She knew they were watching. Who: River and Simon Tam What: Bad dreams and comfort! When: This morning. Where: The Tam Residence Ratings/Warnings: PG-13 to start, Warnings for insanity and violence. Status: Complete.
The dream was a series of interviews that had grown increasingly confusing and a little crazy as time had passed. River could feel herself slipping away in those dreams, becoming something other than the woman she was. Parts of herself fell by the wayside while parts of other people took up residence. Towards the end, she felt like there wasn't enough room in her head to hold them all.
And there had been pain, too, and an inability to understand things. It was supposed to be a school. It wasn't ever actually a school. In the end, what they'd done to her had driven her completely mad. She'd killed a man. She knew they were watching. They were always watching. Maybe they'd see her now. She could see them, maybe they would see her.
She awoke crying, and sat up in bed, her eyes as big as saucers. A part of her felt like it had still slipped away from her. She crawled out of bed, and headed to Simon's room, almost on instinct alone.
"Simon!?" She didn't bother knocking, and let herself in. Simon was used to such behaviour by now.
