Who: Lara and Bo
What: Bo dreams of getting her heart broken. Fluff ensues.
When: Recently
Where: Croft Manor
Warnings: Pretty low
The dream had been pretty routine. Bo, Kenzi and Dyson had gone undercover at a camp for troubled youths after a fae had started murdering humans there. They had rooted out the fae responsible and taken care of it. Save for the fact they’d missed that it had had a human mate who had tried to take vengeance on Lauren. Dyson and Bo had arrived in time to save Lauren from the worst of it.
However, mixed in with the routine had been emotions. During a time when Dyson and Bo were alone and waiting for the fae to show itself, she’d brought up what had happened during her Dawning. She’d made it clear that she was still in love with Lauren, then she’d made a statement about how Dyson was willing to give up his life for her. He corrected her, saying he hadn’t risked his life, he’d volunteered to be her Hand trusting that she’d save his life. Then she’d asked the golden question, if it was hard to date her. Dyson smiled and said that it was harder losing her.
The second bout of emotions came after the fae and its human mate were taken care of. Bo had been applying first aid to Lauren’s injuries when Lauren said that they needed a break. She said that she felt like she was losing herself after everything that had happened the past couple years and that she was tired. Then the golden statement came that she said she’d always be asking more from Bo than Bo could give to her. Bo’s heart effectively broke, inwardly knowing it was more than a simple “break” and that Lauren had actually broken up with her. However, she’d understood and left to give Lauren space.
Upon waking, Bo was hit with those emotions of a broken heart. She pressed her lips together tightly and turned her head to see Lara was in bed beside her. Tears welled up in her eyes and she just needed a hug despite thinking it was stupid to cry over a dream girlfriend when she had a fiance right here with her. Trying to keep her emotions silent, Bo shifted and snuggled up to Lara, wrapping her arms around her and pressing her forehead against Lara’s shoulder. While managing to remain silent, tears started falling and her arms tightened slightly around Lara.
Was she guilty of the same thing here in this life that she was in the dreams? That she’d been too self-centered of late and needed to stop and make Lara the focus? Was Lara secretly unhappy the same way Lauren was? Did Lara ever think that she was asking more of Bo than Bo could give to her? The words were echoing in her head despite the fact she told herself that she and Lara had already had that conversation. But right now, the emotional rush of a broken heart was overriding everything else.
Lara didn’t usually sleep well this time of year, but this was the first time she had with someone in her bed and in general it made sure she could actually sleep. Normal dreams, a little strange but nothing real. But she was still a light sleeper and Bo’s movements drew her out of her sleep and into warm, slightly shaking arms. Something wet and warm hit the skin of her back and she realized Bo was crying.
Frowning, she didn’t move just yet. Bo hadn’t woken up screaming. She probably wasn’t injured then, which was a relief. Sometimes, loving Bo could be a handful, but Lara would never change anything about that and was never exasperated with Bo, but with the way her dream life continued to fuck her over. She finally rolled over and wrapped her arms around Bo. “What’s wrong?”
Bo hadn’t intended for Lara to wake up, but by this point she’d realized her fiance was a light sleeper so she wasn’t completely surprised when Lara rolled over and wrapped her arms around her. Bo snuggled a bit closer, wanting the warmth and comfort and reassurance that Lara wasn’t going to break up with her.
“I had another dream,” she said with a sniff. “Lauren broke up with me.” It hurt to say, and she still felt silly crying over it when she was perfectly happy here with Lara. But she couldn’t control the dreams or what emotions crossed over into her waking life from them no more than she could control whether she woke up with injuries or not.
“Why would anyone ever do that?” Lara asked. But then Bo had given her a very low impression of Lauren. The sleeping girlfriend thing had soured her opinion and this? Wasn’t actually a surprise, even if it made her a little angry. Lara stroked Bo’s hair and hugged her a little tighter. “You deserve so much better.”
“She said she wasn’t happy and that she felt like she’d lost herself with everything she’d been through with the fae and Nadia. And she said that she’d always be asking more from me than I could give to her.” She closed her eyes and tightened her arms around Lara a little more. “I have better here.” And she did, and she fully acknowledged that while Lara had several things in common with Lauren, Lara was a million times better.
That actually made some amount of sense. Lara wasn't sure how to respond to that. If you weren't happy and if you were giving more of yourself than you were getting, it wasn't fair to either party to keep going. So Lara understood that. But she also understood that you had to give to recieve, and Lauren didn't seem like she was giving all that much back to Bo. "She's selfish."
“No, she’s not. I’m the selfish one. It had been all about me lately.” There had been good reason why it had been all about Bo lately in the dreams with her Dawning that came a couple hundred years too early. She’d had to put a lot of time into training as best as she could in the small amount of time she had to prepare for it. But even so, her girlfriend had been left behind in it all and Bo felt terrible about it. “She wanted space, so I gave it to her because I want her to be happy and I’d do whatever she needed me to.”
“You can’t control who you are, Bo.” Lara propped herself up on her elbow and gazed down at her. “You’re like Beowulf. The heroes of ancient epics. Of course it’s all about you. Maybe it’s not what you want, but you’re not selfish for something you have no control over. I can’t control that in my dreams it’s all about me, either.”
“Sometimes I wish someone else would be the hero.” And clearly she couldn’t get the girl either like heroes were supposed to. Bo looked at Lara for some moments. “Is it hard dating me?” She’d asked the question of Dyson and she wanted to know Lara’s take on the matter.
Lara didn’t consider herself a hero, and no one would ever convince her otherwise. A survivor yes. But not a hero. She stroked Bo’s hair and cupped her cheek. “Yes, and no. The dating you part isn’t hard. Being with you. Going out with you. The funny part is that used to be the harder part because it was so new to me, but you’re second nature now. You’re like coming home.”
She had to be truthful though. Especially now. “Worrying about what your dreams might throw at us next is hard. You getting hurt, physically and emotionally. But that’s a part of you too and I’m not going anywhere.”
That was a more in depth answer than she’d expected, and it was different from the inferred answer Dyson had given her. The inferred answer having been yes it was difficult dating her. Bo knew it was difficult, she was high maintenance, mostly because of the succubus state of being.
She pressed her lips together as emotion swelled within her again. Only this time it was for something good. “Good because I don’t want you to go anywhere, but I want you to be happy. I will do whatever I need to to help make you happy. Whatever it is, it doesn’t matter, I’ll do it because I love you. And I’m sorry if I’ve been self-centered and have ignored your needs at any point.”
“I can’t recall any time where you have ignored my needs,” Lara pointed out. She held Bo tighter, half afraid she would leave. And if Lara was honest, that still remained her number one fear in this relationship. Bo getting scared and leaving.
“I hope not because I don’t want to start ignoring them.” Bo snuggled closer to Lara, gently rubbing her back. She was afraid of losing Lara, but she wasn’t going to get scared and leave. Sure she might get some wedding nerves now and then, or the hand-fasting nerves because that was fast approaching, but she wasn’t going to hightail it out of there.
“In that same dream, Dyson and I got a chance to talk about what happened during my Dawning. So at least he and I cleared that up.”
“That’s good.” She didn’t like Dyson much either. But then she figured Bo might not get along with some of her dream friends. Reyes for sure, anyway. Amanda. Jonah got along with everyone.
Right now, Dyson got all the points in Bo’s book. He was being rather noble of late, and he was respectful of her and Lauren. Though her and Lauren weren’t together anymore so she had no idea where things were going to go now. “I’m sorry for crying over something from the dreams.” Not that she needed to apologize because she couldn’t exactly help it, but she felt like she owed it to Lara for having to hear about it.
“Bo, don’t ever be sorry. These things happened. They might be another life, but they still happened as though we were there.” Lara pushed Bo onto her back and straddled her, offering herself up like safety blanket. “You don’t need to apologize for having feelings.”
Bo more than welcomed the safety blanket that was Lara, pulling her close and holding her tightly. “Still, it must be weird for you to hear about the complicated and messy love life that I dream of.” Not to mention infuriating and frustrating at times considering the shit that continued to happen in the dreams. “At this rate, my dream self should just seriously go for Tamsin.” Even though Tamsin was sort of gunning her for a murder or two, Bo had come to see another side of her lately.
"At least you have a love life," Lara pointed out. "My dreamself is so oblivious to her own feelings it's kind of sad."
Lara nuzzled her. "Tell me more about Tamsin."
“Clearly you need someone to shove them in her face where she can’t ignore them.” She rubbed her back and clearly knew Sam should do something about that in the dreams. Bo had pretty much done it to Lara here, even though she’d been virtually unaware of it.
“Tamsin is Dark Fae, and she’s Dyson new partner in the police force now that Hale’s the acting Ash. It’s part of a program he’s trying out to make the Light and Dark Fae cooperate more. Tamsin’s a Valkyrie, a really seriously old and seriously powerful one at that. She’s also kind of a bitch, or at least she was. She’s lightened up lately, and I totally misjudged her at first. She’s one of the good ones, though I don’t think she believes that about herself.”
“She sounds like she might be a good person. The Valkryie thing is interesting too.” But in Lara’s experience, people like that tended to be bitches. It came with the territory. Power and all of that. “You sound like you’ve got a crush.”
“She has a softer side, and somewhere in there she has a sense of justice. She helped me once when she didn’t have to. I think she’s just been alone for far too long.” Tamsin was definitely someone worth the time. “It’s possible I do, but with everything else that’s been going on and being with Lauren, I haven’t really noticed. Though I can say I have never tasted chi like Tamsin’s. She is more alive than anyone I have ever met.”
Now Tamsin was someone Lara would be jealous of. She frowned a little, then shook her head and kissed Bo’s head. “She sounds a little like me.”
It was probably a good thing Tamsin wasn’t here in Orange County. She had to smile a bit. “There are similarities, yeah. But you’re way better.” She kissed Lara’s shoulder. “Plus she hasn’t exactly dropped the whole pinning murder on me. A fae I slept with ended up dead the morning after even though she left my place very much alive. The evidence points to a succubus kill and the only other succubus that was even there was Aife, but she’s been missing since I last fought her.”
"I doubt that was you." It was probably Alfie, or someone Bo didn't know. Lara stroked her fingers down Bo's back and leaned in and nuzzled her shoulder. "I'm glad I'm better, though."
“I’m pretty sure I didn’t kill her. Though it was during the time while I was devolving and I had periods of attacking people around me. I even tried attacking Lauren once while I was in one of those rages.” She caressed Lara’s back, leaning her head against Lara’s. “Definitely way better. You’re strong, beautiful, adventurous, compassionate and geeky. It doesn’t get a better combination than that.”
“Remind me to pick up horse tranquilisers,” Lara joked. She stared down at Bo, trying to imply with just her gaze how much she really meant to her. “So you’ve got a thing for adventurous geeks?” The rest of it… well it made her turn red. She never really considered herself beautiful, and sometimes she didn’t feel that compassionate.
Bo loved the way Lara looked at her like that. It made her feel special and wanted. She knew it could be difficult being with a succubus, sometimes Bo herself got fed up with her fae state of being, but she was beyond lucky that Lara had accepted her and everything that came with her. “I do. I’ve always wanted to travel the world, and now I have someone to travel it with.” She smiled and gently caressed Lara’s cheek as she gazed up at her.
“We’ll do some traveling this year, I promise.” Lara leaned into the hand on her cheek, closing her eyes. This time she would bring Bo with her, and they could adventure together. It would be dangerous. But she figured Bo could handle it. She wondered if their dreams would ever converge. Not in reality, but in how it affected their lives. Dream artifacts.
“I’m looking forward to it,” she said with a smile. Bo didn’t mind the danger, she could handle it when it came. She was strong and she wasn’t afraid. And with Lara by her side, she’d fear it even less. “Though I will say I’d need to learn how to properly climb mountains before we go scaling any mountains.”
“Next week,” Lara suggested. “We can go to one of those indoor centers. Start your training right. Of course we can do some private training too.” The manor here in the OC wasn’t big enough for their own climbing set, but Lara could probably create one.
“That would be awesome. Both to the indoor center and to the private training. Gotta keep in shape for it and all. And I need to build up stamina to keep up with you,” she teased lightly. Bo could definitely keep up with Lara when she wasn’t starving for chi. But it didn’t hurt to train and learn things properly so she could better keep up.
"You'd think you had the stamina," Lara teased back. She kissed her lightly, wanting to make Bo forget her dreams. And Lauren. And Dyson. And Tamsin.
That actually surprised Lara a little bit, she wasn't really the jealous type. But the thought of them was making her jealous.
“In some respects, but I don’t want to fall behind while climbing.” Besides, Lara was like a spider or something, able to climb most anything without safety gear. She’d seen it in the game, after all. She returned the kiss, caressing Lara’s cheek and then sliding it into her hair.
“Don’t want you to fall at all,” Lara responded. She was still trying to deal with this jealous epiphany. She trusted Bo, lord knew she did, but just...these people in Bo’s dreams, she saw how they affected her. Lara wondered if Bo ever felt jealous of Sam.
“I definitely don’t want to fall either.” Course Bo could easily heal herself, even revive herself if necessary. But she didn’t want to put Lara through that kind of panic. Best to simply do it right from the get-go. “Can I ask you something?”
"You can ask me anything," Lara replied. She sat up, looking down at Bo and trying not to worry about what she might have to ask her.
Looking up at Lara, she studied her for a moment, though she was actually studying that aura of hers. “Do you ever get jealous of Dyson, Lauren or anyone else in my dreams?” She knew it had to be awkward, which is partly why she didn’t bring them up save for when her dreams gave her shit like this and she couldn’t ignore it.
Lara forgot about the aura, even though they'd talked about it before. It came up so infrequently that she didn't think about it. So she was a little surprised at how easily Bo saw right through her. "...Sometimes. I know it's irrational."
It was getting easy for Bo to read Lara’s aura and the little shifts within it. She sat up so she could better look at Lara as she slid her arms around her waist. “I don’t think it’s irrational. I mean, we’re together in this life, yet I dream of being with other people. You know, sometimes I almost wish they were here in Orange County so I could watch you take them to task for all the shit they’ve done.” Kenzi would also probably help her, at least where Lauren was concerned.
"I'm sure you'd like that." Lara laughed. "I...yes, I guess it makes a little sense. They're such a huge part of your life. Do you feel at all jealous of Sam?"
She wondered how clear her feelings even were in those infernal games.
“I most definitely would,” she responded with a grin. Then at the question about Sam, Bo didn’t have to think long. “A little, yeah. You basically turned that island inside out and went to hell and back to save her. Not many people would do that.” Bo knew she would. She would go to any length to save the people she loved, and it was obvious that Lara would do the same. At least to a point because sometimes there was no saving someone regardless of what was tried.
“I’m sure there are many things you’d like me to do with them,” Lara teased. She sobered up a little. “ I wonder what it would have been like if… i’d told her how I felt.” She did regret not knowing what it was like to kiss Sam. “But then I wouldn't be with you. And I'd never want that."
“Maybe you’d be happy with her, maybe we still would have ended up together, who even knows.” Bo smiled as she tightened her arms around Lara. “Even so, I’m totally not gonna complain because I love you and I love being with you.” A bit of a smirk crossed her face. “And sometimes I think you enjoy showing off your intelligence and level of geek by teaching me about history.”
“I enjoy teaching you about history. I like getting a chance to geek out. I don’t always get one.” Who knows. Lara nodded, agreeing with that. “So you’re not even a little jealous?” She poked Bo in the chest. “Of me and my Sam? “
“I love it when you geek out.” Bo said with a smile. Though at the question, it was maybe a little complicated. She’d probably been jealous early on, but now? Now she wasn’t. Especially after planning things with Sam for Lara’s birthday. “I was a little, yeah. But not any longer.” She just wasn’t going to reveal the why because she wasn’t going to give up that she’d been talking to Sam without Lara’s knowledge.
“Asking you to marry me is probably a good sign.” At least for Lara. As much as she was willing to let Bo not-die if she had to, she also wasn’t the kind of person that could handle polyamory. It was a pretty safe bet she was a one person and one person only kind of woman.
“Yeah it was.” Bo said with a smile, caressing Lara’s cheek. “I love you, and I’m so grateful and honored to be part of your life.” And she was. Bo hadn’t thought she’d ever have this, or that she’d mean this much to anyone. Bo definitely didn’t take it for granted.
“I love you too, Bo.” Lara hoped that she’d never take Bo for granted either. Bo had come into her life and changed it up in ways she never could have predicted. And she wouldn’t change that for the world.
Bo smiled, then she leaned in and kissed Lara, hand still on her cheek. “You really are amazing, and I’m so lucky to have you in my life.” She always considered herself lucky to have captured Lara’s heart like this.
“I’m the lucky one.” Lara rolled off of Bo, wanting to lay out next to her and hold her that way. “I’d be alone if it weren’t for you. I’d probably be content, but...something would be missing.”
Bo snuggled up to Lara, wrapping her arms around her. “We’re both lucky, how about that?” She said with a smile. “If I hadn’t met you, I’d probably still be the stereotypical love ‘em and leave ‘em type that I used to be.” Bo had stopped running and definitely didn’t regret it.
“You’d certainly have your selection of conquests.” Lara laid her chin on Bo’s head. “Do you miss that? The variety, I guess.”
She placed a kiss to Lara’s chest. “No, I don’t. They never meant anything more than my not being alone for a little while. I couldn’t go back to meaningless sex, not since the first time I slept with you.” And that more or less made it clear that it had never been just sex between her and Lara. At least from Bo’s point of view.
“The first time..?” That was...it kind of blew Lara away and made her eyes water. “To tell you the truth, I knew I was doomed in the land rover in the snow.”
“Yeah,” Bo responded, affirming the answer to her question. “It’s hard to say exactly when I knew I was doomed, but I knew I was attracted to you from the first time we met. And not just on a physical level either.” Bo had felt something between them when they’d met for drinks at the bar, then their first date at the club that ended in the Land Rover had only confirmed it.
“Maybe there’s something to that soul mate idea. Not that we’re half of who we are when apart, but that some people are just draw to others. Complementary and contrasting. People that work better together than they might with other people.”
“Maybe there is. It felt like a magnet pulling me to you, and I didn’t know what was happening at first. I’d felt attracted to other people before, but the attraction to you was completely different. I didn’t want you just for sex or just because I find you attractive. I wanted more from you. Like your intelligence and sense of humor.”
"Oh, so you did want me for sex." Lara smiled against Bo's head, figuring she could put her on the spot for once. "So did you get yourself off thinking about me back then?"
“Yes...I definitely wanted you for sex.” Bo affirmed. She’d definitely wanted to sleep with Lara. She just hadn’t anticipated the fact that Lara would be the proverbial one and that it would become far more than just sex. At the question, Bo side eyed a bit, glad that Lara couldn’t see her face at this angle. “Yeah, I did,” she admitted.
As embarrassing as it was to think about or talk about, Lara had to admit she was flattered. Of course a lot of people wanted her for sex, but it was different with Bo. Maybe because she was a woman, maybe because she could have anyone she wanted. And she'd picked Lara. "Some day I want a reenactment."
Bo could have had anyone she wanted, but Lara was the one she wanted. And she didn’t want anyone else. “A reenactment of our first date? Or first meeting?” She definitely liked that idea. It would be very romantic.
“Both but I meant.” And at this, Lara leaned in to whisper it. “You getting yourself off after we first met.”
A grin crossed her face at Lara’s whisper. She squeezed her in her arms. “It would be my pleasure to do so for you.” That was definitely a pun.
“Oh god.”
Sure, they were alone, in bed and curled up together, but that didn’t stop Lara from burying her face into Bo’s bodacious breasts and blushing at the very thought of Bo doing that for her.
Bo couldn’t help her grin widening and she stroked Lara’s hair. She always thought it was adorable when Lara blushed. “Perhaps I shall do that sometime when you least expect it.” Though she wondered if Lara would actually be able to keep her hands to herself and simply watch Bo do that.
“What, I walk into my study one day and you’re on my desk?” Now that she said it she suddenly really liked the idea.
“Maybe. I think your desk is used to my naked ass sitting on it by this point.” She had to chuckle a bit. But Bo would totally drape herself over Lara’s desk like that.
“I think there’s an imprint of it.” There wasn’t. Lara was a little anal about wiping that desk down. But it was still a point of pride. Another thing she never would have thought about a year ago.
“What can I say? I like your desk.” Bo smirked. And suddenly she got an idea. It would take some finesse to accomplish without Lara knowing, but perhaps it could be done.
“I love you. And your obsession with my desk.” Lara laughed, tilting her head up and giving Bo a sudden, heartfelt kiss. “Maybe we should get you your own.”
“I love you, too.” She laughed as well, returning the heartfelt kiss with feeling. “Mm I’m not opposed. It’s something we could break it in.” Bo didn’t know what she’d actually use it for. Though it could be a place to do some coursework for those classes Asami’s business offered. And she was going to take the ones on business. For now that was probably the easier way than attempting to apply to college and go through that whole process.
“Mm. Tomorrow we’ll go desk shopping.” Lara liked the idea. She wanted Bo to have her own spaces and her own things. She wanted this house to be theirs together, and not just mostly Lara’s. It was actually something she was a little afraid of. Bo feeling like she didn’t belong.
“Sounds good to me.” Bo said with a smile. She knew she needed to gain a sense of decorating a place to her taste beyond the bare essentials, add her own touch to the house. But she was honestly fine with the house as it was. She had grown out of collecting posters of movies or musical artists she liked. She didn’t have action figures or anything like that. She didn’t even have stuffed animals.
“We need to set up a room for you. That’s not just this room or the gym,” Lara continued. She was starting to sound a little passionate about the idea. Bo may not be a study person but she needed her own space. For that matter, Lara needed to know she had her own space.
“I’m sure we can find things to put in it.” Bo literally had zero idea of what she wanted in a space. She didn’t exactly collect books to read, but she supposed she could put a CD player or something in her room, and a place to put the CDs she did own. A desk she could keep her laptop on. Maybe some sort of safe for the more sensitive items she got from her dreams that shouldn’t fall into other people’s hands?
“We’ll figure something out.” Something that would make the room distinctly Bo. Lara also wanted to discuss roommates again. She liked having the place to her and Bo but it was now very…she’d liked having people. “We should think about roommates again, maybe. Even converting the den into a place for you there are still three empty bedrooms.”
“Do you have anyone in mind?” Bo asked. She missed having Kenzi under the same roof, but she knew her bestie was content with where she was, so she wasn’t going to ask again. She didn’t really know of anyone else specifically looking for roommates either, but maybe Lara did.
“Not off hand. We could always roll the dice on the valar net. See if there’s someone that needs a place.” Lara was thinking someone closer to her age, or in need of a home. Lara might have a bit of a soft spot, or she remembered how hard it had been to live in a flat.
“We could, yeah. For the most part people seem nice.” At least Bo hadn’t noticed many people who seemed bent on world destruction or anything like that. Not that people would publicize such things, really, but nevertheless. “They’d have an added perk of not having to get a gym membership since we have one here?” Bo added with an amused tone.
They were both people that would have to deal with the world domination types. And Lara was probably the more hardcore there. Really, if Lara ever became a superhero she’d be less Batman and more Punisher. “That is a very good point!”
This was a better subject that Bo’s dreams, Lara thought. Though now she didn’t think she’d be able to sleep again. “Speaking of, I don’t think I’ll be able to get back to sleep now.”
While Bo was against world domination types, she did try for the diplomatic way out first, an attempt to see if they could be redeemed or swayed from their plan. It was the bleeding heart in her, she always believed that best of people until she proven otherwise.
“That makes two of us,” she responded as she stretched a bit. “Shall we do breakfast or just lay here a while longer?” Bo was rather content to just stay snuggled with Lara.
“Let’s do both.” Lara sat up and reached for her phone. “But I’ll have to get out of bed long enough to answer the door and bring up some trays when the take-out arrives.”
“Mm I love that. Best of both worlds.” Bo said with a grin. “Do you have work to do today?” She was curious as to just how long they could carry out the being lazy in bed part of the day.
“Not until much later,” Lara assured her. She happily snuggled in and was near close to dozing off again when her phone alert went off. Pulling away and grabbing a robe, she rushed downstairs to pay the delivery man, inadvertantly giving her one hell of a bonus tip when her robe pulled open, and then found some trays to bring them up to Bo.
That was the right answer. Bo had a late shift herself, so she was more than happy to be lazy with Lara for a while. Perhaps she’d catch a nap later before heading to work. Bo whined softly when Lara had to get up to get the food, having fallen into a state between awake and asleep. However, while Lara was getting the food and such, Bo rearranged the pillows so they could brace their backs against them while they ate.
“All that snuggling really gave me an appetite,” Bo quipped when Lara came back in with the food.
If Lara was less responsible she’d talk Bo into staying home, but she wouldn’t. Having Bo go into work would make sure Lara actually did some work too. “We’ll just have to have our fill then.” She put the trays down, then shrugged off the robe and got into bed with her fiance.
Bo was being careful with calling in “sick” or taking time off work. After all, she had to get Valentine’s Day off, then there was however long they’d be on their honeymoon for, and obviously she wasn’t going to be working on their wedding day. “I think we can manage that,” she said with a grin as she settled in with Lara and their food.
