the Handfasting. Maybe there was a way to get signal at sea so Roth could be there in spirit. “I think so. Just need one more cake tasting I think. Then it’s just… waiting.”

And waiting? Was the worst part.

“Wait is the worst part, my god.” Bo complained. Which it was. And she was getting a little nervous. Okay, maybe a lot nervous the more she thought about the wedding approaching, but it was the normal kind of nervous. The kind of ‘oh god wedding is fast approaching’ nervous. “Luckily my dress came in last week and no more alterations are needed. So I just need to ensure I don’t stress-eat and gain a bunch of weight.” Bo joked. Though it was pretty impossible for her to gain that much weight in a short period of time. Mostly because Bo was very active and exercised regularly.

“I’ll keep you properly exercised,” Lara promised. She’d been mum on exactly what she was going to do, but Bo had gotten to see her in a dress already once. Lara might just have to go maximum gay.

The thought of wearing something other than a dress to her wedding hadn’t crossed her mind. Bo did like dressing up and being girly when she had the opportunity to embrace it all. “Why thank you, I certainly appreciate the exercise.” Which came in many forms, of course. While some people may have abstained from sex before their wedding, Bo literally couldn’t, unless she wanted to run the risk of dying of starvation before the wedding.

“So at what point do we stop not seeing each other before the wedding?” Lara asked. She knew that was a tradition, and she did want to abide by as many as she could. Not that she was traditional, but it was coming from a professional, cultural aspect.

That or she just wanted to be surprised when she saw Bo again.

“I believe the morning of? Though if you wanted we could start it earlier. Just not too far in advance unless you want me to be extra hungry on the wedding night.” Bo added with a bit of a smirk. She could go a couple days without sex or a hit of chi. Any longer and the wedding pictures would definitely need to be photoshopped on Bo’s part.

Lara smirked back. “What if I wanted you extra hungry on our wedding night?” She might have developed a thing for being a Bo!snack, though she sometimes felt guilty for it, like she was fetishising something Bo couldn’t control.

“I suppose that would depend upon whether you’d like more focus on the hunger part or the romance part.” Bo replied. She wouldn’t mind being extra hungry, and she knew Lara tended to like when Bo went more primal when she was extra hungry. However, Bo did still enjoy the thought of savoring the wedding night as opposed to making Lara a snack for part of it.

Bo didn’t even even need to ask that. Lara would pick romance all the way. “I think you know what I’d say to that, love. I want you to romance the fuck out of me.”

“Just wait until you see what I’ve got in store for you.” Bo smiled warmly. And oh, she had plans. She had new lingerie specifically to be unveiled on the wedding night. Among other things.

Plans were good. Lara just hoped she survived the wedding day without going comatose from sheer overload. But for Bo, it would be worth it.
