Anne was happy to host a Christmas party at the hotel. It was a good chance to promote the hotel and mingle with her friends and local business people. And Jim. She'd invited Jim, looking forward to spending more time with him, talking and dancing the night away.

The event hall looked amazing, a huge Christmas tree was in the corner, decorated in tasteful red and white decorations. The decorations around the hall matched the tree and her staff were milling about the crowd offering drinks and canapes. Overall, she was very pleased with how things were going. Spying Jim, she headed over to him.

"Hey you," she grinned up at him, sashaying up to him. "What do you think?"

	Tessa was sipping on her champagne and admiring the Christmas decorations. She had talked with a few local business owners, enjoyed a few of the canapes on offer and danced with Will, but now she was stood to the side, taking in the atmosphere when someone came up behind her. "I have to say you looked absolutely perfect dancing earlier" Vanessa told Tessa as she appeared behind her with a smile on her face and a drink in her hand.

She had been in two minds about coming at first since she wasn't in her mind a local business but as Dorian had pointed out she had received an invitation so she had come along. She couldn't help but be relieved when she spotted a familiar face and had made her way over to say hello once her friend had finished dancing.

	"Vanessa! Hi!" Tessa turned and hugged her friend with one arm, keeping her champagne held to the side as she did. "Thank you very much, but I'm sure most of it is Will looking so dashing in his suit. It detracts from me," she smiled demurely. "How have you been? I'm glad to see you here," she smiled. "Not at all. You look stunning and elegant as always too" Vanessa told her, she always felt a kind of kinship with Tessa. They were both old souls perhaps.

"I've been well thank you. Adjusting to being an engaged woman" she smiled brightly, her engagement to Dorian had been a happy surprise. "I wasn't sure about coming if I'm honest but it was Dorian who convinced me"

	"Thank you, that's very sweet of you" Vanessa said, it was strange but since the dreams Vanessa favoured what would be viewed as rather victorian styles but in a slightly more modern version. Irisa had come as a guest of Tessa's, the older woman citing wanting to get her out and about more. Having nothing else to do and nowhere else to be, she had been glammed up and dragged along to this do. Sticking to the non-alcoholic drink, she stood by the door watching the people mill about. The clientele here were definitely a different sort than some of the ones she'd seen trying to steal from Tessa's store. She felt like a definite fish out of water.

Will noticed Irisa seemed uncomfortable so decided to help out. In his own Will way of course. He didn't know Irisa all that well but knew she'd helped Tessa out a number of times.

"You know..." he began so she'd know it was him before his arm dropped over her shoulders, "...mingling isn't all that scary. You just have to take the leap and talk to people" he grinned down at her.

	"What if you don't like people?" Irisa grumbled. She'd never really got people, never had much of a compulsion to talk to them either. She had her favoured few in Tessa, Myrcella, Alucard, Integra and Athos but she didn't much like going outside her comfort zone. "You like people though, don't you? Why?" 	"If you don't like them just fake it until you find some you do like" Will said, "I love people. I find them to be...entertaining. Especially in places like this. Most people are harmless" he shrugged, he also liked being the centre of attention which you couldn't be on your own. "Of course I am naturally charming. "Why thank, but I can't take all the credit, I'm not sure this would have come together quite so well if Constance weren't here," Anne smiled at him. "You look more dashing than normal," she grinned, daring to reach out and run her fingers down a lapel of his suit. The backs of her fingers brushed down his chest as she took a slight step closer. "I'm not sure I'll be able to invite you to any more black tie events. Every woman and even some of the men want to take you home with them," she grinned cheekily.

Anne smiled brightly at him as he charmed her, tilting her head and leaning in to him, looking up at him in adoration. "Can I call dibs on you then? Reserve you as it were? At least for a dance or two," she asked quietly. She still wasn't quite sure exactly what they were to each other yet. Wasn't quite brave enough to have that conversation either. Jim was much more experienced than her with relationships and the like, would she measure up to women he had been with in the past? Be enough?

Maybe she would be brave enough or tipsy enough to ask those questions later, but for now she was more than happy to just be with him. "Thank you for coming, I'm really happy to have you here," she told him genuinely, resting her palm on his chest and smiling.

Constance couldn't deny that she was having fun. The hotel was perfect, she and Anne had made sure of it and the staff were doing a marvelous job. Nobody was empty handed unless they were on the dance floor which was precisely how it should be at a good Christmas party.

She was keeping an eye out for Ronnie, he'd become a good friend since she'd moved here and she felt incredibly relaxed around him.
