WHO: Blossom & Belle
WHEN: backdate: Christmas characters time, December 5/6/7ish
WHERE: near Belle's work
WHAT: Belle and Blossom meet a giant fussy yeti
WARNINGS: None
STATUS: Complete

Belle was on her way to work. With all the light dustings of snow on the ground, people were driving crazy. She wished more than ever that she could fly, just like in her Dreams. She wished she could have her Pixie Dust tree, and that she could sprinkle herself with the stuff and flutter around. Then she wouldn’t have to drive a car or her moped to get to work. And definitely not on icy streets.

She was walking from the parking lot toward her work--the fix-it shop where Belle spent most of her days--when something caught her attention. Something out of the corner of her eye. It was large, and white, and lumbering down the street in a choppy way… as if it was made out of clay. Claymation. Belle turned to stare and her jaw dropped.

Down the street, a few blocks away, was The Abominible Snow Monster from that crazy Rudolph movie. Belle picked up her pace, rushing to the front door of the fix-it shop, and ducked inside to avoid the beast.

Honestly, Blossom was beginning to think that nothing could surprise her. And then something would happen and surprise her, and Blossom would figure out that she wasn’t just as imaginative as Orange County seemed to be.

An abominable snowman seemed to be just that side of crazy.

The whole ‘stop and stare’ thing was an unfortunate by-product of this world of insanity though. And this was when Blossom was oh-so-very glad she’d finally got her flying powers. Because it spotted her and Blossom wasn’t really looking to find out if he was friendly or not, she didn’t want to laser-eye-blast the thing if it was just going to amble around harmlessly. Darting around the side of the building, Blossom went down an alley before flying over the top of the snowman and behind him, heading towards the car park to duck behind a car and watch him.

Belle had turned around and pressed her face against the window to get a better look at the monster. It seemed like it wasn’t doing much besides wandering around and scaring the bejesus out of people. Belle didn’t really want to be out there with it, especially since outdoors was cold and snowy, and inside was so warm and away from the monster.

Then she saw a pink blur go up and around the thing, and duck back down again. Eyes wide, Belle watched the other girl fly, feeling a pang of jealousy. Oh, how she wished she had some pixie dust.

The Snowman didn’t look like it was trying to hurt anyone, really it just looked lost. And Blossom knew that if it wasn’t dangerous then Bubbles would pout at Blossom until she broke and apologised for attacking a lost Abominable Snowman for no reason. Which meant probably helping it find it’s way back to wherever it came from -hard, since this was Orange County where snow really shouldn’t be a thing and neither should yeti’s, but there it was.

Except then it bumped into a car, and the alarm started blaring and--- The roar actually caught Blossom a little off guard, even as it smashed the car with it’s fists to try and get it to stop making noises. Okay, angry Abominable thing, not so great. She was still super hesitant to fight on her own, especially when no one was getting hurt but---

The car was thrown overhead, launched at a building with another roar and okay, now people might get hurt and Blossom had to figure out how to get the furry thing somewhere else!

Belle moved over to the other window to get a better look, and then gasped. Then screamed. A car flew across the street and landed against another car. Should she do something? Maybe she should do something. What could she do?

Belle came to the door and pushed it open, glancing up and down the street to try and figure something else she could do. She wasn’t super strong or super fast. What could she do to help??

Blossom was definitely playing things by ear, because what did you do to corral an abominable snowthing? The car throwing sealed the deal though, and Blossom had to keep herself from looking back where she heard a scream. She had this she… Was going to fly over and get it’s attention!

Which she did, with a bright pink streak, zooming to the beast’s head and darting around. “Hey, hey, you gotta chill out.” Ha, chill, snowyeti, so funny Blossom. “This isn’t the place for you, you gotta go.” At least she had it’s attention, but the swatting hands didn’t really make her feel like this was the best idea.

“Jesus!” Belle cried out at the bright pink streak zooming fast. Holy Cow! That was amazing! Why couldn’t she be as awesome as that! She couldn’t think of any fairies who left a pink streak when they flew. Everyone knew Pixie dust was yellow.

“She’s right!” Belle cried out, letting her wings out to give a little flutter. She only made it a few feet off the ground before she fell back down to earth. Though, it was graceful. What wouldn’t she give for some Pixie Dust? “You don’t belong here, man. You’re scaring all these nice people!”

Maybe the big thing was just scared, and lost, and they had to find him a place to stay until he left. Shifting away from the swatting, Blossom darted up higher just as another voice called from down on the streets. C’mon snowpoop, just leave! She really didn’t want to be blasting things that might not need blasting. It had stopped when the other girl shouted, wasn’t even waving at Blossom anymore, so hopefully…

The giant yeti gave a yell of displeasure, swatting the air one more time before sulking down the street. Blossom gave it some space, darting down to the ground where the other girl was still standing. “Hey,” she wasn’t sure if they’d met or not, it was so hard to remember mid-battle. “I’m gonna follow him, just to make sure he stays outta trouble, you okay making sure people are safe?”

Oh, thank goodness. The yeti was leaving, so that was a good thing. People up and down the block seemed to be getting back to normal, though there were a couple, like Belle, who were staring at the lady who was flying around. “Hey,” Belle said, giving her a smile. “Man, you’re amazing! I mean, the flying and whatnot? So cool!”

The Fairy nodded. “Yeah, yeah. I’ll stay here.” She grinned. “I’m Belle, by the way. It’s nice to meet someone who… y’know… flies.”

Blossom just gave the girl a bright, megawatt smile, because yeah, she knew she was something pretty darn special! And that was fun. “Aw, thanks! Dreams right! She figured that it was fine to say, since Belle had clearly been dreaming since people didn’t fly on their own. “I’m Blossom, fellow fliers are definitely fun to meet!”

So far she only actually knew of her sisters and her, but she was sure in Orange County there were more. She just hadn’t bumped into them; on the ground or in the air. “I’ll swing back after I’ve checked on him, okay? You take care. Shout really loud if something happens.”

Blossom was pretty sure she could maybe try and keep an ear out for something.
