Who: Alucard and Integra
When: Late Feb/Early March
Where: Their home
What: Sparring
Rating/Warnings: Low/None
Status: Complete
Integra stretched as she headed down to their basement. She was antsy. She’d figured out if she let her mind wander and latch onto the more, ah, violent undercurrents, of her nature she’d have to work them out somehow or she’d go stir crazy. She hadn’t had the time he’d had, at least he had the Dreams, to get used to some of the more uninhibited side of their nature. To Integra it was incredibly hard to wrap her brain around.
She was, even in her ‘real’ life, relatively proper and relatively stoic. She rebelled in her own way - MMA - and all, but even then she maintained modesty and manners. Now she was happy to punch an idiot in the face and think about taking out an idiot president by snacking on him. Violence did not fix everything, thank you very much, and she needed to keep that part in check.
So she marched on down in her leggings and a tank top and plucked her fencing foil from the wall, and began working through a few steps while she waited for Alucard.
It was less finesse and more stabbity, but whatever, right?
~
Alucard was certainly lucky to have the dreams to draw on, he was much better adjusted than Integra and while he would and did do all he could to help there were some things Integra could only learn herself. And her patience was already limited before the change, after it she found it harder.
Meeting her down in their home gym he watched her from the door for a moment as she went through the movements, “You need more fluidity to your movements” he told her moving closer, “It’s an extension of your arm remember, less jerky movements and more sweeping grace”
***
She was notoriously short on patience. It only got shorter after the change, and was a daily battle. Thankfully Alucard didn't mind if she took it out on him in her worst days. It kept her from hurting random people. She was hoping to get a hold on it soon but this year was making it tough.
She knew he was there before he spoke but she waited until he spoke. “I know. I know I'm just wound like a spring today.” She lowered the foil and sighed. “I understand you better though, well dream you.”
***
Alucard didn’t mind at all, after all it was really his responsibility - he’d turned her and he would be the one to help her. Even if that meant letting her take out her more violent impulses out on him. It was all like foreplay to Alucard anyway, she was always at her most glorious in her anger.
“Oh? Does that influence how you view dream me now?” he asked curiously, he’d always been thankful she was somewhat less reserved than her dream self.
***
“Actually, yes.” A good fight with him always got her riled up. Fighting with Alucard almost always ended with them naked somewhere in the house. That was half the fun, though. She was much less shy about it now too.
Integra started again, trying to relax a little. She was rusty, it'd been awhile. And that irritated her. She muttered a curse at her own patience. “I'm assuming to some degree dream you has all these impulses I have. It's easier to understand some behaviour now that I'm experiencing it.”
***
Fighting with Integra was very much one of Alucard’s favourite things, the nakedness was definitely a happy bonus.
“Indeed and I was as frustrated as you at first” Alucard told her, “I got better with time but, well, you know dream me and his tendency to get into situations” he grinned as he picked up a foil of his own.
***
Integra glowered at him. “Yes he got into trouble just being out and about.” She teased as she looked over at him. “He had plenty of time to learn. But still!” Oh the trouble he was to her.
She turned to face him, lifting the foil to salute. “You were an endless source of frustration.” She wondered how Integra in her dreams didn't have a ulcer.
***
Alucard chuckled, “Not my fault” he claimed, “The world is full of trouble, I couldn’t have avoided it if I tried” And he had never tried. Things were far too interesting with trouble around.
Saluting himself he nodded, “You know it wouldn’t have been so bad if dream you had just relaxed a little, honestly you were driving yourself to an early heart attack” he smirked before making the first move.
***
“Mmm you had horrible impulse control my love. I'm terribly surprised no one really used that against you. I'm pleased to see you, here, have more self control.” She parried the first move, it was sloppy, she really needed to get back to practicing.
“Except I live a long life, you know.” She smirked and made to attack. “Though I do agree, how can anyone work like that and relax??” She was a workaholic but even she knew better. “Maybe she should have taken you up on your offer.”
**
“I don’t know what you mean, I could control my impulses perfectly well” Alucard smirked, “I am the king of self control” he winked before countering his attack.
“I would never have stopped offering” Alucard told her, moving forward again, “I would have liked nothing more than to free her a little. From her work and herself”
***
She rolled her eyes at him. “Yeah okay, I'll believe that when I see pigs fly with their own wings.” Integra liked the banter while they fought. It was fun.
“A change of perspective may have saved her a lot of trouble to be honest with you. Though knowing you, you also would have liked to say you enjoyed winning her over too.” She stepped forward to try and squeak past his defenses.
***
Alucard chuckled and gave a shrug, “I tried” he said, though admittedly not very much.
“Of course, it wouldn’t have been entirely untrue. Part of her was tempted, I could practically taste it each time I offered” Alucard said, smiling as she got close then engaging her foil with his own.
***
Integra rolled her eyes at that one. “Yeah, okay, sure I believe you.” she teased knowing that he really didn’t try all that hard. He gave a passing attempt at trying before willfully ignoring it. Men!
“I feel like she was attracted to the idea of being better able to serve the Crown and country, but she was too proper and too something to really embrace the idea. I mean, after all, if you are on a mission to eradicate vampire threats but you have your own on staff, you’re already half there.” she grinned.
***
It was a version of trying at least, Alucard figured it was never specifically stated just how much effort he should put in so really it should be enough.
“Ah crown and country, if only it had served her half as well as she did it” Alucard said thoughtfully, “Still it is what it is I suppose, at least here I have you for eternity” he smiled his predator smile.
***
Integra would head desk at the thought - at least her dreamself would. He was something else and it was alright. She stepped in to attack as he spoke, she was ever so grateful he was here and they’d found a balanced footing.
She was really glad her father hadn’t gotten too upset about them either. “Ending up beneath the Tower really seems like she put in a lot of effort with very little return. Illogical.” she shook her head at him. “For me, that would just piss me off.” She laughed at his next words, grinning a little herself. “You poor thing, stuck with me for a very long eternity.”
~~~
It showed how well attuned they were and how well they worked that they were having this discussion while fencing, whether she realised or not Integra’s moves were smoothing out and becoming more fluid.
“Oh I have no doubt that you would make them regret trying to put you under the tower, as I said less stubborn here - which is certainly saying something” he winked, “Mmm I would never use the words stuck my darling” he said as he got under her defences and close enough to place a kiss on her lips, “Honored is the word”
***
She wasn't paying attention, letting her muscles so they're own thing. She was good enough to keep it up during a conversation with him. She loved that. She was learning to be better about it.
She returned his kiss, her other hand pressing a small knife against his ribs, a grin on her face “Surprise.”
***
Alucard’s smile widened, “Wonderful” he praised her, hand against her back bringing her closer the knife piercing him even as he kissed her again. Only someone like Alucard would be turned on by her besting him. “You are marvellous” he told her even as his body shifted and the knife fell, his body unharmed.
***
Integra was pleased as she was pulled closer. Normal people would drop the knife and avoid actually stabbing the person you loved. But not Integra. She was just as bad as he was, and she nipped at his lip as the blade pierced him, then let it go to clatter to the floor.
“I learned from the best after all.”
***
“Flattery will get you everywhere darling” Alucard drawled even as his body shadowed and returned. Luckily stabbings and shootings didn’t really harm him or even slow him down but it was a strange kind of foreplay for them both.
***
“Where's it going to get me tonight?” Her words dripped like honey as she rested her foil against the wall, watching him out of the corner of her eye. Integra liked to think she had been mild mannered at some point in her life.
But she struggled to think of when.
****
“Anything your beautiful mind can think of” Alucard told her, his hands sliding down to squeeze her ass as he brought her close to kiss her deeply.
***
Integra laughed, head tilted back, enjoying the moment before he pulled her into the kiss. She sighed against it, and not for the first time decided coming to America had been worth the headache. This place? Was perfect. “I love you, you know.” she said lightly against his lips.
***
“I love you too” he said with a smile, holding her close and tight. Moving had been the best decision he’d ever made and allowing himself to get involved with Integra had been very much the right thing to do. Now they would be together forever and he couldn’t imagine anything better.
