Who: Jeremy Gilbert and Myrcella Baratheon When: Backdated: Tuesday, February 14th. Early Evening Where: Hot Air Balloon What: Valentine's Day Hot Air Balloon Ride Rating/Warnings: Family Friendly Status: Complete
Jeremy had never been in a hot air balloon before so when Katherine had suggested it, he’d jumped on that one. After three years together, Jeremy had wanted to do something really special this year and what could be more special than a hot air balloon ride? He’d also made reservations at a restaurant that they liked for later on and had sent Myrcella flowers earlier in the day before he’d gotten home from school.
He’d made reservations for their balloon ride to coincide with the sun setting so that they could see the view from that vantage point. “So, what do you think?” He asked, standing behind Myrcella, his arms around her waist as they gazed out at the sunset while the attendant handled mechanics of the balloon.
Myrcella felt very spoilt, Jeremy was so good to her and the flower delivery earlier in the day had been wonderful. All her clients had commented on them as she’d put them on display in her converted treatment room. Even Irisa had to admit they were really very pretty.
When he’d surprised her with a sunset balloon ride she’d been amazed, it wasn’t anything she’d ever done before and any nerves soon left her once they were up. “I think you are amazing and this is the most incredible view I’ve ever seen” she told him, turning her head to smile up at him.
Jeremy liked doing things that Myrcella didn’t expect, which was why this had sounded like the best idea when Katherine had mentioned it, “I’m glad you’re enjoying it,” He smiled as he rested his chin on her shoulder, brown eyes focused on the view in front of them, “It’s also, a good thing you aren’t secretly scared of heights; otherwise this would have backfired on me big time.”
“I was nervous at first but it’s gorgeous up here” Myrcella admitted enjoying the view and the close proximity of her boyfriend, “Now if we’d gone to a spider and snake petting zoo we’d have had problems” she teased him, she didn’t have many phobias but spiders and snakes were definitely two of them.
Jeremy couldn’t help but laugh at that, “A spider and snake petting zoo? Do they actually have those?” That sounded like something that Damon would be into, but definitely not him. “They probably wouldn’t have too many repeat customers if they had poisonous ones there; considering they’d probably be dead.”
Myrcella laughed, “It definitely wouldn’t be a popular attraction if it did exist” she agreed, a bright smile on her face, “But you know what I mean. This is perfect, you chose well” He really was the best boyfriend ever in her eyes and she counted herself very lucky to have him.
Jeremy pressed a kiss to Myrcella’s cheek as he continued watching the view over her shoulder, “I have to admit, it wasn’t all my idea. Katherine actually suggested it and I thought it would be fun and different.” He was glad that his sister was back in town and was looking forward to introducing her and Myrcella soon.
“Yeah? I’ll have to thank her then. Maybe you should invite her over for dinner sometime?” she suggested, Myrcella couldn’t deny that she was somewhat hesitant when it came to Jeremy.’s sisters. She couldn’t forget how Elena had been so dismissive of the way Damon had treated Jeremy and as a result her protectiveness of her boyfriend was pretty high.
“She wants us to go out to dinner actually,” Jeremy knew that chances were high that Katherine would spend most of the time telling Myrcella as many embarrassing stories about him as she could remember. “For a proper meeting.”
“Oh that would be nice. We should definitely arrange that” Myrcella said with a smile and a nod, “I want to get to know her better and, of course, hear more stories about you” Because Myrcella was naturally thinking along those lines too.
“I knew you would. You’re gonna ask her for the embarrassing stories, aren’t you?” Jeremy made a mental note to text Katherine before the end of the week to set up a time to get together for dinner as well as see how she was doing with the dreams. He felt a little guilty that he hadn’t mentioned them to his sister before, but at the same time he’d been hoping she might not dream. “Katherine will be more than happy to oblige you there.”
“Of course I am. I can’t pass up this prime chance. You’ve heard most of mine” Myrcella reminded him, since Tommen and her Uncle Jaime had decided to tell him the majority during their visit at Christmas, “It’s only fair don’t you think?” she smiled linking her fingers with his.
“I suppose someone needs to do it since my parents can’t,” Jeremy was sure that were they alive, at least one of his parents would have told Myrcella all of his most embarrassing stories. “So that role falls to Katherine.” Even if Elena were around, she wasn’t the type to purposely try to embarrass someone, even if it was harmless, like in this case.
Myrcella squeezed his hand, “I am sure she’ll do a good job, in fact she’ll probably love to see what stories she can remember to make you cringe” she smiled, glad that Katherine was around again.
“At least she won’t have any of the embarrassing pictures to go along with it,” When he’d passed over handling of the family home to his aunt, he’d taken anything of real importance and had left the rest, knowing that Jenna would take care of the rest and the things he took included the family photos which were currently in the back of his and Myrcella’s bedroom closet.
“We could always fetch them out to help her storytelling along” Myrcella said with a smile, “You were such a cute little kid” she added because she’d seen some of them already.
Jeremy laughed and shook his head, “I think they’ll stay right where they are.” The stories that Katherine would bring up would be enough; they didn’t need visual aides to go along with them, “See, you already know I was cute, so we don’t need to take out the pictures,” He kissed Myrcella’s temple as they watched the horizon darken just a little more before being informed that they were going to start descending now.
“You’ll always be cute” Myrcella told him as she settled back into his arms, this had been the most amazing Valentine’s surprise and as they began their descent she counted herself lucky to have such an incredible boyfriend.
