Oh my god, I’ve been such an insecure bitch.
Who: Bo and Lara
What: Bo's gotten very weak, Bo and Lara finally have a talk. Then succubus healing times!
When: recently, following all that kitsune nonsense
Where: Croft Manor
Status: complete
Rating: High
Kenzi’s words had gotten under Lara’s skin. She hated to admit it but the seeds of doubt had been sown, and Bo’s actions lately had only reinforced that doubt who was that man. And it really wasn’t fair, but Lara wasn’t thinking too clearly. Her own cracks had widened, and she didn’t know if she’d ever be enough for Bo.
The anxiety was eating her up, and while normally she’d be inclined to try to talk about it, she hadn’t really had the chance to. Bo had kept to herself lately, and Lara felt like she was pulling away. It was breaking her heart.
The sound of something shattering snapped her head up from the book she wasn’t actually managing to read.
Bo’s mind was also working against her. What Kenzi had said to her had also gotten under her skin, and the weaker she got, the more she felt like she was a burden. And the weaker she got, the less able she was to actually do anything. She’d stopped trying to climb the stairs because those were far too hard for her. Lately, she had more or less been sleeping wherever she fell, which sometimes was the floor.
Despite wanting to try to talk to Lara, she didn’t quite have the energy to get herself up. But this time, she’d pushed herself because she knew if they didn’t talk, then Lara would probably be finding her body.
However, she didn’t get overly far. Bo had been leaning heavily against the wall in the hallway when she’d fallen and knocked over one of Lara’s antiques. Her forearm came down and one of the shards cut into it.
“Oh shit,” she cursed. She tried to get up, but with the injured arm and her weakened state, all Bo managed to do was fall again, landing almost face first on the shards. “Fuck me,” she cursed and then just laid there. She couldn’t get up, and she needed to figure out what she was going to do. “Lara, are you there?” She called weakly, hoping that Lara was somewhere nearby because otherwise she’d just be laying there until either Lara or Alistair happened by her.
“What’s going on?” Like a bear emerging from hibernation, Lara left the safety of her study. She had a good sense of sound and direction so she found Bo quickly. “Bo?? What’s wrong, are you hurt?” She knelt next to her, sweeping aside some of the broken shards with her shoe. “Oh my god.”
Bo looked horrible, and it wasn’t just the landing on a bunch of broken glass. Lara felt suddenly sick.
Relief washed over her when she heard Lara’s voice. At least she hadn’t gone out, otherwise who knew when Bo would’ve been able to get up. And there was blood as well. Not a ton, but enough to know the wound on her arm needed to be dealt with sooner rather than later. Bo tried to roll over onto her side, but it was intensely difficult. In fact, her breathing was very labored, probably on par with someone who smoked several packs a day.
“I can’t get up, and I think I broke one of your priceless antiques.” Because she was more worried about that than she was that a piece of it was stuck in her arm or the fact that she was starving. If anyone wanted to know what a starving succubus looked like, this was it, and it wasn’t pretty by any stretch of the imagination.
“It’s just a thing, and it wasn’t that priceless.” It probably cost more than Bo made in a year though, but Lara knew her fiance well enough not to say that out loud. She lifted Bo’s arm to inspect the cut there. “Shit…” If she removed that, Bo could possibly bleed out. But the breathing and her pallor were almost as alarming. “Bo, what’s wrong with you?”
Bo still felt terrible about having broken it, and she knew it was still expensive. Or was expensive, really. She looked at Lara. “I haven’t fed since the last time we were together.” She really had been lucky she’d even gotten to her feet before she’d fallen here. It was about then that the pain in her started registering. “Shit, that’s starting to hurt.”
Lara blinked, the implications of that sinking in. “... Oh my god, I’ve been such an insecure bitch.” She got up, pulling Bo with her and then lifting her into her arms like she was a distressingly light sack of grain. Why hadn’t she seen it? She should have seen it, she should have trusted Bo.
For most people in this state, weight loss would’ve been part of the package, but Bo hadn’t lost any weight. Sure the past couple days she hadn’t eaten as much, but that was more due to the fact she didn’t have the energy to get up and get food. Which was why she’d basically transferred a stash of junk food to where she’d been spending her time so she could easily reach it when she got hungry. She hadn’t expected to be picked up, but she didn’t fight it. Instead, she just let Lara do what she wanted with her.
“What do you mean?” She cradled her injured arm, turning it so the shard wouldn’t get pushed in further on accident. The pain was starting to radiate up her arm. That definitely wasn’t a good sign.
“Kenzi said some things….it doesn’t matter.” Lara shook her head, carefully carrying Bo into the downstairs bathroom. “I’ve been afraid I wasn’t enough for you, and here you are starving yourself.” She set her down in the tub, grabbing a towel and the first aide kit.
“It does matter. What did she say?” She wanted to know so she could better understand where Lara was. And it also made her wonder about Kenzi and what had gotten into her if she said things that got into Lara’s head as well as Bo’s. “Is that what’s been bothering you? That you weren’t enough for me?”
Lara frowned, nodding her head. “She said you’d eventually stray. I told her that was nonsense but I guess. It kind of stuck in the back of my head, and then you started acting...different.”
Bo also frowned a bit before she grimaced from the pain in her arm. “I’m sorry. I should’ve kept asking what was wrong, but I didn’t. I noticed how stiff you started when I’d try to kiss you, so I backed off, hoping that you’d come to tell me what was wrong without my having to drag it out of you.” There were other things that had kept Bo from continuing to ask Lara, but she wasn’t going to distract from getting Lara to talk about what was bothering her.
“I should have… trusted you more.” Lara rested her head on her own arm for a moment. She felt awful. Like she’d broken her word, even even it might have just been her word to herself. Lara put a hand on the side of Bo’s face. “I just...keep worrying that my libido can’t match yours.”
She leaned into the touch, almost sighing in relief at feeling Lara’s touch again. “You don’t need to worry about that. I will never push you into it when you aren’t in the mood. You don’t need to match my libido. I really don’t think anyone other than another succubus or an incubus or something like that even could. But I respect you, and won’t push it unless I really need it.” Like she did currently for multiple reasons, but she wasn’t even going to push right now.
“I don’t mind,” Lara said. Bo often had a way of flicking her on switch even when she thought it couldn’t be moved. But there’d been something else that had been bothering her. She took a breath and suddenly removed the shard, wrapping Bo’s arm in the towel and compressing it. “What Kenzi said. Made me think about our sex life. And wonder how much was me and how much is your powers. Which is stupid but I couldn’t shut the thought down once I’d had it.”
Bo had a response to the first part of what Lara said, but then the shard was pulled out and she cried out in pain a bit. She hissed a bit as Lara compressed the wound. The jolt made her see stars float across her vision for a moment, so she closed her eyes and tried to breathe slowly so she wouldn’t lose consciousness as she was listening to Lara. Once she was certain she wouldn’t actually pass out, she opened her eyes and looked at Lara. “I think you have a large part of it. We did have sex before I ever got my powers here. My powers probably just amp up what’s naturally there for you.”
“I know that, intellectually. But emotions can be really fucking annoying.” Lara grabbed another towel. The wound wasn’t clotting very well and she was really starting to worry that it wasn’t going to at all. “No one has ever made me feel the way you do.”
“I’ll take that as compliment,” she quipped about the last comment. “But I totally understand. Emotions are weird and complicated in ways that are difficult to understand.” And great, the light-headedness was coming back and Bo wasn’t certain if it was because of her weakened state or the wound that wasn’t clotting like it should. Or maybe it was both. “Shit,” she muttered as she closed her eyes again, trying to keep herself from passing out.
“Bo?” Lara rapped her cheek lightly. “Look at me. You need to take a hit, you’re losing a lot of blood.” Bo really wasn’t looking that good, and Lara was once again reminded that she’d willingly give all her chi to Bo if it would save her.
She shook her head slightly and looked at Lara. She was definitely getting paler now from the blood loss, and she was feeling even weaker than she had earlier. But she fought against the dizziness and tried to focus as best as she could. “I think you’ll need to come to me, or meet me somewhere in between.” She started to lean towards Lara. However, there was a deeper problem at play. As much as Bo needed the chi, she wasn’t feeling the urge to take it. In fact, it felt like her libido had been taken away entirely in the course of the last week and a half or so. But even as she tried to kiss Lara, there was nothing firing with her, no rise of power, no hunger for chi, nothing. She was starving, but she no longer seemed to have a trigger to pull so she could take a hit from Lara.
As it was, whenever her lips came close to Lara’s, her head turned to the side and she fell back against the bathtub. “I can’t,” she said in a slight whine. She was still learning about her physiology in her dreams, so she had no idea what was going on here. She kind of wished Trick was here. He’d know what was wrong and what she should do. Though what she really needed to do was talk about what was bothering her.
“Bo?” Lara leaned in, kissing her cheek and trying to catch her lips with her own. But something felt wrong, and she couldn’t place it. There wasn’t that familiar buzz, the icy taste that usually accompanied such a kiss. Genuine fear crept into her voice. “Bo, you need energy..!”
Bo felt wrong, but she didn’t know what to do about it. “I know, but I don’t feel my power. It’s like it’s just gone or blocked or something.” And this was probably one of the worst times for her powers to fizzle out. She was essentially human currently without her powers working.
“If you can’t take energy you’re going to need to go to the hospital.” Lara tried to think what to do. She couldn’t very well force herself on Bo, and that might not work anyway. “Has this ever happened in your dreams? Where you were having Succubus Impotency?”
“No, nothing like this has happened in my dreams.” And speaking of dreams, she’d had more of those as well, and she now knew why Ryan was a giant douchenozzle and suddenly the Ash was actually a nice guy? But none of that mattered right now. “I’ve only felt this for the past couple days, I think? I mean, I had one bout over the weekend where I had an urge to chi suck everyone at work, but that was the last time I felt it?”
Lara wondered if there might be something to that. “Maybe that’s related. You always get guilty when you feel like you’re going to stray.” Which really should have been a clue on her part. “I’m so sorry, Bo. I’ve been a terrible fiance.”
She didn’t know if it was due to Lara’s line of questioning, or if it was due to the light headedness, but Bo just started talking without the filter on. “Maybe? I mean, I was already feeling bad because of something Kenzi said to me. So maybe it just compounded?” The last few days kind of all blended together for her.
Lara narrowed her eyes. Kenzi suddenly seemed like the common link in this situation, though clearly there’d already been issues brewing. “What did she tell you?”
Bo shook her head slightly to keep herself in the moment as much as possible. “She said that you were worried about me going all Super Succubus, and when I asked why you were worried about that now in particular she said it was because you were marrying me and thus would have to deal with me for the rest of your life. Which just made me feel like a burden because I know I have a high sex drive and need chi and I’m just generally high maintenance and I sometimes wonder if it’ll be too much for you down the road.” There was emotion in her voice, pain over the fact she knew that she was a lot to handle. “I couldn’t help but to wonder if you were rethinking the engagement.”
Now, if Bo was in her right mind, she’d realize that none of this sounded like Kenzi. Kenzi was never malicious like this. She’d never sabotaged her and Lauren for whatever their brief flings had been. So this? Was definitely out of character. But at the current moment, she had many other pressing issues that needed to be resolved before she could think clearly.
“You’re not a burden, Bo! You never were, and you never will be.” She cupped Bo’s face. “If you could walk I’d elope with you right now. That’s how much I want to marry you. I love you, and nothing you do will change that. Even if I might be a little dense when it comes to relationships.”
Looking at Lara, she had tears in her eyes and she sniffed, letting out a soft sob. She was more than a little emotional at the moment. And then it happened. She felt something that she could only describe as a switch being flipped within her. The rise of power came at her all at once, and her eyes turned blue. The hunger came, and it was entirely overwhelming in her current state. Acting on the surge she got from her powers rushing back, she leaned in and kissed Lara suddenly. It was a hungry, primal kiss that was broken as she took some chi from her.
The wound on her arm finally clotted and healed altogether, and the dizziness subsided enough that rational thought came back to her. She stopped herself from feeding, having only taken enough to heal the wound and blood loss. She was still hungry, but she didn’t want to take everything right this second. Plus she really didn’t want to run the risk of killing Lara. “I love you, and I’m sorry I didn’t try harder to get you to talk earlier. I would rather starve myself than hurt you by sleeping with someone else.” Which she’d just proved to an extent that was entirely unnecessary.
The energy exchange came as an electric shock to Lara. She leaned in, eager to give Bo more, the kiss primal and desperate and if Bo hadn’t stopped she would have let her keep going. As it was she made a confused, forlorn sound. Breathless, she whispered. “I should have trusted you more. I love you too. We really need to work on our communication skills.” She slid her hand behind Bo’s neck. “Take more…I’m so sorry, I can’t stand to see you like this, and it’s all my fault.”
“We really do need to work on our communication skills.” She slid a hand to Lara’s cheek, leaning in and kissing her again, taking another hit of chi. But she was keeping herself in check, though it was difficult to do when her instincts told her to drain Lara dry. “It’s my fault, too. I should have come to talk to you before getting this bad. I was intent on doing that the other day when my boss brought me home, but I was so spent of energy from work that I barely made it to the couch so I could nap.”
“I thought… you and him…” Lara smiled weakly. “I had a good sulk about it.” She stroked Bo’s hair, then checked her arm. The cut there was doing much better and she felt like the immediate emergency had passed. Perhaps some day she could find some artifact that would let Bo feed on her without weakening her. “He’s quite a specimen, if you like that sort of thing.”
“You thought I was sleeping with him?” It was said with some surprise, not anger. If she was single? Yeah she’d probably give Logan a test drive. He was scruffy in the same kind of way that Dyson was. Not to mention he had that somewhat feral edge to him that Dyson did. She set a hand on Lara’s cheek. “If you ever get those thoughts again, remember this.” She obviously meant the having starved herself thing. “I can’t say that I won’t ever be tempted because of what I am, but I will say that I will never go behind your back. Ever. Even if I’m dying and you aren’t there, I’d rather die than hurt you like that.”
“I’d rather you be alive,” Lara said, voice catching. “If you’re dying, and I’m not there, I wouldn’t be mad. I’d be relieved.” It would be something casual, Bo actually straying, that would hurt, and hurt deeply. She smiled through sudden tears. “I like having you around, you know.”
Bo looked Lara in the eye. Oh it hurt, and she well knew Lara liked having her around, but she still couldn’t see herself using anyone else to heal. At least not in the present moment. But if she was actually injured and dying and someone other than Lara was there and willing? Then she might. “Are you sure? Not that I plan on trying to die, but probably best to have the bases covered considering how this place goes.” And her dreams, but they definitely needed to talk about things like that. The ‘what if’ situations where Bo needed chi or healing and Lara wasn’t around.
And that was a talk they probably should have had a while ago. More reason why they needed to work on their communication skills.
They really had the worse timing, didn’t they? And usually they were pretty good at talking. Or maybe Lara had just assumed they were since things usually went really smoothly before this. She pressed her lips to Bo’s forehead. “You have my permission to do what you need to to not die, and I’ll trust you to only do so if you have no other choice, okay?”
In all honesty, Bo’s need for chi had never been an issue to this extent before. They’d always taken care of it between the two of them. But perhaps in a terrible way, this worked out for the better. It showed both of them what could happen when Bo didn’t get the chi she needed, and it did open up this line of conversation. Even if they should have thought about it sooner. Maybe having done that would have cut down on Lara’s worry of not being enough or suspecting Bo was sleeping with someone else.
“Okay. And I’ll remember that you don’t take me and my powers as being a burden. Even if I sometimes do.” Bo didn’t like that her nature had to dictate the way she went about having a relationship, but she couldn’t change her genetics, no matter how much she wanted to.
Lara wasn’t worried about being enough now, that was for sure. She just felt incredibly guilty. And shitty. And extra double shitty. “You’re not a burden.” She leaned in and kissed her hard, as much out of a sudden swell of emotion as out of a desire to see Bo feeling better.
Bo returned the kiss just as hard, also feeling that swell of emotion. She slid her arms around Lara’s neck, managing to sit up a bit straighter under her own power. She was still weak, but she had a little more energy now after the two hits she’d taken from Lara. However, this particular situation of needing to refuel was one she was going to take slow because she wanted Lara to be conscious for the entire thing. And it was part of mending things between them. She didn’t take a hit just yet, she just wanted to revel in the feel of Lara’s lips against her own.
Whimpering a little, Lara deepened the kiss, fueled suddenly by a different need. A need to make amends, a need to heal a rift before it got too wide. Bo was so special and she deserved so much more than she’d gotten recently.
She groaned softly, returning the deeper kiss. It was like hitting her on switch repeatedly, but she was still holding back on taking another hit of chi. At least she had easier control over that now, even when starving. After some moments, she broke the kiss only enough that her lips brushed against Lara’s. “I think we should go somewhere more comfortable.” If she wasn’t starving and wanting to drown herself in Lara, she’d also suggest cleaning up the mess she’d made so Alistair didn’t stumble across it and wonder what had happened. But she had other things on her mind right then. “But I think you’ll have to carry me. Just to be safe.”
Lara had the sense to wash her hands before picking Bo up again, but she was very quick about it. “Honestly I’m not going to let you walk anywhere for a week.” She could worry about the bloody towel later. Right now she wanted to get Bo upstairs. Once safely in their room, she laid Bo gently on the bed. “I’m still so sorry.”
“Then it’s a good thing you’re strong to carry me around.” Bo teased lightly, threading her arms around Lara’s neck. She’d send Logan a message later regarding the ETA of when she’d be back to work. Once on the bed, she gazed up at Lara. “I forgive you.” It did hurt a bit that Lara hadn’t trusted her enough, but she could understand it considering she was a succubus.
“Are you sure?” Lara unbuttoned her shirt, looking down at Bo with concern in her eyes. A part of her wondered at the Logan thing and she had a suddenly unexpected and naughty idea.
Bo pushed herself up, first to an elbow, then into an upright position. “Yes, I’m sure. It does hurt that you didn’t trust me enough, but I can’t exactly blame you when I am a succubus. It isn’t exactly the poster child for monogamy. But I am yours, and only yours. I love you, Lara.”
Shrugging her shirt off, Lara gave Bo a tense smile. “I love you. I’ll accept any blame you want to give. But I really want to…” she waved a hand in the general area of her crotch. “So you don’t, uhm. Crave a man.”
She didn’t know exactly what she was trying to think of, but the Logan thing really did bother her a little.
Her gaze lowered over Lara’s newly exposed skin, then she lifted it back to Lara’s face. She felt her sex drive come roaring into life even more than she had before. Her gaze then followed where Lara gestured towards. “You mean use a strap-on? Or a dildo?” Though with that comment, she could tell the Logan thing was bothering her. “The only person I crave is right here with me. But if you have worries about Logan, my boss, don’t. He’s more like a mother hen than anything else.” Considering how he’d totally mothered her when she’d fallen at work and all.
“Yes, that,” Lara said, her voice thick with her own growing drive. She had a vivid image of Bo beneath her, a claiming as much as anything else and it wasn’t helping. She shook her head to clear it. “But that’s good to hear.” She resolved to be open if she ever had insecurities like that again. She unhooked her jeans and crawled onto the bed. She wanted to give her a little dance but time was of the essence. Even if they spent all day being lazy and slow. She tugged Bo’s pants off and then leaned over her. “We’ll have to take it nice and slow.”
“I’m game for that,” she said, encouraging Lara. Bo figured it was probably something Lara had never really used before, considering how she’d referenced it. But she was never one to push Lara into doing things she wasn’t comfortable with. As Lara leaned over her, Bo wrapped her arms around her and pulled her close, kissing her deeply for some moments. “Mm my thoughts exactly,” she murmured with a smile before she kissed Lara again.
She could get comfortable with it. She was naturally adventurous but kind of naive when it came to sex things, even after all her time with Bo. “I need more research and education,” she joked, just before their lips met. Lara melted into the kiss, holding Bo’s head in her hands and trying to be very gentle with her very weak succubus.
Just the thought of Lara using a strap-on on her turned her on even more. One hand slid along Lara’s back, fingers caressing the skin lovingly and reverently, almost the way she had the first time they’d been together. She added more feeling into the kiss, relishing the feel of her fiancé in her arms. After a minute, the kiss turned into a chi-suck, Bo taking another hit of it. She could feel the energy starting to rebuild within her, life and vigor returning to her body bit by bit. She was still depleted, but the energy of their sex would help make up for the loss. “I love it when you get all researchy,” she teased after taking the hit.
The combined hit of Bo’s fingers and the chi-hit made Lara shiver and groan. There was a certain level where it went from pleasurable to painful, but a little bit at a time meant it wouldn’t cross that threshold. If Lara was honest with herself, the first few seconds of the pain was actually enjoyable. She just didn’t know why. “I have to make sure… I do it right.”
This was going to be all about pleasure and taking things slow, including re-engerizing herself. Taking a little chi here and there would be best so that they could both enjoy this. Bo smiled and nipped at Lara’s lips, her eyes remaining blue for some moments before shifting back to brown. “I believe you will.” She trailed her hands up Lara’s sides.
Lara shivered again, leaning her head down and kissing Bo’s throat. She hesitated for a long moment, hands on Bo’s hips and lips against her skin. “...feels a bit new again.”
Closing her eyes, she tilted her head back, exposing more of her throat to Lara. She shivered at the feel of her lips against her skin, one hand moving up to the back of Lara’s head. “It does.” New and familiar. Reconnecting on this level.
“I love you.” Lara’s lips moved over Bo’s throat as she spoke. She kissed lightly again, and then in another spot and then another until she nipped her teeth at Bo’s collarbone. She lid a hand up and caressed her palm over Bo’s left breast. She was going to make up for it. For everything.
“And I love you.” Her body started to come alive, humming under Lara’s touch. She groaned, arching into Lara’s touch. She tangled her fingers into Lara’s hair, her other hand still caressing every part of Lara’s back that she could reach. Each scar got a loving caress.
“Oh…” That was one of the most intimate things Bo could do to her, and a soft needy moan rumbled from her lips to Bo’s skin. She blinked away tears, lifting her eyes to look at Bo’s face as she touched and caressed at her.
She loved caressing and kissing Lara’s scars when she had the chance. She loved taking her time with her lover in the same way Lara was taking her time with her right now. She hummed her appreciation, a pleased expression on her face as she arched into Lara’s touch. Lara was leaving a trail of fire across Bo’s skin in her wake.
Lara lifted her head, offering Bo more chi as she palmed her lover’s breasts. Slowly, and gently, she continued to explore Bo’s body, reaffirming her love for her and her commitment to her. Her lips reached Bo’s belly button and she blew on her stomach before giving her a surprise raspberry.
She took the hit of chi, loving the way Lara was touching her. It was as though Lara was touching her very soul, and it sent a shiver through her. Another shiver came when Lara blew on her stomach, which was then followed by a peal of laughter at the raspberry. “Lara!” She almost squeaked it out between laughter. She writhed under her lover.
Lara’s lips spread into a grin and she flicked her tongue at Bo’s navel. This was the way it was supposed to be. None of that distance, none of that ill feeling that stewed like an infection. Bo was starting to look less pale, so she reached up and took one of Bo’s hands in her own, threading their fingers together tightly. Linked, like a celtic knot never ending. Bo was still pale enough that light nips were leaving marks, and Lara glanced up at her worriedly.
Bo definitely agreed that this was the way it was supposed to be. She loved the closeness, the vitality, the contact she was having with Lara. Her heart beat faster, and she held onto Lara’s hand tightly. She may still be pale, but she was doing a bit better. A bit of her hunger had been satisfied. But she was thoroughly enjoying herself, and as she locked eyes with Lara, she gave her a smile. She also parted her legs for Lara, an intense wave of desire hitting her in anticipation of where Lara’s mouth was heading.
Training her other hand along the tendon between Bo’s thigh and pelvis, she smirked as Bo gave her a hint. Her eyes flicked up again, as if to tease her about ‘who said anything about me going there?’ She followed up with a wink and lowered her head, kissing Bo’s hip, then her other thigh and biting down lightly. Lara was dizzy from Bo’s scent. “God I love this…”
Oh god, and then there was teasing. She moaned, her hips rolling in response to Lara. Her body was humming, and she was feeding off of the sexual energy being generated between them. She let out a louder moan at feeling the bite, another jolt of arousal surging through her. More life was coming back to her, and she loved every moment of it. “Oh, fuck me,” she groaned out. It wasn’t quite a plea, but it was probably close enough. But regardless she was enjoying herself immensely.
She wasn’t going to give into Bo’s demands that easily. Lara owed it to her to draw this out. She could feel the energy in the air, making the hair on her arms and neck stand up a little. Bo was drawing from their love making and it was really the first time Lara had noticed that. They were usually so heated with each other that she was too exhausted or horny to tell the difference. Grinning, she stroked her fingers up and down between Bo’s legs, rubbing them in circles with just the barest trace of contact. “You’re looking better.”
Bo hadn’t really noticed it before either. She’d always been more focused on chi sucking and being lost in Lara and the moment than she had the rest of it. But this time, it was easy to tell that she fed off of sex itself, and not just chi. She was certain if this was dragged out enough that she’d be more back to herself. Though she had a feeling it would probably take another sex session or two before she was back to full strength, possibly more depending on how many rounds they managed to last before they both needed to rest. Another shiver ran through her from the barest contact, and she half-moaned, half-whimpered. “I’m feeling better,” she managed to say.
“Mm.” Lara finally shifted her hand, rubbing her thumb with increasing speed over Bo’s clit. The change was sudden and quick, and she slipped a finger in just a moment later. Lara tried to hold eye contact the whole time, her gaze intense, loving.
The change took Bo by surprise, one that was met with a loud moan and her hips rolled against Lara. She was driving her crazy, and Bo was loving every second of it. She brushed the fingers of one hand through Lara’s hair. She gazed down at Lara, eyes shifting to the intense blue.
“Good…” Lara’s voice was ragged already, and she kept eye contact as she lowered her face and settled between Bo’s legs. Tongue replaced thumb, one hand remaining tight in Bo’s and the other vigorously making come hither motions inside of Bo. She moaned, adding humming to what she was doing and squirming her legs and hips on the bed as she got increasingly turned on.
This time her eyes stayed blue. When Lara’s tongue replaced her thumb, Bo tilted her head back and another loud moan came out of her, hips rolling again. She squeezed Lara’s hand tighter, while she tangled the fingers of her other hand into Lara’s hair, pulling her head closer to her. “Oh, fuck,” she groaned out. Her body writhed a bit more at all the sensations Lara was giving her.
As much as Bo fed off of Lara, there were times where she felt energized. Bo’s arousal and actions and the way her body moved and shook as Lara drew out the pleasure made Lara lose herself in the moment. When they were into it like this, Lara thought she could do this forever. And she was trying to, bringing Bo to the edge and then backing down again and again.
Bo loved the things Lara did to her, especially the way she used her tongue on her. She moaned out Lara’s name, back arching off the bed, hips rocking against Lara. The way that Lara drove her to the edge and backing down nearly drove her crazy, but in a good way. It only made her noise level grow more and more, and she wasn’t quiet to begin with.
A sound that Lara hadn’t realized how much she’d missed. Both of her hands were otherwise occupied so she could only continue to writhe as she worked at Bo. Unable to contain herself any longer she gave up on the teasing and applied herself with the kind of fervent passion that only Bo ever had the pleasure of experiencing.
As Lara applied herself with that passion, it set Bo off even more. There was a string of curses punctuated by loud moans, her fingers twisting in Lara’s hair and she held her head close. Her legs shifted, one knee bending and moving to the side, giving Lara more room to work. But Bo was loving this, and the sexual energy in the air was almost making her drunk. She’d missed Lara’s touch so much.
Lara’s stamina was second to none, but even that had it’s limits. She removed her hand so she could push Bo’s legs apart farther and focused all her energy on what she was doing with her mouth. Such as doing tongue exercises for particularly difficult languages.
Bo couldn’t stay still. She squirmed a bit more, her orgasm building quickly from all the sensations hitting her. But every moment gave her more sexual energy to feed from, and she was getting stronger again. But she was far from her norm yet. Though she at least was out of the danger zone that she had been in. Currently her head was spinning, but this time it wasn’t from dizziness, it was from pleasure. Her noises came louder and stronger, and she was getting close to that edge. “Just a...little more…” She urged, her voice thick and heavy with desire and passion.
“Fuck…!” Lara finally let go of Bo’s hand, grabbing for a breast and pulling Bo’s leg up over her shoulder as she found a better angle. Bo’s voice sent a shock running down her spine to her stomach via her toes and she moaned loudly enough to be heard even though she was muffled.
The different angle did her in. Bo’s back arched off the bed and she let out a very loud cry as her orgasm washed over her. Her free hand grabbed a handful of sheets and tugged on them as she rode her orgasm. “Lara...oh fuck…!” She groaned out breathlessly. Her eyes were still blue.
Lara probably lost some hair there, but small sacrifice. She pushed herself up, licking her lips as if she was positively smug in her actions. She slid along Bo’s body and gave her a deep kiss, blue eyes or no blue eyes.
She was breathing heavily as Lara slid up her body. She returned the deep kiss, letting go of the sheets and wrapping that arm around Lara, pulling her tight against her. Her other hand was still tangled in Lara’s hair, holding her head close. Bo’s body was buzzing, and the sexual energy around them was almost crackling. It was almost as delicious as Lara herself. She took another little hit of chi after several moments. With the energy she’d gotten thus far, Bo felt strong enough to take the upper hand. Which after taking the hit, is precisely what she did. Keeping hold of Lara, she rolled them over so Lara was beneath her, and she kissed her deeply again.
Lara didn’t have the energy or desire to fight Bo on this. It really felt like lightning was around them, her skin was on fire and there was a coiled ball of energy in her center that was driving her mad. She moaned Bo’s name into her mouth and dug her nails into her shoulders.
Don’t tell anyone, but Lara really liked it when Bo did that.
Bo felt more alive in this moment than she had in a week, and it wasn’t just because of the chi or the sexual energy she’d absorbed. It was because she was with Lara, and feeling her touch again. Lara was, to make a cliché, the breath of life to Bo. Even without the literal meaning of it with the chi-sucking ability. She groaned at the feel of Lara’s nails. She kissed her for some more moments before she broke it and trailed her lips along her jaw and down to her neck. Bo detangled one hand from Lara’s hair and slid it down over her shoulder to cup one of her breasts. She could sense Lara needed release, and she was going to give it to her, but not before she reacquainted herself with her fiancé’s body.
“I love you,” she murmured as she placed a kiss to Lara’s neck, then went about leaving a hickie there.
It was the kind of cliche Lara could live with. One she was more than happy to! She writhed under Bo, kissing her deeply, raking her fingers down Bo’s back and making a needful, encouraging sound. “I love you, oh god.” Bo could do whatever she wanted to right now and Lara wouldn’t object. And she said as much, too.
She groaned, her other hand sliding up to palm Lara’s other breast. Once the hickie was finished, Bo trailed her mouth over Lara’s collarbone, tongue flicking out against skin here and there. She caressed Lara’s breasts as her mouth began to seek out the scars, placing loving and tender kisses to each of them on her way down.
Lara’s scars were always sensitive, and they were extra sensitive tonight. Bo’s tongue made her skin light up wherever it met her skin and shivers ran through her from her scars. “Bo…” She moved a hand to Bo’s shoulder, then to her hair and tangled her fingers in it.
While Bo always liked to take time to caress and kiss Lara’s scars, there was a lot more emotion and meaning behind it tonight. Making up always came with heightened emotions, and not for the first time did Bo realize just how much she loved Lara, but it seemed even more powerful tonight. She loved this woman, and the sheer weight of it brought some tears to her eyes. At hearing her name, she lifted her blue-eyed gaze to watch Lara, groaning against her skin as she kissed her way down to her stomach, giving the rebar scar an extra kiss. Her hands began to slide down Lara’s body, caressing the skin passionately.
“I love you…!” Lara arced into Bo’s hands, the words halfway between a whine and a plea. Tears pricked at her eyes, not for the first time that night, but she realized how close she’d come to losing Bo. Either to starvation or just miscommunication. Possibly both. Her skin glistened from the exertion and she undulated her hips when Bo’s hands started in that direction. She looked down at her lover, eyes lidded and mouth open and panting. “God, I love you.”
The energy they were both generating was rejuvenating her. She was off of death’s doorstep now, her color having returned, and she could feel her strength returning bit by bit. She smiled against Lara’s skin, eyes still blue as she gazed up at her lover as her hands slid down to Lara’s hips and rested there. “I love you.” Then she wanted to do something a little different. The way Lara’s skin was glistening was more than inviting. Bo leaned in and slid her tongue from one hip across Lara’s abdomen to the other, intrigued to see how she reacted. And she liked that salty taste from the sweat. Bo’s own skin was also glistening from the exertion.
Lara’s hips lifted off from the bed and she made a strangled, desperate sound from deep in her throat. It was enough to drive her crazy, she wanted more, she was all but ready to beg for more and the way she said Bo’s name, followed by the word ‘please’ was the closest to begging she could get. Lara thought she was going to die if Bo didn’t do more.
She couldn’t help the smile that stretched across her face as she heard the near-begging. Bo was more than content to put Lara out of her misery, knowing full well there was plenty of time to tease her more later. With that, she slid down between Lara’s legs and immediately put her tongue to work on Lara’s clit, and she added her fingers, slipping two of them inside of Lara. Her other hand slid back up Lara’s body to caress her breast.
A long, shuddery moan was ripped from Lara’s throat and she bucked her hips hard against Bo’s face. She was so far gone that it didn’t matter how undignified or wanton she was, she needed Bo and she needed release and she needed release from Bo.
She groaned against Lara, the vibrations going straight to her clit. Bo moved her tongue in completely illicit ways, her fingers hooking inside Lara as they slid in. She gave her all to Lara, her scent filling her nostrils as she wanted to drive her fiancé over the edge.
“Fuck!” Lara wasn’t a religious person but she was calling for God just then. She was already so close from what she’d done to Bo earlier that it wouldn’t take much to set her off. Lara was almost wild with need, rocking and rolling her hips and leaving deep marks in Bo’s shoulders from her nails. She moaned again as she got closer.
Bo groaned at feeling the marks in her shoulders, and it only spurred her on. Lara may be calling for God, but what Bo was doing with her tongue was downright sinful. She knew exactly what spots to hit on Lara to set her off and give her more pleasure and she ensured to hit them all, both with her tongue and her fingers. Her other hand was still caressing one of Lara’s breasts. The way Lara was reacting was setting her off again, and her sex drive was trying to take control of her, but she was holding it in check. She wanted to refuel in small doses, not one large one that would probably kill Lara.
This kind of sin was something Lara could live with, enthusiastically. Bo’s tongue was sinful heaven and her hand on her breasts continued to set her skin alight. She came suddenly and energetically, screaming out Bo’s name when that orgasm rolled into a second one almost immediately. She didn’t know if she wanted Bo to stop or keep going and her head spun. Lara started laughing giddily, the sound broken by repeated moans.
The double orgasm caught Bo by surprise. She wasn’t certain whether Lara wanted her to stop or not, so instead of stopping completely, she slowed her movements down, licking in long swipes and her fingers moving slower as Lara rode out her orgasms. But after some moments, Bo decided to stop, needing a bit of a breather. She may be stronger now than she had been, but she was still weak and shouldn’t push herself in exerting the energy that she was absorbing. Slipping her fingers out of Lara, she kissed her way up Lara’s body before she kissed her deeply, and it was an emotion-fuelled kiss.
Moaning Bo’s name, Lara wrapped her arms around her and kissed her back. She also hooked a leg around Bo’s, trying to tangle them up together to ensure no escape. She had to make sure that she and Bo were as close together as humanly possible, without getting into each others’ skins. “I love you.”
Bo was a fan of tangling herself with Lara. She shifted onto her side, pulling Lara with her. “I love you.” She wrapped one arm snugly around Lara’s back, and she brushed her other hand through her hair. Bo’s eyes were back to their normal brown now. “I should have come and talked to you way earlier.”
Lara smiled, pressing her face into the crook of Bo’s neck. She had her eyes closed, and her fingers dancing on Bo’s skin in lazy, protective patterns. “I should have trusted you more. Trusted in us more. You didn’t deserve…”
She gently stroked Lara’s hair, closing her eyes as she just held her close. She liked the patterns Lara was drawing on her skin. “Both of us made mistakes, but we can make it better. Perhaps we should’ve talked about some things a long time ago, but at least we’ve come to that point now. I love you, and I’m not going anywhere.”
“Good. I’m not going anywhere either.” Lara’s words were punctuated by a long yawn. “And we should promise to be more open…”
“Yes, we should.” She nuzzled her cheek against Lara’s hair gently. Bo was silent for a few moments, just enjoying holding Lara close to her. And she really started to think she should tell Lara about why Logan had brought her home. “When you saw Logan bring me home the other day, he did that because I’d fallen at work. He went all mother-hen and wouldn’t let me drive as he wanted to make sure I got home safely.” And Bo then remembered her car was still parked at the bar.
“You...what?” Lara lifted her head, trying to look into Bo’s face. “You fell? Oh god, what if you were hurt badly?” There was little she could do now except feel guilty, and cross with herself. Like this was somehow her fault. And it was partly her fault.
Opening her eyes, she looked back at Lara. “At that point I could still chi suck. I...almost lost it, actually. I had this really strong urge to chi suck the entire bar dry right before it happened. But Logan was right there, he would’ve gotten me either to the hospital or back home if I’d gotten hurt.” She gently caressed Lara’s cheek with her fingertips. “My pride took a serious blow when I fell in front of Logan. But I’m okay.”
“He’s a good man, and I’m foolish.” Lara put her hand over Bo’s and squeezed it tightly. She kissed each finger tip in turn before saying anything else. “I’m glad you’re okay. I really don’t know what I’d have done if something worse had happened.” All of this was bad enough, and she’d spend the next ten years kicking herself over it probably.
“He is.” Bo was just lucky that Logan had been there that day. If he hadn’t been, she would’ve continued working, and it probably would’ve ended with a bar full of dead people. “I am lucky that I didn’t start taking chi from the customers there. I really don’t want to kill anyone because of what I am. I’ve seen the toll it takes on my dream self, all the innocent people she’s killed over the years. I don’t want to know what it’s like to have taken a life like that.” Especially not Lara’s.
If Lara had the energy, she would have propped herself up, or something like that to try to add gravitas to her words. Instead she pulled Bo closer, brushing her hands over her hair. “We won’t let you ever get that close again, I promise.”
She just hoped Bo never lost her sense of self.
She gazed into Lara’s eyes, snuggling into her tighter. “Thank you. I don’t want to become a problem or a danger to others.” Bo didn’t break eye contact as her fingers traced along Lara’s back lightly. “I know you’ve said you don’t mind and I can take what chi I need, but I ever take more than you can stand, please tell me and stop me. Neither one of us should be in a depleted state.” If for nothing else but the fact that shit tended to go crazy in Orange County.
“All right. Maybe we need a safe word.” From anyone else in any other circumstances, that was a sentence that could mean something entirely different than what Lara actually meant.
Bo may have snorted, but only because she was known for using safe words. Moreso in her dreams, such as when she’d had the threesome with the Fury and...whatever fae her husband had been. “I think a safe word would be good. Something that neither of us use in typical conversation, but one that would stick out a bit.”
“Do you have any ideas? Because I’m kind of at an impasse as to what to suggest. Banana pudding?” That just sounded ludicrous and Lara snerked.
That made her laugh a bit. “Banana pudding would make me laugh, most likely. What about sapphire? Or sapphire alert?” Considering her eyes turned blue, and they never used the word sapphire to describe her eye color. It had potential, despite it not being a funny safe word.
“Sapphire alert, I like that. Is your inner geek coming out?” Lara smiled lazily. It was a struggle to stay awake, but one she considered worth it. The conversation was too important to put off.
“Maybe a little bit,” she said with a chuckle. “I do have an inner geek. Sometimes I watch too many movies and shit for my own good. Especially living in Orange County where people from said movies and such are real.”
“Don’t remind me.” Lara made a face. “You’ll never get me to watch or play that Tomb Raider crap.” And it was crap. All of it. Crap. Her dreams were horrifying enough without it being for peoples’ entertainment.
“I would never do that to you. I admit to having seen the Angelina Jolie movies, and I played a couple of the older Tomb Raider games, but that’s about it.” Bo had initially seen the Angelina Jolie movies just because of Angelina being in it. She totally had a celebrity crush on that woman. “But I would never try to get you to watch or play them.”
“If you want to you… you can.” Lara thought that maybe it would help Bo understand some of what she’d been through. There were things that were hard to talk about even now. Things that she’d thought she was over but every so often she realized that no, she wasn’t actually okay.
Lara just tended to act like a cat and conceal her mental wounds.
“Are you sure?” Bo asked, looking at Lara. It felt like an invasion of privacy, and she would only do it to better understand Lara. And perhaps she should play the two most recent games. But she wanted to ensure that Lara was okay with it before doing so.
“Yes. I’m positive.” Lara pushed Bo onto her back suddenly, and all but flopped on top of her. She lifted her head. “Some things I can only...it would be easier to talk about without having to go into detail. And I suppose part of me is curious what kind of kill count you can wrack up.”
There was a slight yelp as she was pushed onto her back. Gazing up at Lara, she wrapped her arms snugly around her. “I understand. If you don’t want to overhear any of that, I can go over to Kenzi’s and play it there. I know you have issues stemming from your dreams, and triggering you is not something I want to do.”
“I’d appreciate that.” And she really would. It was easy enough to admit (to Bo if no one else) that she wouldn’t be able to handle hearing it. She’d once tried to watch a youtube video but the sound of herself screaming was too much, and that was without taking into account watching herself land on rebar.
“Then that’s what I’ll do.” She rubbed her nose against Lara’s as she gently rubbed her back. It wouldn’t be easy to play the games. Seeing Lara receive wounds that she saw the scars from would hurt, and it would hurt to watch the things she knew Lara suffered through. However, it would probably help her better understand her fiancé, and she wanted that. “Are you okay with Kenzi seeing that? That is, providing she hasn’t already played the games. She games a hell of a lot more than I do.”
“I couldn’t stop her even if I wanted to. It might be better for you two to play together. Think of it like a bonding experience for the three of us.” It really would be. Lara wondered if there was something like that out for Bo. A video game about a succubus.
She’d have to do Research.
“Consider what I know of your dreams, I may want the moral support.” Bo had no idea if there was any media of her dream world or not. She thought her life could make a decent television show, but she probably didn’t want to know that people could sit and watch the trials of a succubus and the trainwreck of a love life she led. She brushed her fingers through Lara’s hair. “But I like the idea of the bonding experience. I like getting to know you better.” She smiled at that. And she did like finding out new things about Lara, and better understanding how she ticked.
“Yes, that would be wise.” And while part of Lara wasn’t sure she wanted others personally experiencing that, there wasn’t much she could do. She’d looked at the sales figures and spent an hour sitting there in shock.
She leaned up and gently kissed Lara as her arms slid around her and hugged her close. “I love you.” Bo wasn’t taking this lightly, and she would be very respectful while playing the games. But she knew she needed to know the details that Lara hadn’t shared, that she probably couldn’t share because it was too emotional and difficult for her to do so. And she wanted to help Lara through the trauma as much as possible, and to do that she needed to know more of the context, the details that she didn’t know.
