It was hard to believe that hopefully soon the three of them would be living together in their own space. Splendid was excited about the prospect of taking residence with two of her closest friends. With Valerian on her hip, and his diaper bag - which was considerably smaller now than it had been when he was younger - she made her way to the door of Capable's and Furiosa's place. She gave a soft knock, only to step in after announcing that it was her. "Hello ladies, we ready to go searching for the perfect place for us?" She grinned brightly, bouncing Valerian slightly on her hip.

Furiosa had just finished dressing, fixing her modern prothesis as she stepped out of her (now shared) bedroom with Capable. “I’m more than ready. We should make sure there’s room for extra. I don’t know if Laura would want to move with us or do something else. I’d like to leave the option open for her.”

Capable was super excited at the thought they would all be living with each other, she honestly couldn’t wait. She finished tying up her hair and moved to give Splendid and hug and drop a kiss to Valerian’s head, “Extra space is a good idea, just in case anybody else turns up too” she added picking up her handbag.

"Of course, I'm perfectly fine with that." She hadn't really had a chance to meet Laura, but she was fine with sharing space with others. After all, they all did have to stick together in this crazy world. Valerian let out a giggle at the kiss from Capable, which caused Splendid to smile. "But yes, I keep hoping that the other girls will show up." She worried about them, and she wondered how they were doing out there. "I'll have to switch over his car seat to your car." Splendid would've left him in daycare, however, she knew how much he enjoyed seeing the other two. "Won't take but a second to do, I think I've gotten it down to an art at this point."

Furiosa hoped that Cheeto and The Dag were together, at least, even if they hadn’t found them yet. Even better if they were with the vulvalini too, but she doubted any of them would be that lucky. Whenever she thought about it, it made her antsy. For their sake, and the sake of the two with her - because it meant that maybe Immortan Joe was out there too.

And if he was, well Furiosa would probably end up in jail. “I made sure it was cleaned out.”

Capable squeezed Furiosa’s hand as they moved towards the door to head to the car, she knew Furiosa worried about them all - even the girls who weren’t here. She had a kind heart. “Wanna come to Auntie Capable while mummy moves your seat big man?” she said to the baby and took him easily in her arms when Splendid handed him over to her.

Splendid didn't even want to entertain the idea that Joe was out there somewhere. It was terrifying enough for her to know that Valerian's father was still out there alive and well. Splendid handed over Valerian to Capable, and he was all too happy to go to his auntie. It didn't take long for her to switch over the car seat from her car into the back of Furiosa's. She put the diaper bag into the floor, and then held out her hands for Valerian again. He was buckled in in no time, and she moved to sit in the back beside him. "Alright, so there was an open house in a suburb close by. I'm not sure how many bedrooms it is, but we can go check it out." Reaching into the side pocket of the diaper bag, she pulled out a pamphlet that she'd found at the local realtor office and leaned forward to hand it to Capable.

Luckily, Furiosa’s corvette had room for them and the baby, as well as assorted supplies. Furiosa was pretty sure that Valerian loved the sound of the engine more than she did. Good. She’d already decided to pass the car down to him when he was old enough. It would have to be a surprise.

“We’ll check that one out first. There was another one the next city over I was looking at too. It’s close to a park.”

Capable was always delighted that Valerian liked coming to herself and Furiosa, it not only gave Splendid a break sometimes but it made her feel like she was a good person, to be so easily accepted by a baby. It was reassuring.

“I’m so excited” she told them as they discussed the houses they were going to visit, “I just know we’re going to find the perfect place”

"Oh that would be good." Splendid replied, it would be nice to live next to a park where they could take walks and go play with Valerian and the puppy. Splendid was excited herself, and looking forward to their little adventure for the day. "Oh we'll definitely find something that will suit our needs I'm sure." She leaned back and watched out the window as the scenery passed. "I really do like the idea of living next to a park. It'd be convenient."

“A positive outlook is good.” Furiosa was careful. With the baby in the car the last thing she wanted was something bad to happen. She took them to the open house first, since it was closer, but she could already tell the other one was exciting the women more. A green park nearby? The thought made Furiosa happy, too. “Let’s see what we’ve got going on here.”

“House number one” Capable said, though she too was already taken with the idea of living so close to a park. She liked being outside, having the freedom to do what she wanted wasn’t as much as a novelty as it had originally been when she first got out of the cult but it was something she still enjoyed. “Let’s go see what it has to offer” she hopped out of the car and helped Splendid with Valerian.

It seemed like it might already be settled, and Splendid was fine with that. "The school district here is decent, or at least that's what I've read online." She only pulled a toy truck from the diaper bag, which would be enough to distract Valerian while they looked through the house. It was nice enough, from the outside, and as she walked inside the house. They were greeted by a realtor that handed them a booklet about the house, and told that if they had any questions that they were free to ask, otherwise they could take a look around the house. Splendid turned to look at the two other women with her, "Upstairs, or downstairs first?"

House number one had a lot to live up to, compared to the house near the park. Though knowing their luck, the one near the park was run down or in a skeevy neighborhood. But they would find out, Furiosa supposed. And she’d lived in some really bad places, so nothing much scared her. “Let me check out the garage first, then downstairs?”

After all, between her and Max, the garage was Important™.

Capable smiled knowing how much the garage would be used, after all there were a number of vehicles between them all. Having never really house hunted before Capable found it all quite exciting and fun and followed happily as they explored the garage to see if it was up to Furiosa’s standards.

"Sounds like a plan to me." She knew that it would be an important part of their house, especially if Max did decide to move in with them. She couldn't help but think that he would eventually, but of course, she could very well be wrong. Splendid shifted Valerian higher up on her hip, walking to the door of the garage to peek in. All she knew was how to drive her car, she had no idea what to do about anything else, but still this place looked to be a bit on the small side. "Hm, doesn't look that big." She pursed her lips in thought before taking a step back and wandering down the hallway toward the kitchen.

The garage could stand to be a little bigger, and it would take some work to bring it up to a standard she’d approve of. “It’s not the biggest no.” She spent a few minutes checking the garage out, before joining Splendid in the kitchen. “This is bigger than mine right now. But it’s not hard to be bigger than our kitchen.” The stove barely worked, too.

Capable didn’t even know how to drive so Splendid was ahead of her there, she either caught the bus to work or sometimes she got lifts. Max had offered to teach her but she wasn’t all that confident behind a wheel. She might take him up on the offer sometime though, if only to surprise Furiosa. “This kitchen isn’t too bad, though it seems to be short on cupboard space” she said and with all of them and Valerian’s baby foods she imagined they would need good storage space.

The kitchen was bigger than Splendid's as well, although all of her appliances worked just fine in her apartment. Still, she wasn't completely sold on it especially when Capable brought up the point that it could stand to have more storage space. "Yeah, I think that something a little bigger might be better." The house overall wasn't bad, but she just -- it just didn't feel right yet. Moving on into the living room, she glanced around. It wasn't so bad, with high ceilings and a nice staircase with wide enough stairs she shifted Valerian to her other hip. "I do like the staircase. The stairs are pretty wide, so we wouldn't have to wait for someone to go up or down."

“I do like this room. But it sounds like the kitchen and garage might be dealbreakers.” Furiosa headed up the stairs. They should at least check out the bedrooms. There were two bathrooms (one of which actually had a bathtub, which would be a first for Furiosa), and four bedrooms, all roughly the same size. This part wasn’t so bad, but then she had very low standards when it came to sleeping spaces. Decent bed, place to store clothing, place to store a gun safe (though the garage would probably be that place).

The bedrooms were nice, Capable would be able to put her books on a good size bookcase without taking up the majority of the room which was nice. The bathtub was pretty awesome too, though Capable tended to take showers just because it was easier and she was more used to them, “It’s a nice house, but not perfect” she said, “We’ll have to see what we think compared to the next one”

"I have to agree," Splendid replied as she looked around the rooms upstairs. "I think that it's time to go look at this place near the park." It was a nice house indeed, but nothing was screaming that they should put in a bid on the place. It was an option though, but still, she didn't think that either one of them were really impressed with the place. She gave the realtor a nod, and a thanks before she headed back out to the car to get Valerian into his car seat and herself in the seat beside him.

Furiosa definitely agreed. She took one last look around before following the others to the car. She got the AC going and once everyone was settled, took them out. The first thing she did was drive them past the park twice, so they could get a good look at it. “We should come here after we look at the house,” She suggested.

“We should” Capable agreed, after all Valerian had been so good looking around the house he deserved a little park fun. And if they did like the next house it would become their local park too.

“Oh it looks pretty” she said as Furiosa pulled up outside the house, it was plain but worked well with the other houses in the street and it looked in good condition.

"I'm game, aren't you little man?" She reached over and tickled Valerian's feet, causing him to giggle. Splendid figured that they all deserved a little bit of a break after house hunting. It could be tiring after all. Peering out the window to look at the house, she nodded. "It is very pretty, and it already looks bigger on the outside than the other one did." Her excitement began to grow, and she was ready to explore this new place.

She didn’t think there’d be too much work they’d have to do on it. The garage looked large enough and there was a decent sized drive way. Plenty to work with. She led them inside, taking a detour into the garage. It was spacious, with well placed shelving already in place, and most excitingly the previous owner had installed a lift. It would let them lift cars up several feet and was sunk in so that they could stand up inside it. Furiosa stared at it. “I’m sold.”

Capable laughed, “So easily pleased” she teased nudging Furiosa’s arm, “Give you a gadget for the cars and you’re sold” She stood on tiptoe to press a kiss to her cheek before turning to Splendid and smiling, “Shall we see if the rest of the house sells us too?”

With Valerian on her hip, Splendid followed behind everyone, eyes scanning over the outside of the house and then quickly over the inside as they entered. Laughing, she gave a shake of her head. "I can see why you would be." She moved out of the way, giving a nod over in Capable's direction. "I'm ready." She moved toward the kitchen, eying the apparently new appliances that had just been installed. "Wow, those are nice, and it's rather big." It was much bigger than the place they'd previously looked at and with each passing room she could feel herself becoming sold as well. "I really love this place." She spoke finally with a nod, "I say we make a bid on it."

The kitchen was large enough that it left Furiosa feeling a little small. She liked the size of the living rooms and the bed rooms too. The backyard was large enough for the puppy and Valerian too. She looked at the other two women, folding her arms and leaning against the wall. “I think we’d regret it if we didn’t try.”

“I think so too” Capable said, she’d fallen in love completely with the house and all the rooms. The backyard was the icing on the cake, it was spacious and the puppy would love it. As would the baby of course. It might even be big enough to get a little swing out there which would be lovely.

“Let’s make an offer” she grinned.
