Who: Alucard, Integra, Irisa and NPC dog Dragon When: December Where: Alucard and Integra’s home What: Christmas Rating/Warnings: Low/None Status: Complete
Once Alucard had discovered that Irisa would be alone on Christmas he had immediately assumed she would come to stay with them, and after a text conversation that had been exactly what happened. They’d sorted out the guest bedroom and arranged for food and provisions for her too since he and Integra needed less sustenance now.
Currently he was in his hellhound form playing with the crazy boxer dog Irisa was looking after for her best friend. He had to admit he’d taken to the animal when he’d been unafraid of Alucard, very unusual for most animals.
Integra was watching this with utter fascination. She was perched on the couch, chin in her hands, staring. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen this.” she said lazily as she looked over to Irisa. The house was already in the beginning stages of decoration for Christmas, so the lights twinkled and reflected in her eyes as she laughed after a moment. “My goodness, this is hilarious.”
Irisa had been very happy when Alucard and Integra had invited her over. Granted, she wasn’t entirely sure what to expect but this wasn’t it. Sitting next to Integra, slack-jawed as she watched possibly the most serious and deadly predator she’d ever known descend into puppy play time with her best friend’s dog. “I think I’m in the Twilight Zone. Or high. I’m not sure which option is better,” she said, transfixed by the sight before them.
Alucard looked over at them both before continuing to play with the dog, “I can still hear you” he told them, projecting his words into their minds, “I am simply tiring the animal out. His master has left him and he feels concerned for her”
Integra looked at Irisa. “High would be less concerning than the twilight zone, but yes I agree. I'm incredibly amused at this.” She lazily lifted her phone. “Hey Alucard, do you think modem tech would get a photo?” She couldn't resist trying. “The fact remains my heart, you are playing with a puppy.”
Irisa chuckled and followed suit, pulling her phone out of her pocket to start recording the madness. “I was about to ask if he’s had too much eggnog or something, but I wasn’t sure if you guys drank it or anything,” she smiled at Integra.
Looking over Alucard gave her a toothy hellhound smile, hoping modern technology wouldn’t capture his image but not convinced. “We can sometimes feel the effects if the blood we consume has imbibed alcohol” Alucard told her, using his mental communication once again.
Thankfully, it wasn’t like either of them would send the images to media outlets. They mostly were just going to hold it over his head that they have photos of him playing with a dog. “In simpler terms, there’s a possibility if the blood we get is from someone who’s drunk we’ll get drunk.” she laughed. “Not that I want to see him drunk, unless he’s going to play with a pound full of dogs. Then i’d be okay with it.” she grinned wickedly.
“I can’t...imagine Alucard drunk,” Irisa looked confused as she tried to imagine it. “He’s just so...serious,” she laughed, saving the video on her phone for posterity.
Alucard rolled his eyes, reforming into his usual self while leaving a small hound puppy for Dragon to play with. He moved over to the girls, “I thought it was perfectly clear how I described it” Alucard told Integra the ghost of a smirk on his lips as he sat down next to her, “I’m as serious as they come” he added to Irisa before dropping in a wink, just to startle her.
Integra nudged him as he sat down and rested there. “Sometimes you’re too analytical sounding.” she teased as she looked over at Irisa. “I’d wager him drunk is pretty scary.” she leaned up to kiss his cheek. “He could go either way - more serious or way off in the silly drunk section. Though I think him being a goofy, silly, drunk would be more terrifying.”
“I’d say he’d be terrifying either way,” Irisa grinned, watching Integra and Alucard together. It reminded her that she was somewhat intruding on their private time. “Thanks for having me over by the way, it’s nice to be with people,” she told them.
Irisa’s comment made him smile, he was rather proud that she thought he’d be scary either way. He was always proud of his ability to terrify others, when needed of course. “You’re welcome” he told her, “It wasn’t like we were going to leave you on your own, you’re practically family anyway. Besides the spare room needed to be used” he added before he got too sentimental.
She smirked a little bit. “Look at him getting all sentimental on us.” she said to Irisa before laughing and ducking. “Please, he’s right. We couldn’t just leave you on your own for a holiday like this. And despite not maintaining a regular diet, I can still cook up a good Christmas feast. Whatever you don’t eat, we’ll drop it off at a soup kitchen or food bank. I’m sure i bought too much.” like usual.
“Thanks,” Irisa smiled up at them both. “That sounds good,” she agreed with a nod, looking towards the dog now rolling on the floor. “Could Dragon have some too?”
Alucard rolled his eyes at them both but didn’t deny it, he may have gotten a little sentimental but it had all been true. “I’m sure we can give Dragon a Christmas dinner plate too” he said, smirking a little when he saw the dog almost trying to stand on his own head.
“I suppose we can spoil him too.” she said with a smirk. “That is probably the one thing I’ll miss most about holidays - the feasts were well worth the effort.” she laughed softly and shook her head a bit. “Do you think spiced blood is a doable thing?” she laughed again “that sounds awful.”
Irisa cocked her head to one side and considered the logistics of how spiced blood would even work, then wrinkled her nose as she thought about how it would taste. Would you put cinnamon sticks in it? “Can I pass on that?” she laughed. “Although I wouldn’t mind trying some mulled wine or something?” she suggested with a bright smile as she looked at the both of them.
“Perhaps if the person the blood belonged to had consumed something spiced it could work” Alucard considered, it would have to be alcohol or something to be absorbed by the blood. “Anyway, I am sure we could perhaps let you have a glass of something if you behave” he added with a smirk.
