Integra was bent over her desk in her office. She had a stack of papers in front of her, then one to her right. Her long hair was tied back in a loose pony tail, bound with a red ribbon. She'd taken to adding more of what she thought of as Alucards color to her wardrobe. She liked the dark red more now.
She was furrowing her brow as she poured over something from her father's less legal side of business then she sighed and tucked it back in the pile before pulling down the construction papers. She'd already paid for the land, and filed all the right paperwork, she was just going over costs now.
Integra lifted her eyes and snapped her head up, fingers drawing one of her guns from the drawer in a smooth movement, leveling it where she thought he was going to appear. A smile twitched her lips, she no longer was scared of hurting him. It'd become a game to see if she could even tag him with a shot.
Alucard was very impressed with how attuned to him Integra was becoming, it was a very good sign. Of course that didn’t mean he’d make it easy for her. That simply wasn’t the way he worked.
Rippling into the room he retained his non-corporeal form for a little longer than usual in the anticipation that she would try to shoot him and put, yet another, bullet into the wall. It was always fun to see her irritated that she hadn’t beaten him, it was on par with when she did though that happened less frequently.
“Hello darling” he said smoothly with a grin.
Integra was grinning, she'd put a bullet through the wall but instead of being frustrated she'd waited. Patiently. Before she'd shoot again, although this time she followed it with herself moving, around the desk and guessing where he'd move to.
She wasn't nearly as fast as he was, but she was a quick study and she was already faster than she'd been a few weeks ago. She just wanted to try to get a tiny advantage some time. She wasn't able to pull his non-corporeal trick yet but heaven help him when she figured it out.
“Is it sad that I've begun a budget for bullet hole repairs?” She asked as she found her footing after missing him again.
“I think that’s rather sensible love” Alucard replied, moving directly in front of her with a grin, “Very clever” He was very proud of her, though she wasn’t wrong in thinking that he would get his comeuppance if she ever did work out how to make herself non-corporeal. Luckily though that was a while away yet.
She tossed the gun back onto her desk, the element of surprise had been used. That was alright, she'd get him at least once today. Or tomorrow. Whichever. She looked up at him and grinned a bit. “It's a terribly large budget item. I think you should just take them and save me the money.” She chided with a smile.
“But where is the fun in that?” he asked her, “You know you wouldn’t be happy unless you hit me fair and square” Because otherwise she’d just get mad at him for pandering to her.
She gave him a smile, because it was true, she'd give him hell for pandering to her. Integra smiled sweetly. “I have a present for you.” Pondering already how she'd get him next time. Though she was sure she was going to knock him out here.
“Oh? Something other than a bullet?” he asked, raising an eyebrow at her while also being intrigued by what she had up her sleeve.
She tilted her head back to laugh, shoulders shaking, eyes sparkling. “Oh love, if a bullet was a present every day would be Christmas. How would it be special?”
“You have a point, though perhaps if it was a very special bullet it could be?” he chuckled, “But come on then, tell me what this present is”
Integra shook her head gently. “Nah. Those bullets might hurt and I can't have that happening.” She moved back to her desk to pluck a couple things from a drawer. She handed him the blueprint of the garage. “Think that'll house everything?” She asked with a little grin, her other hand and what she'd picked up still behind her.
Alucard smiled, his love was still so careful in some things. And he was glad of it, her slight softness hadn’t changed.
“I think it looks perfect” he said, opening the blueprint and finding himself very impressed with what he saw.
Climate controlled, security, the ability to work on then there, a car wash. Integra thought of just about everything. Her eyes glinted as she tossed him an envelope, lips curled upwards.
She really had gone all out and Alucard couldn’t deny that he was rather excited about it all, especially seeing all his cars. “Oh, what’s this?” he asked as he began to open the envelope.
Inside was a set of photos of a small cabin tucked away in the mountains. Parked outside was a
