Clint didn't have any illusions about it being a date thing either. Eowyn had said she didn't do those, and whatever the reason, you couldn't blame a woman for that. It meant, usually, they'd been really hurt sometime in the past, and while he wasn't going to come out and ask her that, he knew it was a possibility, and also that he wasn't the kind of person to swoop in all heroic like and heal everybody's wounds. He may have had a tiny bit of medic training, but that didn't mean that he could handle bigger wounds like that. Still, a friend was always a plus, and he wanted to go ahead and make those, so that was what he planned on.
Now that everything was out of the car, and he was on his way to find Eowyn, he shot off a quick text, asking where she was and letting her know he'd gotten there, then, when he noticed no one was around yet, surreptitiously reached up and checked the controls on his hearing aids.
It'd be bad if things started beeping during a conversation, after all. They'd killed real dates before, more than once in fact. He also didn't want them to completely show. He wasn't exactly self conscious about it but...they did kind of feel like the biggest things in the world sometimes when you were pretending to be normal so...
Luckily, this time, for everyone's sake, the aids were neatly in place and the volume settings were correct, so that was all good. And now to locate the mysterious and elusive Eowyn.
