Were you afraid of me?
Who: Lara and Bo
What: An anniversary and a game of truth or truth
Where: Mountains
when: 12/26
status: complete
Rating: high for snowbound shenanigans near the end
Escaping the dangers of firework related PTSD was fast becoming a tradition for Lara and Bo, and they’d been together a year now, so they left shortly after Christmas, intending to stay until the second. Lara had selected a cabin, it was cold but the sky was clear and there wasn’t much more snow than down in the county, so it seemed like they’d avoided any major weather.
So it seemed like a good idea to take Bo out for a hike through the snow, and enjoy the crispness of the air and the utter silence that was all around them.
While Bo liked fireworks, she liked spending time with Lara more. And she was liking their getaways. They were like little adventures in the wilderness. Lara could teach her some survival skills, maybe she’d even ask her to teach her to use a proper bow here. Now that would make a good pun, Bo learning to use a bow.
She liked the hike, having dressed warm for it. Bo at least knew better than to underestimate the cold thanks to growing up in Canada. She took in the silence around them, and she paused momentarily to glance around, breath visible in the air.
“I love how quiet it gets in the winter,” she commented.
Lara had brought one, but it was in the cabin. This wasn’t meant to be an adventuresome hike, though she had a small supply of items in her jacket for just-in-case, and she never went anywhere in the wilderness without her axe and a pistol. Especially not after the mountain-lion incident with Rogue.
“It’s the best part.” Their voices sounded loud to Lara’s ears, but she didn’t mind.
Bo was armed as well, her thigh-dagger in place. Despite the fact she was fae again, she was used to carrying her dagger thanks to her dreams. Best to be armed with something rather than not armed at all.
She smiled at Lara, letting the silence hang there for a few moments. “The best part is clear nights in the winter when the sky goes on forever. Though I’m totally onto you if you start talking about Jupiter or Saturn,” Bo teased with a loving grin.
Blushing, Lara nudged Bo in the shoulder. “Oh, next time I’ll find another way to do it. Perhaps something very old and myth like.”
There were so many places that Lara wanted to take Bo where the sky went on forever. She’d dreamed of them, or visited them, or both, and she wanted Bo to share in them.
“I look forward to it. Any way you propose is romantic.” Bo said with a grin. She loved the way Lara had proposed to her. And this was their anniversary. She had a present for Lara. Or perhaps technically it was more than one. “Where are we headed?”
Bo was letting Lara lead the way. While Bo didn’t have a bad sense of direction, Lara was better at it. And she would happily go anywhere and see anything with Lara. She hadn’t seen much the world at all, and she yearned to see more of it.
“I don’t really know. I thought we’d head up to those cliffs over there, then head back and make dinner.” She didn’t really care as long as it was with Bo, but she wasn’t in the mood for a hike that was too long. But she did want to see those cliffs a little closer at least. Call it curiosity. “A nice view before dinner, and working up an appetite.”
Looking at the cliffs, she gave a nod. “That definitely looks like we’ll get a really good view there.” She then looked at Lara. “Working up an appetite is certainly good.” Just the way she said it carried a double meaning to it, and with a smirk, she continued on towards the cliffs.
“You could make the snow melt just by standing there,” Lara muttered, falling into step next to Bo. She reached out and stuck her hand inside Bo’s jacket pocket, just to have a connection with her. “I do need to talk to you about the whole..nobility thing. And how it works. Or will work in our case.”
Grinning, she slid her hand into Lara’s pocket, to return the favor as they walked. At least the hike wasn’t requiring use of both their arms and both their legs currently so they could walk like this. “Oh yeah, of course. How is that going to work?” Bo did need to know these things. Also she had a feeling that Lara would need to teach her some things like table etiquette with the whole multiple forks and so forth. And possibly learn a couple ballroom dances for any formal affairs they may have to attend in the future.
“I’m mostly concerned with inheritance. Children are kind of unofficially required as well. And then there’s the less fun parts.” Lara wrinkled her nose. “Parties, ugh. So stuffy. The last one I attended I snuck out through a second story window.”
“Ah, yeah, I can see that. What are your feelings on it?” Bo didn’t have a solid investment one way or the other regarding children. She knew that her dream self had considered a family with Dyson, but that had since passed. Besides, she wasn’t certain she should reproduce. Though at the party mention, she chuckled. “Well, hopefully my being there can make the parties a bit more bearable? Though you’ll need to teach me about dinner etiquette and maybe a couple ballroom dances, if those are even a thing that exist outside of movies.”
“I’d be a terrible mother,” Lara admitted. With her abandomnent issues and her line of work? It wouldn’t be fair to children. “But I’d be willing to try for you. If that’s what you wanted.”
On the other hand, she thought Bo would make a great mother. “As for dances, we’ll have to learn together, I haven’t ballroom danced since I was thirteen!”
The wind started to pick up, and Lara glanced at the sky. It suddenly got dark. “Shite.”
“I don’t think I’d be a good mother either. And I don’t think having a biological child would be a good idea unless you wanted to deal with another succubus or an incubus.” Bo knew that any child she had would be fae. And they didn’t really need a child going through that horrendous bout of puberty. Adoption was probably the better option if at some point they decided they wanted a child, but for now, Bo was content to their family being just them, the cats and any other animal they adopted.
“We could take lessons together. Gotta say it would be kinda romantic to learn the tango.” Bo said, waggling her eyebrows at Lara.
Though as she heard Lara curse, Bo looked up at the sky. “Oh shit, that’s not good. We should find shelter.” She didn’t think they could make it back to the cabin before the storm hit.
“I’m not going to put either of us through a pregnancy,” Lara assured her, though she was distracted by the oncoming storm. She’d rather talk about private lessons. Though being reminded that Bo would outlive her and be alone wasn’t a very nice thing to think about, but she had plans for that.
“Come on. We can use the mountain to block most of the wind.” She took Bo’s hand. From this side of the mountain there wasn’t much that was obvious. A small overhang would help but it wouldn’t be enough. “Find me a branch, a nice thick one, I’m going to dig out some snow.”
Outliving Lara was something Bo didn’t like to think about either. It was painful to her, and she knew she would be alone. Knowing herself and just how much she loved Lara, she wouldn’t even try to find someone else that went beyond her needing chi. Bo also didn’t want to think about outliving Kenzi. That would be a loss that she probably wouldn’t get over.
Holding Lara’s hand, she followed after her. At the instruction of finding a thick branch, Bo nodded and began looking for one. She spotted something sticking out of the snow off to one side and she made her way over to it, when simply pulling on it didn’t yield results, Bo dug away some of the snow to reveal that the branch was still attached to a larger piece of a fallen tree. She broke the thick branch off, then brought it back to Lara. “Will this work?”
“Perfect. I’ll need your superhuman help though. We need to dig out a little cave in the snow. With our shared body heat we’ll be able to keep warm, but there’s a risk of losing some heat in these clothes.” Lara started to dig. They needed something big enough for two people with a little space left over, but not so large as to keep it draftier than necessary. “Once it’s built we can use that stick to dig our way back out when the storm has passed.”
Bo nodded and also proceeded to help dig. At least she had her superhuman strength back. She also tried not to let thoughts of the implications of these clothes making them lose body heat meant. That would come once they’d carved out a place to hunker down in while the storm went through.
“You know, this is the second time we’ve been caught in a storm.” Bo stated, alluding to the time they’d been out and the Rover had been buried in a snowbank the year before.
“Wasn’t that our first date?” Had they accidentally stepped into an anniversary tradition? Lara wasn’t sure she liked the idea, but it mostly meant she’d have to prepare better next year. And she would. At least better than she was prepared right now. All she had were her basic tools, the axe, and whatever was in her pack. She was pretty sure they could share a thermal blanket, but their clothing would sap more heat than she’d like.
With the dug out, dug out, Lara started to search through her pack. The storm was picking up, and outside the sloped entrance Lara couldn’t see very far at all. She laid the thermal blanket on the ground to provide some protection from how cold that was. “Next time I’m packing more for a hike in the snow.”
“Yes, it was.” Bo couldn’t help the fond smile. It had been a very nice date, even with getting stuck in the snow. It had been time spent with Lara, and that was what mattered. Well, that and the fact that they’d gotten out of there alive, of course.
“Probably a good idea.” Especially with how crazy the weather seemed to be at this time of year. She looked out at the storm, noting how quickly the visibility had gone away. “At least we’ve got our shelter from the storm, and a way to dig ourselves out once it’s passed.” But until then, they would need to stay warm.
A very nice, sexually charged date, and that had been before Bo’s powers had even kicked in. Even now, a year later, Lara wanted to touch her and be touched in return and lose herself in Bo’s scent and warmth. And she felt that nearly every time she looked at her.
That was probably a hint that Bo was the person for her, at least in this life. The way Bo treated her issues only drove that point home further.
Suddenly emotional, Lara swallowed, and resumed the whole shelter thing. She shrugged out of her jacket and pulled out all the tools so they could use it to make a nest. Not exactly the fireplace she’d been hoping for today, but they were going to be here a week and hopefully the remaining seven days would be spent in the cabin.. “I’ve a couple energy bars too. We should save those.”
Not for the first time, Bo was glad she hadn’t gotten her powers yet, otherwise that date might’ve killed her with the sexual energy in the air without sex being an outcome. Bo didn’t look down on it because of that, quite the opposite really. She’d wanted their first time together to have been in better circumstances than in a car stuck in the snow.
And now it was their anniversary, and here they were stuck in the snow again, though it was far more intimate this time. Here, it was just them. They weren’t in a car on a street in Orange County. Bo wasn’t afraid at all, having complete trust in Lara’s survival instincts. She listened to everything she’d tell her to do so they could make it through however long they would be stuck here.
“Yeah, probably best to save those. But at least we’re together.” Weathering something like this alone would be hell, especially for Bo because she wasn’t exactly up on her winter survival skills to this extreme.
Their first time together had been much better circumstances, and Lara blushed just thinking about it. “I’m glad we are. It’s not fun being stuck in the snow alone.”
Lara laid down, pulling Bo down with her and arranging their jackets as blankets. She immediately started to rub at Bo’s back. “Glad I’m not in a dress right now.”
Bo instantly snuggled up to Lara, slipping her arms around her as she smiled. “A dress would not be conducive to hiking in the snow anyway. At the very least, it would be very drafty.” She managed to suppress a chuckle at that, but her eyes were sparkling a bit deviously.
“I’m sure both of us could hike in dresses and heels without too much difficulty. You are a very graceful person.” Lara’s hand rubbed up and down Bo’s side, before slipping into her shirt to warm up. And Lara’s hands were very, very cold. Like ice, really. She had a devious grin on her face. “You’re so warm.”
“Somehow I doubt I could manage to hike in snow wearing heels. I’m not Legolas.” Bo made a reference to The Lord of the Rings. Considering Legolas was an elf and walked on the snow and such. Though as that very cold hand slid inside her shirt and touched her skin, Bo let out a screech, back arching and trying to move away from the cold sensation. “Lara!” She chastised through a laugh.
“Legolas cheated.” Lara snuggled in closer, laughing at Bo’s shriek. She kissed her jaw. “Come closer.” The trick was keeping warm without sweating too much, or at least avoiding making their clothing wet. And friction was the way to go.
“He’s an elf, he cheats by nature.” Any elf would probably have the same sort of ability if they were put in the snow like that. Bo decided to take her revenge, slipping one hand into Lara’s shirt. It was probably the equivalent of ice touching Lara’s warm skin. She pressed Closer to Lara at the invitation, more than enjoying being so close to her.
Lara shrieked this time, her mouth against Bo’s neck to muffle the sound. Okay, she’d deserved that. And she knew her feet could get cold and it wouldn’t be the first time she’d gotten Bo with them. But wasn’t that half the fun of sharing the bed with someone? Cold hands and feet and the resulting screaming and laughing?
“The wind is really howling out there.”
This time it was Bo’s turn to laugh. That was another of her favorite things about winter, the copious amounts of snuggling to provide more warmth in bed. Not that she was opposed to it at other times of year, but there was just an added bonus regarding it in the winter. She pressed a kiss to Lara’s cheek.
“It is, but it’s definitely nice to have a place safe from it.”
Lara would rather the cabin, or even a cave they could make a campfire in. But she snuggled close to Bo. “As safe as we can get. I’m lucky you’re so warm.” Lara lifted her head and smiled cheekily, before leaning in and kissing her. “This isn’t what I had planned for tonight.”
She returned the kiss and chuckled. “I hope it wasn’t, otherwise I’d have questions about getting stuck in the snow last year as well.” Bo grinned a bit and kissed Lara again. “I had other plans as well, but I suppose we do have a week here, we can stretch out the celebrations. Which is totally fine with me because I love you and I totally don’t mind showing it time and time again.” And she didn’t mean through sex either. There were many other ways in which they showed love.
“I don’t even know what would have happened if it hadn’t snowed last year.” Which was a lie. Lara knew damn well she’d have let Bo do whatever she’d wanted. They’d pretty much been going back to her place to do just that. But somehow the experience felt like it had meant more than it would have otherwise. “I guess you’ll have to unwrap your present tomorrow night.”
Despite the very real danger of their situation, Lara was relaxed. She wasn’t too worried and they were wrapped up in a fort of snow. Just them, and the sound of the blizzard outside. Nothing in the world could get to them right now, and Lara pressed her forehead against Bo’s. “Have I told you how much I love you?”
It wasn’t that difficult to imagine where that night would have gone had they made it back to Lara’s. But as it was, Bo was happy that they hadn’t had sex for the first time until Christmas. She smiled warmly. “We’ll just have to do the present exchange tomorrow night.” Bo had more than one for Lara. Of course, one was an actual wrapped gift, the other one would be lingerie Bo would be wearing.
She closed her eyes as Lara pressed her forehead against hers. Despite the potential danger they were in getting buried in snow, Bo was content. And it was good that Lara was calm, it meant she didn’t have to use her calming power on her. Because she probably would use it without asking first if Lara started getting worked up in this enclosed area of theirs. It would be the easiest way to keep them all calm and as safe as possible.
“I don’t know, how much do you love me?” Bo responded with a smile.
It could be easy to panic. But Lara wasn’t going to panic just yet. There was no reason to, really, and Bo was warm and smelled nice. She smiled and murmured, “We will. Too bad. I’m sure you would have enjoyed...tearing it off of me.”
It wasn’t too much to tease and taunt her, and that was a being stuck in the snow tradition too.
It was indeed a tradition, though the last time Bo hadn’t had her succubus powers yet. This time around, teasing too much came with consequences. Once Bo was turned on, it was near impossible to turn her off without having sex. But Lara was more than aware of the limits and the consequences, so Bo trusted her to know when, or if, to stop.
Of course it was another thing entirely if she wanted to push Bo deliberately and have the succubus take control of the situation.
“I do enjoy tearing things off of you.” She replied with a smirk. Lara was gorgeous, and Bo did so enjoy unwrapping her each time they were together.
“From the number of shirts and knickers I’ve had to replace, you must.” Was Lara joking? No, no she wasn’t. She didn’t sound mad though. Nuzzling her mouth under Bo’s chin, she murmured. “One of these days, I’m going to tear one of your shirts.”
“I can sometimes be a little impatient,” she said with some bemusement. Though it was a well stated fact that if Bo was hungry enough, or needed immediate healing, clothes were far more likely to rip due to her more primal succubus nature. She tilted her head back, giving Lara more access to her neck. “That would be very hot.” And it would be. Bo did like when Lara showed off her strength.
It was a well known fact that when that happened Lara was usually too turned on to really care. “I should probably show restraint tonight.”
Each and every word was punctuated by either a nip or a kiss along Bo’s throat. Lara shivered. It was cold enough for her to really notice, even underneath their jackets and as close as they were. But if they kept moving and added some friction, they’d be okay.
An unfortunate downside to rubbing her hands up and down Bo’s back was how quickly it could turn Bo on. “We need to keep our core’s warm. Rub each others’ backs. Chests.”
Bo groaned softly and shivered a bit, also feeling the cold. This could quickly become very frustrating to her considering how easily she could get turned on, and she would suggest that Lara could stop touching her and she could just keep Lara warm. But that would not have a good result for Bo staying warm.
Even so, Bo would rather keep Lara warm than risk melting the snow around them and causing it to collapse on top of them. She rubbed her hands along Lara’s back, pulling her closer against her.
“Maybe envisioning being on a beach in the Bahamas or Hawaii would help?” Imagining they were somewhere warmer couldn’t hurt, could it? Unless they started thinking about the other in a swimsuit.
“A beach maybe. Or climbing the volcano. Perhaps diving into one of the wrecks, or discovering a hidden tomb…” Lara’s mind went from one to the other really quickly, but it was a path that was probably predictable. She slid up a bit and rested her forehead against Bo’s, her hands moving in lazy circles on her back.
“Have you ever gone scuba diving?”
It was a predictable path, and one that made Bo smile. Lara could make an adventure out of anything, which was something Bo loved about her. There was never a dull moment when around Lara. Sometimes it was for the better, sometimes for the worse, but that was how life was. Her hands kept rubbing along Lara’s back, moving up and down along it.
“No, I haven’t. I haven’t even been swimming in the ocean.” Which was probably sacrilege since their home was on the ocean.
Adventure typically found her after all. “...okay I know what we’re doing this spring.” Swimming and scuba diving and exploring, Lara would teach Bo everything she needed to know!
While adventure typically found Lara, trouble typically found Bo. Or Bo found trouble. Sometimes it was both. “Speaking of spring, we should probably talk about where to go for our honeymoon.” Especially if they settled on somewhere on the ocean.
Adventure and trouble made them the perfect combo.
“That’s a good idea.” Lara’s teeth chattered, and she hooked her legs through Bo’s. Then she unhooked them. Her pants felt damp enough from the snow to present a problem, so she started to push them off. Socks had to go too. “First, you need to take off anything that’s gotten damp.”
It was a good thing that they both could handle adventure and trouble when it came.
Only when she heard Lara’s teeth chatter did the cold start to register in her mind. Of course, Bo had been a bit distracted by other things. Staying close to Lara, Bo started to feel around her clothes for anything that was damp. Bo shifted slightly and managed to pull her shirt off, as that had a dampness to it. This time, she was wearing a bra. “You know, we should’ve made a game out of this. You know, something fun like strip poker,” Bo quipped as her own teeth chattered.
“I’m not sure I could focus on imaginary cards right now,” Lara replied. “It would have to be truth or strip, or something like that.” Which would be an interesting game.
Lara was now down to just her knickers, and she rolled so Bo was on top of her. Like a nice blanket.
“I like truth or strip. Though currently, the strip part would be kind of null and void.” Considering both of them were basically naked by this point. Bo had shrugged out of her clothes down to her underwear. With Lara on top of her, she returned to running her hands along Lara’s back, moving faster to try and generate more heat.
“We could always just play truth, ask each other things we haven’t asked before?” It could be interesting. And, hopefully, distract them both from the cold.
That was a really good idea. Lara snuggled in, letting her hands try to rub warmth into Bo’s skin and tangling their legs together. “Did you ever consider running away? When we were first getting serious.”
The fact that they were skin-to-skin was going to drive her crazy eventually, but for now she focused on rubbing warmth into Lara and on the questions. “Once or twice, yeah. It scared me, but I never considered it for a prolonged period of time. When it comes down to it, I don’t give up on things I’m invested in unless I have reason to. And you never gave me a reason to run.” Unlike her partners in her dreams or her adoptive parents, but those were entirely different stories.
“Did you have second thoughts about us when I first told you I was a succubus?”
There was always something a little erotic about skin to skin contact, even in this context. Lara thought Bo was special - she’d never really experienced or felt this kind of thing with anyone else. If they were in the cabin hands would be other places by now.
She pressed her lips against Bo’s collar bone. “I tried very hard to make you feel welcome. And no, I didn’t have any second thoughts. It didn’t even cross my mind. I probably enjoy it when you zap me a little too much though. But that’s never been why I’m with you or wanted to stay with you.”
Lara sought out another question. “Is there anything you’ve ever wanted that I haven’t given you? Or that you’re afraid to ask me.”
Hands would definitely be going other places if there wasn’t the danger of melting snow and getting buried in snow. Her hands rubbed along Lara’s sides before moving back to her back. Bo placed a kiss to Lara’s shoulder.
“No, there isn’t. Even if there’s something that I’m afraid to ask, I do eventually ask.” It just sometimes took a bit to either get the nerve or find the right wording for it. “When did you first realize you were in love with me?”
“Oh god,” Lara laughed, tangling her fingers in Bo’s hair. “I don’t...really remember. It feels like it’s been this way all along.” But after a moment, she swallowed, and said. “Do you remember the fog? And your dreams after, how they dug into your self-esteem issues. Around there I think.” The way Bo treated Lara’s issues, and Lara’s heart aching for Bo’s...it had all kind of come to a head.
“Yeah, I do. Kind of hard to forget that.” Looking back on it now, it was still painful to think about, but Bo had a different perspective now. In a way, she wondered if it was an early test for her Dawning, considering she had to face herself and find her way out during it all the while that succubus underfae that she could have devolved into was threatening to come out. It was still painful to think how close Bo had come to dying in the fog, but nearly dying was a trademark of her dreams, so it hardly phased her much anymore. “But what I remember most is the fact that you walked over broken glass to help me.”
Lara cupped Bo’s face, stroking her thumbs over her cheekbones. “I would do it again. A thousand times for you, over and over again. Broken glass is nothing.”
She gazed deeply into Lara’s eyes. She loved this woman more and more with each passing moment. “I would do the very same thing for you, that and more.” Bo would do whatever it took to help Lara or save her from herself. Bo then rolled them over, taking a turn playing blanket for Lara as her hands rubbed up Lara’s sides. “I love you with every fiber of my being.”
Bo managed to hit something on Lara’s ribs that made her breath hitch and she couldn’t quite suppress a groan. Trying to ignore it and a sudden surge of desire for Bo to use something they didn’t have on their person, she nudged her forehead into Bo’s and held her close. Even if it wasn’t as close as she wanted. She wanted to be pressed against Bo, to share skin with her. “I love you.”
That little groan was more than enough to flip Bo’s on switch, though it had probably already been flipped, she’d just noticed it now. She pressed her body closer and tighter against Lara’s and closed her eyes. She loved how their bodies fit together. “You are amazing,” she said, not daring to open her eyes. Chances were getting larger that they’d be blue the next time she opened them.
“Fuck,” Lara breathed. She wrapped her arms around Bo’s back, wriggling underneath her. “Tr-..truth. Uhm.” She thunked her head against the ground. “It’s my turn, right? A movie you’ve never seen but always wanted to?”
Bo clenched her jaw at Lara’s wriggling. At the question, Bo rubbed her cheek against Lara’s partially for more friction and partially because she actually needed to think about that answer. “Um…The Wizard of Oz. My parents never allowed me to watch that movie and it’s one of those things that I only remember exists intermittently.” It was hard to find a movie that she hadn’t seen and wanted to, but there was that one. “Do you have a favorite place on Earth? Or if not one, how about a top five?”
“First thing… we’re doing is watching that movie,” Lara promised. Sam had loved it and so had she, so she definitely had a copy. They could make a list if they figured out any others. Lara’s hands moved down Bo’s back. “Red Desert, the Highlands, Greece, this little pub in London, and anywhere with you.”
“Greece would be a fascinating place to visit.” Bo would definitely love to visit it some day. Despite knowing she was Irish, she felt inexplicably drawn to Greece, like something was pulling her there. It was odd, but she figured it was just because it had a lot of history to it, and it was a beautiful country on top of that.
“You’d love it,” Lara breathed. “It’s so beautiful. So much history.... Is there a history or mythology you’re particularly interested in? Besides the Irish.”
It was getting harder to not start having her way with Lara, but she was resisting it, keeping her hands to rubbing warmth into Lara without her hands wandering. “Greek. I’ve always liked the mythology, and the ruins left behind by the ancient Greeks are beautiful. Have you been to where Troy was located?” Bo could’ve sworn that she’d seen a documentary in recent years where archaeologists had found evidence of an ancient city in the area where Troy was supposed to be located. It was a real place, wasn’t it?
“Yes…” The whole country was beautiful and Lara tried to think of the things she liked about it. At least she felt warm, or was at least distracted from the cold. She never wanted to let go of Bo though, and now her legs were wrapped around her too. “We could go, sometime.”
Before she realized it, once Lara’s legs were around her, Bo’s hands rubbed down her thighs. Then she realized where her hands were and she slid them back up to go back to rubbing Lara above the hips. “I would love that.”
“Your turn to ask a question,” Lara replied, rocking her hips against Bo’s stomach. They had to slow down just a little. Or at least avoid working up a sweat. It probably didn’t help that she whispered those words against Bo’s lips.
“How close have you come to wanting to strangle me when I’m being stubborn?” She asked with a smile because she knew she probably drove Lara crazy sometimes when she dug in. Bo at least recognized that short coming of hers, it wasn’t news to her. Though Lara’s whisper certainly didn’t help, and the way Lara’s hips rocked against her made her groan softly. She brushed her lips over Lara’s, doing her very best to not dive right into sex.
At least they were off the sexy questions, Bo could easily make Lara turn crimson if she asked the right kind. Not that Bo’s hands could get anywhere with Lara clinging like this. Which may be part of the point. She laughed breezily. “Within an inch once or twice. I wouldn’t actually hurt you, though.”
“I know you wouldn’t,” she responded with a chuckle. And Bo did know that. The only time that Lara potentially would was if her PTSD got triggered and Bo just happened to be in the way. While she may wish to slide her hands to specific places on Lara’s body, she was content to lay like this, skin against skin, bodies melded together.
“Are you? Are you ever afraid I’ll…” Lara trailed off. “Were you afraid of me, when you played that game? And saw what I was capable of?”
“No, I’m not afraid of you and what you’re capable of. You don’t hurt people without a good reason. The people on that island, the cultists and the Oni, if you didn’t kill them, they would’ve killed you. You have your triggers, yes, but I’m not afraid of you.” Bo replied. “Turning the same question on you, are you ever afraid that I could kill you with a kiss?” It was a constant worry on Bo’s mind that she could lose control one day and take all of Lara’s chi.
Or even potentially do worse with that dark side of her taking control.
"No." There was no hesitation in Lara's response, or doubt in her voice. "I've never been afraid of that. Accidents happen, it would be foolish not to acknowledge that, but I'm not afraid of it, or of you losing control."
Lara kissed the corner of her mouth. "If it ever did happen, you can't blame yourself. Just like I shouldn’t blame myself if I hurt you because of my triggers."
“If it did happen, you know it’ll take a long time before I could get to that point of not blaming myself.” Bo would probably take it as hard, if not harder, than her dream self had for killing Kyle. She nuzzled her cheek against Lara’s before she turned her head and pressed a kiss to Lara’s cheek. “It’s your turn to ask a question.”
“Probably something less deep,” Lara whispered. She kissed Bo again, this time right on her lips, and let the kiss linger and their breath mingle. Her skin was singing. “Name one event you’d kill to see.”
The kiss sent a jolt of electricity through her, but she kept a tight grip on herself as the kiss lingered. This was intensely sensual despite the danger of their current situation. “Oh god, I don’t know, Mardi Gras? Mardi Gras always seems like it’d be fun, though it would be an intense minefield for both of us, I’m sure.” After all, with all the partying and drinking going on, it seemed like sexual energy would run rampant there. Not to mention the sheer amount of people and loud noises that could set Lara off. “Would you ever write a book about your travels?”
“Lets do that next year,” Lara suggested, her hands inching down Bo’s back. They’d figure it out. “Fuck…” She arched her body against Bo, need writ on her face. “Nudity was not the smartest idea.”
Bo hummed soft approval as Lara’s hands inched down her back. It was getting very difficult to not move her hands to specific places on Lara’s body. “Maybe, maybe not but wearing damp clothes in here wouldn’t do us any good.” She placed a kiss to Lara’s jaw.
“Getting sweaty won’t either,” Lara said, tilting her head back. Something Bo had done or something in how they’d shifted together had made her thoughts hazy. She suddenly wanted a lot from Bo. Or just wanted Bo. At least she wasn’t feeling any more of the cold.
“Perhaps there’s a happy medium where we won’t get sweaty,” Bo said, placing another kiss to Lara’s jaw. She had a thought of slipping a hand between Lara’s legs and slowly bring her to an orgasm. Going slowly with minimal movement would cut down on potential sweating.
"I wasn't aware that you were capable of that kind of control." Lara grinned, writhing again and pressing her chest against Bo's. For the hundredth time she marveled at the way Bo could make her lose her sense of everything. A year ago she never would have even contemplated this, it was too dangerous.
But Lara was discovering she was a little turned on by danger.
Bo had to laugh as well. “I used to be before the succubus happened.” There had been a time when she’d learned to be relatively quiet during sex so as to not get caught by parents and the like. “I could give it a try if you wanted.” She brushed her lips against Lara’s chin, eyes watching Lara’s.
“Mm, you’re the one who needs it more than me,” Lara retorted. She was very worried that Bo was going to have problems at this rate, and she didn’t want her getting sick because she refused to take any Chi. Or got refused love making.
The only problems Bo would have if Lara said no was trying to flip her on switch to the off position. At least currently. The only time she’d get weak from not having chi was if she went a few days without feeding, such as what had happened after the crap with Inari had happened. “Only if you’re certain you want to.” Bo wasn’t going to ever take advantage of Lara, and she didn’t want to start something based off of her needing it more than Lara.
In answer, Lara unwrapped one leg from around Bo and moved it between her thighs. She pressed up, hard, then whispered, “Slow.”
Bo groaned at the feeling of Lara’s leg pressing up between her legs. Her eyes turned blue in response to that on switch being hit repeatedly. “Slow,” she repeated as she gave Lara a slow, but deeply sensual kiss. At the same time, she slid one hand down along Lara’s side, and she moved it slowly.
“Fuck.” Lara drank in the kiss, slowly and suredly moving her leg between Bo’s leg as she shivered not from cold, but from Bo’s touch. “That’s….good.”
She groaned again, her hand slowly trailing over Lara’s hip and down her leg as far as she could reach. She caressed the skin of Lara’s thigh with her fingertips as she pressed a kiss behind Lara’s ear right behind the hinge of her jaw.
This was how Lara Croft was going to die. Not by freezing to death but by murder at the talented hands of her fiance and a well placed kiss on her jaw. She liked this though, being able to touch Bo while still giving her pleasure. She blinked away sudden emotional tears.
It was difficult to go slow once her motor was going, but Bo was managing it. She kept her body pressed tightly against Lara’s, more than loving the contact between them. She rolled her hips down against Lara’s leg as her hand trailed over her knee and began slowly moving up Lara’s inner thigh. She then gave a little nip to Lara’s earlobe.
The sound of the blizzard outside was drowned out by the blood rushing through Lara’s ears. She tilted her head back, mouth falling open and a whiney little gasp slipping out of her throat. “God. Right there.”
Smiling, Bo gave another nip to Lara’s earlobe before flicking her tongue against it. She did so enjoy finding new spots on her fiancée that made her react like that. Her fingers continued their slow climb up Lara’s thigh, caressing lightly as they went before her hand slipped between Lara’s legs. Slowly, she slid one finger along Lara, adding some pressure but not too much just yet.
“I love you,” she practically purred against Lara’s ear, her hot breath caressing her skin.
“Shit..” Lara laughed, her body shaking already. She was trembling under her skin, and Bo could probably tell just how ready she already was. She didn’t have the fucks to give to be embarrassed right now about it. “I love you.”
She could feel just how ready Lara was, and she gave it to her. Bo slid two fingers inside Lara while her thumb rubbed against her clit. At the same time, Bo found Lara’s lips and kissed her deeply and yet slowly.
Lara growled something deep and unintelligible, kissing the sounds into Bo’s mouth and struggling very hard to not rock her hips too hard or too fast. This was exactly what she needed from Bo right now and it was perfect and it felt perfect.
Bo groaned into Lara’s mouth, the noises and movements serving as some intense turn ons for her. She moved her thumb a little faster, adding a little more pressure. She moved her fingers in and out of Lara a little quicker, hitting against her most sensitive spots as she went.
“Fuck…!” Lara jerked, smacking her head into the ground. She started to laugh, groaned, laughed some more, then arched her back and let out a… squeak.
Bo had to chuckle a bit at Lara’s own laugh. She placed a kiss to Lara’s neck as her fingers kept working on Lara, wanting to drag this out a bit more. It was really hot, and this was an excellent thing to make them forget about the cold and the snow.
The squeak was embarrassing, never speak of the squeak.
Tension built up inside Lara until she thought she was going to burst and she dragged her nails across Bo’s ass, trying to pull her down onto her thigh as she got closer and closer. “S..lower.” It was a warning, but the kind of warning she didn’t want to give.
She let out a moan at the feeling of Lara’s nails on her ass, and she pressed down against Lara’s thigh. She slowed her fingers down, which was hard to do, but she managed it, going back to a slower pace.
“Good...good...good..” Lara repeated, tilting her head back again. “I think I’m going to die.” She laughed, reaching her hand up to press Bo’s face against her neck. She was on the edge but she didn’t want to go over it alone. Then she tugged on Bo’s hair and murmured. “When I come I want you to take my chi.”
She couldn’t remember if they’d ever done that but it sounded really sexy in her head.
Bo pressed a couple kisses and a couple nips to Lara’s neck, smiling against her skin and groaning as she pressed against Lara’s thigh, slowly rocking her hips so as not to work up a sweat. She kept her fingers working on Lara, groaning again at Lara’s words to her. She didn’t think they’d done that before, and it was rather hot to think about. “It would be my pleasure,” she responded a bit huskily.
Eyes going shut, Lara felt the wave build bit by bit. Then it washed over her and she moaned throatily into Bo’s mouth, her body shaking and shuddering.
As Lara’s orgasm hit her, Bo’s eyes turned blue and she took some chi from Lara, gaze locked onto her fiancée’s as she did so. She kept her fingers moving until Lara’s orgasm had stopped.
It drew out Lara’s orgasm for nearly a full, very loud minute, before she turned her head to catch her breath. The combined pleasure and pain made her dizzy. “Oh… god.” It was easier to say that than Bo’s name right now, or just about anything else. She wrapped herself around Bo again and nuzzled her shoulder. “God.”
That very loud minute was more than enough to set off Bo’s orgasm. The pairing of Lara’s pleasure, her thigh pressed against her and the hit of chi pushed her over the edge. She let out a loud moan before she pulled her fingers away from Lara and sagged against her a bit. “That...was amazing,” she said a bit breathlessly as she held Lara.
Lara started laughing, kissing Bo several times as she did so. She felt like she was floating and warm and she wasn't near as sweaty as she'd feared she would be. She swallowed hard, knowing that she felt warm enough to need to cool down but that they really shouldn't cool down. "We should...look into that Tantric thing."
Grinning, she kissed Lara back, also feeling rather warm, but not overly so. This was certainly a situation she hadn’t anticipated ever having sex in, but she could definitely say that it had been hot. “Tantric thing? What Tantric thing?” She asked, not certain what Lara was referring to.
Laughing again, Lara booped Bo’s nose. “We’re going to google tantric sex when we get back to the cabin. I think you’ll like what we find.”
She laughed when Lara booped her nose. “Tantric sex? That could certainly be something to look into that I may like.” She grinned a bit. Of course, anything involving sex appealed to her succubus self, as did anything involving Lara.
“Lets just say,” Lara whispered. “That part of it involves going hours without release. Hours. Hours before giving in. I don’t think you can do it.”
“Hours? Holy shit,” Bo said. “I’m intrigued to learn more about it, though.” And clearly was not something to be used when she needed chi quickly. It was something more to be done between her feedings when it wasn’t so important that her energy be replenished.
“Hours. It’s supposed to increase intimacy and lead to powerful orgasms.” Lara thought that Bo would definitely appreciate that.
“That would certainly be something to try.” Bo wasn’t certain if she could actually make it that long, but she’d very definitely try because she liked intimacy with Lara. And hey, if they tried and she failed at it, at least they tried it, right?
“Maybe not during this vacation.” Though Lara had an idea of what she wanted to do next, once they’d warmed up and made it safely to the cabin.
“We can work up to it. And also probably not during a time when I need to feed either.” Because taking chi during that was cheating and defeating the purpose of it all.
“Probably just after you feed and I’ve had a chance to recover,” Lara suggested. She just hoped Bo didn’t ask why she knew about this.
“That might be the optimum time, yeah.” Bo was wondering how Lara knew about something like this, but she also wasn’t surprised. With as many cultures as she’d been exposed to in her travels and studies, nothing much surprised Bo on what Lara knew.
Lara rolled onto her side, still snuggled against Bo. They needed to stay awake now, but at least it was warm. Or the semblance of warmth, as the case might be.
"Do you want to hear a story?"
Bo snuggled against Lara, holding her close and gently rubbing her back. It was certainly warmer now. “I would love to.” She always loved listening to Lara tell stories. So she settled in and listened.
