For what felt like the first time in his life (but was actually just a very long time since the last time), Elijah was not in a suit. He’d very nearly considered a snowball fight somewhere around Christmas, but never actually got convinced into it. But he’d been practically bullied into wearing something that was apparently “more practical”. Listen to your sister, Elijah. He felt a moment of annoyance with Rebekah, but it passed after only a short time. He had never really stayed mad with her. But now that he was here surrounded by children with no concept of personal space or an understanding that one shouldn’t very nearly run into strangers whom they did not know, Elijah felt that perhaps it had been the right choice to wear something that he had neither paid for, nor desired to wear again...even if he had gotten compliments. He couldn’t help but fidget with the sweater he was wearing or basically anything else. It wasn’t that it was uncomfortable. More that it was unusual. He did not feel himself in it. Perhaps it was ridiculous to assign his personal existence with a style of dress, but he was almost certain that everyone else did it. After dodging yet another child that had come dangerously close with an ice cream, he looked at Ezio. “I don’t know how I became a child target, but I would like to rescind my apparent subscription.” Who wore a suit to a place like Disneyland? Or a better one, who wore clothes to a place like Disneyland that they did not expect to have soiled in some way? Besides maybe Elijah - he was a man with as they say ‘issues’, benedicilo, but he was a handsome man with issues and they were all a little touched in the head these days, were they not? Ezio chuckled lightly, smoothing his hands over Elia’s front, doing his part to erase any non-existent wrinkles. This Italian here had no concept of personal space, but eh, it was merely a quirk of his. “Is impossibile to not be a target of children,” he said, like it happened to be some great secret. The little ones clambered all over themselves and ripped free from their parents to see Mickey and Elsa from Frozen (why had this fad not died yet?), it was more than obvious that being clean was not much of an option here. “And you will wash off all the germs later,” he informed Elijah. “If you ask nicely, I will help you.” Actually, he did not even need much incentive for that. “Now, come - you need something not healthful,” he wrapped his arm around Elijah’s, to lead him off. “I do too. I want to try the fried cornmeal on a stick. You know they say the magic is in the details, in this place. I asked my niece and nephew what they recommend, and they gave me tips.” Certified Disney experts, those two. Had Rebekah not confirmed that Italians seemed to be handsier than the average person, Elijah probably would have been more confused by the hands smoothing his shirt down. Apparently this was normal, so Elijah decided not to concern himself over it too much. It wasn’t that he minded. He wanted to say that he wasn’t used to it, but women with enough drink in them and sometimes no drinks in them at all tended to be a little handsy. So perhaps it wasn’t all that unusual at all. Mentally, he waved it off. “I suppose,” he said after a moment, letting out a hint of a sigh. He’d just have to get over it. Anyway, it wasn’t like he’d paid for his clothes. Rebekah had. It seemed that his time spent with Ezio would be filled with sideways glances. Like it was right now. He could already hear Kol’s laughter in his head again. “It wouldn’t be the first time I showered with someone.” There was a hint of a smile as he spoke. He allowed himself to be led off to try the unhealthy food alternatives. He couldn’t exactly claim to be a health nut, but he supposed he tried to eat healthier than some of America. He avoided some places for that sake, but if the handsome Italian man wanted to eat fried cornmeal on a stick, he guessed that he could eat fried cornmeal on a stick. “I suppose they have been to Disney a few times? I...am not even certain I’ve ever been. So this would be the first that I remember.” It wasn’t a terrible first time...children and their dirty hands aside. “I should hope that you have showered with someone before - I would hate to steal your shower virginity,” Ezio quipped, but then clearly changed his mind. “Actually, no. I would enjoy it.” Ha! Now he was just getting all sorts of fantastic mental pictures in his head and coupled with the array of scents, as they approached Main Street USA, it made for many good things all around. He did not think that Elijah wanted to hold hands and be enthusiastically dragged everywhere, so Ezio compromised and held onto his forearm instead, fingertips brushing down over the belly of his wrist - see, cornmeal on a stick! The corn dog cart, also know as the Little Red Wagon, was prominent on Main Street - along with the churro stands that emitted the crisp scent of cinnamon, sugary Heaven. They also had passed by a few other options - how could anyone walk by the shops without their senses dancing as the aroma of freshly baked cookies hit the nose, not to mention cotton candy and whatever was being pumped from the bakery? Like sweet vanilla waffles. “Merda, it smells good,” he sighed. “I want everything - oh, but cornmeal first!” To the cart, where he did actually purchase one and offered Elijah the first bite of the phallic-looking snack. “I will share with you, caro.” How sweet of him. Elijah laughed at that. “I was about to say…” He had a feeling that Ezio might say otherwise the moment he’d voice the fact that he’d hate to steal his shower virginity. “You’re a little too late for bathing virginity in general, but I’m sure that’s stopped no one from enjoying it.” A beat. “Unless you know someone who is too disappointed about such a thing to ever enjoy it again.” There was another pause as he considered saying something, but decided not to mention it for the moment. The feeling of Ezio’s fingers on the skin of his arm did not escape his notice. He allowed for a brief moment where his hand rested over Ezio’s before he looked where they were going. Ah. Cornmeal on a stick. Corndogs. He had actually had one of those before. It wasn’t the worst thing he could be asked to eat in the grand scheme of things. “We’ve come all the way to Disney to have corndogs. You can also buy them at the stores.” But he digressed. He leaned in to take a bite. All right. He had to admit that it was probably better than the frozen corndogs you could get from the store. Frozen corndogs! Elia, how dare you! Ezio had to scoff, albeit playfully. “It is much better than in the store,” as if Elijah should know that - deep down, in his heart of hearts, where a little bambino who entertained dirty thoughts of rolling around in the mud and not even worrying about suits, he probably did. “Is the whole experience - though I assure, we will consume everything specific to Disneyland too. I hope you are still hungry.” Because this meat-on-a-stick would be polished off in about three seconds. “Let us go into the bakery next - they have the macaroons which are to die for,” he pantomimed a kiss to the tips of his fingers, buon appetito! Macaroons, naturally, much different than French macarons (the meringue-based confection). “These are the ones my nipote e nipote recommend. Also, did you know that you can go to the Haunted Mansion and get a death certificate? And riding the Big Thunder, while staring at the goat, makes you dizzy?” Sounded odd, but it was seemingly true. Ezio trusted his kinfolk at their word. “There is a real human skull on the pirates ride too,” he continued, as the scent from the open bakery door hit him square in the face. Aaaah. Delizioso. “But is the goat effect which sounds the strangest to me. I can think of much else that would make me dizzy.” “All right. It is better than in the store,” he allowed, rolling his eyes slightly. There was a hint of amusement to his voice as he said, “Ah, then I will be sure to pace myself. Not too much of anything.” He quietly considered how much food he was going to eat and how much he was likely going to need to work out to keep from looking as if he ate everything at Disney. “I haven’t managed to get full just yet, so I think we’ll be okay.” There was a hint of a laugh before he said, “Well, at least I haven’t started dreaming. Otherwise, we may be in a little bit more trouble.” He didn’t consider the fact that he hadn’t mentioned anything about them before. Being a dream vampire was a little unusual, he supposed, but perhaps not nearly as unusual as he believed. He remembered a little more of the Italian as they went along. “Did they?” He listened as Ezio went on about various things. “I did not know either of those things. I assume that means we’re going to ride both of those rides.” He had no idea of the truth of those facts, but he supposed he would find out at some point today. He was vaguely curious about it now. “Well, I suppose there are more surprising things than real skulls.” He didn’t seem particularly perturbed by the idea. But then he wasn’t. He took in the scents that came from opening the door. “I’m sure there are at least more interesting ways to feel dizzy, but the goat will at least be a story.” He decided to buy the macaroons since Ezio had gotten the corndog - or cornmeal on a stick as he called it. Ah, macaroons. The best thing about this Disneyland specialty was that they were topped with an actual mountain of cream - so sweet and decadent, as soon as you bit into it you either experienced a mouth smeared with snowy white, or the tip of your nose (Ezio imagined that many celebrities experienced the same ‘look’ after doing a line of the cocaina). You could not get these frozen in a store, though he assumed it would not be so difficult to mimic the recipe at home. “Dreaming?” He lifted an eyebrow. There was this phenomenon that Ezio had heard of, but he had not experienced it firsthand. Then again, he was not really sure he even understood it at all. “Everyone has dreams, yes? You just do not remember yours?” Oh, now he figured out what the cream was. It was actually melted white chocolate, and there were hints of coconut too. He tried not to be too tempted by the cinnamon rolls or the seasonal fruit tarts either, as he browsed some more. Much would be done on the exercise routine to make up for this day but worth it. Again Elijah was not able to offer up a complaint, but he did have a bit of a sweet tooth and so it was really difficult to complain about sweet things. “Yes. I'm told by my siblings that the Mikaelsons are even more interesting in the dreams. I hadn't imagined it was possible, but alas.” He frowned for a brief moment before going back to something more neutral. “But that isn't terribly important. And yes, there are regular dreams that don't come with the memory of them.” He watched Ezio as he looked around. “Anything else you'd like to try?” “There is, merendina,” Ezio smiled wryly, and he had a good smile. It was charming, joyful - it showed all that happened to be just right in his world in that moment. And he’d essentially just called Elijah a tasty little snack, perhaps similar to a Twinkie. But it was something he found amusing, just to himself, since the other man likely did not know what it meant. Anything else he’d like to try though? Si. Planning to make a little of a macaroon cream mess on purpose, he hooked his fingers on his Disney companion’s belt loops (seemed to be a favorite place for Ezio, playful almost) and kissed him, all mouth to mouth and air to air and it was a romantic idea to breathe each other’s air, swimming underwater. Maybe a bit risque for a semi-crowded Disney bakery, if you were a prude. Open mouth, no tongue, a brief kiss - he kept it mostly respectable. “Bello,” he crooned then, licking the last bit of macaroon cream from the corner of Elijah’s mouth. “You had some on you, I had to get it. But nothing else I would like to try now. At least not in here.” Elijah hadn't understood the comment about him being a tasty snack. He had only learned a few things by way of Italian. Most of those things were the easy things to figure out. The fingers in his belt loops was not surprising. The kiss probably shouldn't have been surprising, but he couldn't help but be surprised. Perhaps the surprise came mostly from the fact that he'd considered it briefly before it happened. His hands automatically moved to Ezio’s hips, only vaguely aware of the other people in the bakery. He wasn't sure he'd have really complained if it wasn't respectable, but it was probably for the best. “I can see how that would be difficult to resist,” he commented after clearing his throat. Well. “Then I suppose we should go if there's nothing else.” Ezio laughed, a good-natured sound, tugging Elijah out the door - and he glanced over his shoulder, that crooked infectious grin reaching his eyes. The flecks of gold and green, in a maze of hazel, were more prominent when he was so alight. “Have you ever been with a man before, Elia?” he asked bluntly. He sensed a certain timidness there, and perhaps it was because they were in public - but Ezio was more apt to believe that Elijah was just shy when it came to exploring urges for a partner lacking feminine curves. Then he was back to loosely linking arms, a leisurely stroll back down Main Street USA. They would be leaving the decadent scents behind, but there were others to experience - dirty salt spray on the pirates ride, damp wood elsewhere, fire effects. “And I want to hear more about your interesting family dreams,” he added. “Tell me, on the way to get our death certificates.” One of his favorite rides was the Haunted Mansion. It was so spooky. And dark, which did not seem a bad thing right now either. A smile tugged at Elijah’s lips as they walked out of the door (or as he was pulled out of it). The smile changed a little with the question, the knowledge that there was no real way to not reveal the truth. Not that he felt he needed to conceal it. “Ah...no.” He rubbed the back of his neck. “You would be the first.” He’d spent some time questioning his reasoning for everything. “My brother is delighted, you see. Not only is he apparently particularly interested in my having a love life or a sex life, I’m not sure, but he finds it most appealing because our father would...not approve.” His brow furrowed slightly. “Not that that is why I’m here, of course. I...well…” It was hard to explain himself when he wasn’t even entirely certain of himself. “It’s new. I hadn’t thought about it before...or explored the option.” But the dreams were perhaps an easier topic. Well, it was confusing in a different way. He could handle that level of confusion, however. “Ah, well, it turns out our mother is a witch. After Henrik died in the dreams, she and our father decided they didn’t want us to die, naturally. We were living amongst werewolves - so I’ve been told. She cast a spell on us that turned us into vampires. I don’t believe she meant to make us vampires, just immortal. But of course, there are consequences to these things. I don’t know nearly all the details, but Rebekah and Kol are vampires here now, so I imagine it’s only a matter of time.” The way he said it was very matter-of-fact, like someone telling you about the fact that they’d had coffee that morning, something so casual and normal that you wouldn’t have suspected that it might have been abnormal. Except it seemed fairly obvious by the subject matter that it was. “I didn’t believe them at first, but I saw the fangs and the angry vampire faces, so…” He smiled a little. “That’s why the death certificate seems rather amusing.” Once he turned, there would be no dying...unless the white oak stake existed. “Apparently Niklaus takes to daggering us all very often from what Rebekah’s told me. I can’t wait.” If Elijah stuck with Ezio, he’d have a sex life for the brother to pester about - it did not take much for this Italian stallion to put out, but admittedly, that wasn’t why he was here either. “Is alright if you have never considered the option before. I like being your option now,” he winked. “It does not have to go very fast. Here - “ He veered off to the right of Sleeping Beauty’s castle, past the bridge - there was a pond, with an abundance of beautiful flora and fauna, plus the advantage of no crowds. One of the little hidden, secluded spots in Disneyland where one could take a nap for five minutes to recharge. But Ezio wanted to continue this discussion in private for the time being. Sitting on the bench near the water, he patted the seat next to him for Elijah to join him. “You mean to say...your siblings are really vampires? Vampiri?” This was a little difficult to believe. “And you will become one too? But the vampiri, they do not really exist...” he trailed off, brow crinkled. “In Italy, it was believed they did many centuries ago. There were exorcisms, and skeletons found, bodies that had been buried with a brick between the jaws. It was part of a vampire-slaying ritual.” But again, vampires did not exist, right? “You're a good option,” he said after a moment, letting himself be pulled off to a secluded section. He was glad to hear that they didn't have to rush into anything. Mostly because he had no idea what he was doing. He sat on the bench and nodded at the question. “They are...and I will be. We're apparently the originals.” He wouldn't have believed it either if he hadn't witnessed it himself. Not so much the drinking blood part, but the rest of it. “That's certainly an interesting way to do things. It is, if I recall what they said, particularly difficult to kill us, but…” He shrugged. It was a waiting game. “They have adjusted well enough, so I should be fine.” He wanted that to be true. If it was true, then he had nothing to worry about. Cazzo, Ezio could not believe what he was hearing. Adjust to being a vampire? How does one adjust to that? He could scarcely imagine that they were even real - the way Elijah said it too, he was calm and collected. Perhaps he was a bit more touched in the head than Ezio first thought? No. That was not it. He really did believe what he was saying. Of course, that might be the problem. “Che cavolo,” he exhaled - it literally translated to ‘what cabbage’ but it was more the way to say ‘what the hell’ in Italian. The reference to cabbage, he had always found to be amusing. “I do not think you would be fine. It would be more worrisome if you were. I would not expect you to be fine.” He was not entirely certain what to do or where this would go - pursuing something with a person who not only had ‘dreams’ but had vampires for siblings and believed he could become one? Ezio had to admit, that was a lot. It was just difficult to put trust in something - like the strange and exciting things that happened here - without seeing it firsthand. Ah, well. “Sei pazzo,” he chuckled, nudging Elijah with his shoulder, then he reached over and took his hand, giving it a squeeze. “You are crazy. But I have decided I like you anyway,” which was him teasing, naturally. Elijah wasn't really one for dramatics or letting his worry show and he tried to believe what he said for his own sake. He worried more about his siblings than himself. It had always been that way. He guessed it made him one of those people that needed help paying attention to himself, but he was fine. “I would have to be fine. The others need me to be fine. One of us needs to have it together.” His brow furrowed slightly. “So I will be...even if I'm not really.” Yes. That was how it needed to be. It didn't feel fair to fall apart when Kol was already falling apart and their family was a mess. But he was always meant to be the calm, level-headed one of the family and so he was. He smiled a little, but it was a small thing. “It would be a little disappointing if you'd said otherwise considering that I am fairly certain I have decided I like you as well.” A pause. “I would be okay with more kissing in the future. Just in case you were wondering.” “You would not have to be fine around me,” Ezio murmured, his thumb pressing at the spot in Elijah’s brow where it was all tightened, marked with anxiety, and sweeping there as if meaning to sweep the stress away. The man must have grooves that were already in deep because of the stress - since he seemed to take much of it on his shoulders, for the sake of his own siblings. The mention of kissing made him laugh a little - so bold, like a fine red wine! Keep that up and he would have Ezio swooning. Though he was about there anyway. There was something about Elijah that made him want to peel back the layers and find the wilder ones. “I was wondering,” he hummed. “The future is now, what do you think about that?” Hint. Go for it, Elia. It was strange to have someone suggest that he didn’t need to keep it together. Kol had needed him recently because of Mary Alice and Mareena. He tried to imagine a scenario where he’d felt that he didn’t need to keep himself together. He didn’t find one. It was probably his fault. “Perhaps not.” He gave him a little bigger smile. “Thank you.” Elijah had his moments. This was one of them. The future is now. His smile grew a little more. Well, he couldn’t argue with that logic. He didn’t want to argue with it either. So he scooted a little closer, leaning in to kiss Ezio, his hand coming to rest against Ezio’s jaw and sliding back just enough to let his fingers tangle in the Italian’s hair. He kept the kiss similar to the last one only without the lick to the corner of Ezio’s mouth. When he pulled back, he only moved a short distance away. The distance, miniscule as it happened to be, was closed. Because Ezio kissed him again too, palm against Elijah’s cheek; that climb of his fingers from chin to cheek was a caress, it was feather-light. Maybe he just liked Elijah’s face. It deserved appreciation. Tilting his head, he scraped their mouths together once more, warm and sweet with Matterhorn macaroon chocolate - it led to an investigatory slide of his tongue, and overall it felt like an embrace. Fireworks in his ears and in his veins. “Sono dipendente dei tuoi baci,” he spoke the words against Elijah’s mouth. His fingers curled around the man’s collar, scrunched in his sweater - it took Ezio a moment to breathe again. “I would not get tired of that.” Whatever he'd gone in expecting to happen today, this was not it. His skin tingled where Ezio's fingers touched his face and he was having more difficulty keeping his breathing under control. Really, it was not under control at all, but he was willing to pretend he was succeeding. He also couldn't recall the Italian being as distracting to him before. Then again, it had never been spoken while their lips were touching. There was a breathy laugh when Ezio spoke English again and he had to wonder if that was the translation or just an additional thought. “As much as it surprises me to say it,” he started, eyes opening slightly. “I don't think that I would either.” He had a feeling he'd be all too happy to repeat it multiple times, but he had a feeling Disney was probably not the place for it. “Did you still want your death certificate?” It was not the translation - sometimes Ezio translated his Italian ramblings, and sometimes he did not. But in this case? Elia would just have to wonder. That little bit of mystery helped add to the seduction, to the sexiness. He would gladly croon sweet words in another language, if it got the man going - Ezio spoke Turkish and Greek too, ooh la la. And sometimes, being lip-to-lip and tongue-to-tongue was all you needed, in order to say what you needed to say. The universal language of lust. “I still want that. We will get you one too, even if it is...ironic,” he winced jokingly. Impressively, he managed to tear himself away from convincing Elijah to find a really dark corner by standing up and offering his hand. “Then...the goat effect.” Although all that kissing had made him plenty dizzy already. Just like the indulgence of sweets? Worth it, and then some. |
