Scott jogged along, his puppy jogging with him, running circles around him, really. He had just gotten the puppy a day ago, but he had already learned that this dog had as much energy as he did, and considering he was a werewolf, that was pretty startling! This puppy, unlike most, was not afraid of him, somehow trusting him and seeming to instinctively know he would protect it. And as such, it bounded around him, and he could even understand it in a way he never would have believed possible before the dreams.
But he was jogging through town now, not on a path anymore, teaching the puppy how to behave around people. Which, really, the puppy seemed to have down, except mind you for the whole part not greeting someone by trying to lick their face off. He was still learning that one. He did, at least, not jump on people. That would have been way too embarrassing.
Scott laughed as his dog almost led the way, bouncing forward with endless energy. He might need to get into better shape to deal with his new pet! Reaching his resting point, he came to a slow halt, and tied the leash to a bench post while he stretched, then sat down, letting himself rest while petting the puppy’s head and flank.

Jill was currently in class so that gave Rose quite a bit of time to get a run in since they were trying to work on this give and take of the bodyguard experience. She was easily accepted back to her old gym when she wanted to go back, but she also felt like running a lot more often just to get her mind clear and it was easy enough to do during this time frame. After putting her earbuds in she pressed the button on her phone to get the music going and off she went. She tried to stay around campus because there were some decent paths, but eventually her feet lead her off into town.
Eventually she came to her cool down time and she was starting to walk and make her way down another street. Up ahead was a man stretching and a puppy struggling against its leash to be free in the world. The man sat as she approached and she took her earbuds out before approaching the dog, “Can I pet your dog?” The dog seemed very young and hopefully friendly and Rose couldn’t pass this up.
***
Scott blinked and looked over at her, then nodded, breaking into a smile. “Sure! He’s friendly, just watch out for hs tongue. He’s very friendly.” Scott waved at her and at the dog. The dog looked him askance before bouncing over to the woman and bouncing a little at her feet, waiting to have her in range of licking. He enjoyed sniffing and licking the humans. They were odd, but they had interesting scents.
Scott just shook his head, and shifted, stretching his back a little more. “I’m Scott.”

The positive answer made a smile appear on Rose’s face as she leaned down to pet the bouncing dog. He was incredibly soft and quite adorable, which made her want a pet even more, but she wasn’t quite sure about that part just yet. It was definitely a stress relief to pet a dog and she crouched down to properly pet behind his ears once the dog was done sniffing around and licking her hands.
When his hand was offered out Rose reached up to shake it with a hand that hadn’t been completely covered in dog saliva, “I’m Rose, nice to meet you.”
***
Scott shook her hand and smiled. “Nice to meet you too.” he gestured at his dog. “Dog owner, or just a dog lover?” He was curious and smiling. Anyone who liked his dog and treated him well was someone Scott was glad to know.
***
“Definitely just a dog lover. My life’s been a bit too busy to let me have a dog, but maybe in the future,” Rose commented with a smile as she moved her face to avoid getting licked on the lips with a laugh. It was something to look into if she was able to stick around for a while. Hopefully this assignment wouldn’t end anytime soon, but you never knew, “How long have you had him?”
***
“Not long. A day. He is enthusiastic and bouncy, and friendly, and he and I get along well.” He grinned at her. Scott loved his dog already.
“He fits in my lifestyle, and we get along well.”
***
“A day? That’s it?” Wow, apparently Rose had come at the right time so early in his puppy development. Although she was totally allowing the puppy to jump all over her, so the training wasn’t that great, but she didn’t care, “And that’s great. I hope things go well for the two of you. You seem to be quite the pair already.”
***
“Yes, ma’am.” He chuckled as he watched the dog. “He should get better as he trains more.” He snapped fingers and the dog tumbled to him and licked along his hands, wriggling under the petting he gave.
“I have him training at the vet center I work at.”
***
“Oh definitely, training is quite important. And you work at a vet clinic? That seems quite appropriate,” Rose admitted with a laugh. He had a good personality from what she could see to do well there and he obviously loved animals, “I hope you two have a lot of fun together. Maybe I’ll run into you both again when I’m out and about.” She was curious to see how their dynamic went as time went on.
***
Scott smiled to her, listening.
“Yeah. It’s nice to work there with the animals. And it helps when my Dreams of late have been filled with animals of different kinds.” He nodded.
“Thanks! That would be nice. I think he liked you.”
He rose again, and the dog stayed at his heels, despite canting his ears toward Rose almost like he wanted to bounce to her for more pets and licks.
***
“Ahhh, well then you’re meant to have a dog,” Rose pointed out with a laugh. It sounded like he was handling his dreams pretty well, but that reminded her that she better get back to campus, “Well, I’ve gotta get going. Gotta finish up this run or else I’ll be thrown off all day. You two have a lot of fun on your walk.”
***
“You think so? I hope so.” He smiled, nodding, and raised a hand to wave.
“Have a good day, and see you around.” He smiled as he turned to his dog, and started off again. There were miles to run, and places to be.
