As early as it was to be thinking about Christmas, Alucard had been gripped by the need to find something extra special for Integra, something unique and beautiful. He’d had the weapon made for Irisa as a gift and of course he’d had a little something special done for Integra too. But that had led them him to think about what was coming and he thought jewellery would be perfect.
Following up on a tip he’d been given he headed to the market to search for a specific girl.
All things considered, things were slowly calming down. Or well… no. The news as of late had been hard on her, taking her back to places she never wanted to return but were always there. So when she wasn’t swimming or working or working on custom orders, Annie was throwing herself into her designs for the weekend markets. And well… the holiday season was right around the corner. It seemed to her that those who created felt it in a completely different way than most as they needed to have stock.
At present there was a lull in customers and so she was working on some sketches for things to try once she closed up for the day after going to Finnick’s.
Locating the stall Alucard moved forward, “Excuse me, are you Miss Cresta?” he enquired, glancing over the things she had for sale. They were certainly well crafted and beautiful, he had a good feeling about the small woman he was smiling at.
Hearing someone speak up, Annie blinked as she looked up from her sketching, “Hmm? Oh yes, that would be me.” It was always nice when she got someone who had been recommended to her. Which she could only assume was the case as he had asked for her by name. Smiling, she closed the sketchbook and set it aside, “How can i help you?”
“I'm looking for something unique and special for my girlfriend” Alucard told her, “A bracelet perhaps” since Integra already had the necklace from her dreams. “Would you be at all interested in working with me on something bespoke?”
Unique and special, she could certainly do that. And it would be an additional challenge just because she was working with other people’s specifications while still creating, which was something she enjoyed. Yes she liked free range of designs as she was right now, but she appreciated the challenge as well in being commissioned. “I would certainly be interested. Anything specific besides it being a bracelet?”
“I have a few ideas, if any could be incorporated that would be wonderful” Alucard said pulling out some sketches, “Whatever you feel fits with the design you're inspired to create”
Taking a look at the sketches, Annie nodded some thoughtfully. “I should be able to incorporate them in.” Some at any rate. It would take some planning but with two months until Christmas, that was plenty of time even with the other projects she had lined up. “Any particular preference on what sort of metal you’d like, or allergies to metals that I should know about?”
“Gold preferably, payment in advance for materials of course” he added quickly, “No allergies but please don't use blessed metal, an odd request I'm sure but there are reasons for it” Alucard knew some gold could come from crosses which was why he mentioned it.
The only reaction Annie had to the comment about blessed metal was a quirked eyebrow but she filed the information away. There were reasons that would come up, dream related if she had to hazard a guess, it was too specific a request to be a coincidence. As such she nodded and noted the specification. “No blessed metal, got it.” Well that was certainly something. Only in Orange County.
It was certainly a credit to this county that such requests were made and barely remarked upon, in some ways it was a blessing. Even if the dreams themselves could be considered curses more often than not. “Thank you. Obviously it’s for a Christmas gift, have I given you sufficient time to work on it?” he checked.
While there were some things Annie could do without thanks to Orange County, she did still appreciate the life she had. If that meant just going with peculiar requests like no blessed metal? That really wasn’t a problem for her. “Of course. And yes, that should be plenty of time.”
“Wonderful. Just let me know how much I owe you and then I can leave you to your creativity” Alucard smiled at her, it was obvious from her stall that she was very talented and her work was a very high standard. He couldn’t wait to see Integra’s face when he gave her the gift.
Smiling with a nod, Annie gave him the initial price, as well as a receipt with the breakdown. After all, there was also the work going into it. But it was the breakdown of materials and then the hour breakdown as she wasn’t certain how long it would take on that aspect. “I hope that is alright?”
“Absolutely fine” Alucard said, handing over what Annie had written down as well as a bit extra, “Just in case costs go up or anything. Once it’s completed you can update the time taken too” Because there was bound to be more hours going into it once she began. Money was no issue especially when it was for such a unique item.
