Who: Myrcella and Anna
When: Late August sometime
Where: The Mall
What: Shopping!
Rating/Warnings: Low/None
Status: Complete
Anna was looking forward to going back to school. She couldn’t believe this was her third year of college! And she had enough units now that she was nearly finished. Though, she was considering adding a second major, so that would take up a little more time. Though she wasn’t all that great at Creative Writing, she was really interested in Journalism, and wanted to take more of those classes. She was signed up for one this fall!
She waited in the food court by the Starbucks, playing with her phone. It was only a couple minutes until Myrcella was supposed to come meet her.
Myrcella was looking forward to spending the day shopping with Anna, she’s been so busy lately with all her clients and helping Tessa find a new employee for the store that she really needed this time to relax and have fun with her friend. Shopping definitely came under that bracket.
“Hey” she said when she saw Anna waiting for her, “How are you?” she asked giving her friend a hug.
Anna looked up from her phone and broke into a bright smile. “Hey!” She said, bouncing up from her chair. The redhead hugged her friend excitedly. “Good! I’m good! Oh my God, I can’t wait to get back to school! How are you?” She sat back down again, motioning for Myrcella to do to the same. “Can we get some coffee to start off our shopping day?”
Myrcella laughed, “That isn’t what students usually say” she said as they sat down, “I’m good thanks. Getting really busy now. Coffee sounds like the perfect way to start our shopping day” she added in answer to Anna’s question.
“Yes!” Anna said, grinning brightly. “I’m thinking something with coffee and sugar and chocolate and blended with whipped cream? It’ll be the source of energy we need to brave the clothing stores.”
“I think that’ll power us through the entire day” Myrcella told her with a grin, “Come on let’s go get our sugar rushes so we can get started. We need you to be the most fashionable one at school”
“Sounds great!” Anna jumped up from the table and bounced to the line. There weren’t many people in front of them, so they didn’t have long before they were ordering, paying, and picking up their milkshake-like coffees. Anna sipped, gave a little sigh of appreciation, and then turned to walk with Myrcella out into the mall proper. “Okay, so. What colors are in this year? I need to look amazing.”
“Light blues, greys and rose. Mostly pastel and gentle colours which I'm sure we can get to suit you easily” Myrcella said with a smile.
“Probably.” Anna said, thinking about it as they walked together through the mall. “Aren’t greys and light pinks a little boring, though?” She asked, frowning. Her eyes came to a mannequin in a shop display, then she laughed. “I know absolutely nothing about fashion. Is it obvious?”
“Oh don’t worry, we’ll find the most amazing outfits, you will definitely not be boring” Myrcella promised, “And we’ll find some of the best accessories”
“You think we should try this place?” Anna asked. The clothes in the window looked ridiculously hip. Anna couldn’t help but think about how she wanted to wear something that would impress Wash. Then she flushed, scolding herself. She should dress for herself. Not to impress some guy. Some friends with benefits guy that she was convinced didn’t have interest in her beyond friendship and the occasional shag.
“Let’s give it a go” Myrcella nodded, holding the door open for her friend to go ahead of her. “I’m sure we can get some good ideas, it definitely looks on trend” she added as they entered and began looking around.
Anna nodded, and moved through the doorway with Myrcella. She was looking forward to seeing what the fashions were for the fall. Not that she really followed them, but it would be nice to have some cute things. New things. She started looking at some khaki pants, then some pink sweaters, some grey blouses, some jeans. One of the best things about being a princess was she could buy all she wanted. Money was no object.
That was one thing Myrcella and Anna had in common, they were both princesses in their dreams. It was nice, or at least Myrcella thought it was. In reality while she wasn’t a princess her family were well off and she wasn’t short of money. She didn’t waste it though, the things she brought had to be worth it. Especially clothes.
“This is cute” Myrcella said, finding a cute lace dress in a nice light blue that she thought would look lovely on Anna.
“Ooh!” Anna said as she came over. She really liked the dress Myrcella was holding up, and she reached out to touch the fabric. “This one’s super cute! Do you think it suits me?”
“I think it was made with you in mind” Myrcella told her with a smile, “You should definitely try it on” Myrcella had already decided for her friend, after all it didn’t hurt to try things. Even if they didn’t work which she was sure wouldn’t be the case here.
Anna nodded, putting the dress over one arm. Her eyes moved over to a grey skirt with yellow flowers on it. She gravitated in that direction, thinking about Wash, and how he’d said he liked grey and yellow together. It was adorable, and there was a yellow blouse and grey cardigan, all in one place. It looked like it all belonged together. She glanced back at Myrcella. “Do you think I can pull off yellow?”
“I definitely think you can pull off that shade of yellow” Myrcella nodded, “That outfit is great, whoever did the display has a good eye” she complimented as Anna added the ensemble to her pile to try on. “I think once we have the clothes then we’ll move on the accessories. There’s no point finding great shoes or bags if the outfit ends up being no good”
Anna beamed brightly, and pulled her size in the skirt, blouse and cardigan, too. “Now I’m really in a shopping mood! Let’s find some more things!” She moved a little further into the shop looking at cute pants with embroidery, long-sleeved shirts with sequins, and some other fun things, too. “I didn’t think I was going to like these colors, but man, they’re really growing on me. I could get a whole new wardrobe!”
“They’re nice, not hit you in the face like bolder colours but more subtle. There are some beautiful shades in lighter colours around” Myrcella noded, even she had picked up a couple of things because she simply hadn’t been able to resist.
“It’s growing on me.” Anna smiled over at Myrcella. “You found some things, too! Do you want to go try on?” She just had to make sure things fit. She could deal with the rest of it later. Anna moved over to the dressing rooms to start trying things on.
Myrcella nodded, “Yes let’s do that. It’s always the most fun part” she grinned, mostly because it was like a mini catwalk especially with a friend. “Oh that is beautiful” she said to Anna when she tried on the first blue lace dress they found.
Anna was in love with the blue lace dress. She came out to the three-way mirror and spun around in front of it, admiring the dress from all angles. “Thank you! And I love that sweater you found! We look so adorable! We should find something fun to go out and do, all dressed up like this!” Then she went back into the changing room to try on the next outfit.
“We should, we'll have to see what we can come up with before you go back to school” Myrcella said, before she too went to change.
A few more outfits for each of them, and Anna was ready to make her purchases. She’d decided to buy everything she tried on, but she was most excited about the blue dress, and the grey outfit with the yellow flowers. She couldn’t wait to wear them out! “Should we hit one more shop before we head home?”
“Definitely” Myrcella said, “There’s a new shop just opened which apparently has some lovely unique pieces” she grinned, “I think we will totally find something there”
Anna gave a loud squee as they headed out of the first shop. “Thank you for helping me find fashionable things for the new school year!” She said, grinning over at her friend. “This is so much fun!”
“You’re welcome. I love shopping with you, it helps that everything suits you” Myrcella said with a return grin, “And you are going to be the best dressed when you go back to school”
“I can’t wait!” Anna said, grinning.
