Who: Anna of Arendelle and Bubbles & Stefan later
When: Recently
Where: Anna, Lexi, & Stefan’s house
What: ANOTHER SLEEPOVER!
Rating/Warnings: Low/None
Status: Complete
This time Bubbles told the Professor that she’d be sleeping over at Anna’s house. She made plans. Today’s plans involved snacks and Finding Nemo. She’d put on her pajamas and brought a blanket along with Owlbert and Octi. Maybe it was silly for her to bring stuffed animals with her, but she didn’t actually care about that. She was happy to be silly. Part of it had to do with keeping her promise to make sure Owlbert got enough cuddles.
Wrapping her blanket around her shoulders, Bubbles sat down on the couch and crossed her legs. “I probably should have had a Finding Nemo themed pajama set,” she said after a moment. “I mean, obviously it’s not that important, but it could have been fun anyway!” She did wonder whether or not talking to animals meant that she could talk to fish, too. Could she talk to turtles? She’d have to find out eventually. “I do like orange and white, but blue is more common. I guess it mirrors my dreams. I wear blue all the time. Even my bathing suit is blue!”
“Oh my gosh, that would have been great!” Anna gave a happy giggle. She was wearing a more classic Disney: The Little Mermaid. She loved that Hot Topic sold pajamas and things with the classic Disney films on them (and she was young enough to think that The Little Mermaid was classic) and had spent a pretty penny on some really adorable sleepwear. Also, now that she had someone sleeping over somewhat regularly, she felt like she really should look cute, even at midnight. So she was wearing an Ariel tank top and cotton pajama shorts with Flounder and Sebastian on them. Anna was such a princess.
“But hey, we can do like… Finding Nemo themed snacks! I’ve got Sweedish Fish? If we add them to ice cream, BAM. Instant theme snack!” Anna brightened a little. “C’mon, let’s go make some sundaes.”
Bubbles brightened as Anna suggested themed sundaes. "Yes! That totally works!" She was more than happy to add Swedish Fish to the ice cream. Even if it did make chewy candies more difficult to chew. She didn't really mind, though. Letting go of her blanket, she stood up and made her way to the kitchen. It was easy to find things in the house now that she'd been there more than a few times, so she grabbed the ice cream from the freezer and put it on the counter.
"I'm glad that we're watching Finding Nemo. Even if it makes me super sad at some points. Then again, nothing hurts more than UP or The Good Dinosaur. Disney likes to make you cry early these days."
Anna dug out some bowls and spoons, set them on the counter, then traded places with Bubbles so she could get whipped cream and chocolate sauce from the fridge. “No, I think Up is the worst. I weep like a… well, like something that weeps a lot!” Anna said, she shook her head, setting the other ingredients on the counter. “Pixar, man. They really like to mess with my emotions! Did you see Inside Out? That one, too--I cried so much!”
"Kids movies hate us, basically." Bubbles was pretty sure about that. Either way, she was going to keep watching them. She was going to watch them and be sad a lot of the time. "Up is pretty terrible, but did you see The Good Dinosaur? Horrible. I mean, it's really great, but also my heart still hasn't recovered. I DID SEE THAT!" Maybe shouting was unnecessary, but honestly. Anyone who had seen the movie would totally understand. "Why do they want us to cry so much? Is it because they have stock in ice cream and tissues?" It was entirely possible if not exactly likely. Unless it was true. In which case, they'd been very successful.
She started to make her sundae, shaking her head at the fact that she was still thinking about that. "I can't wait for the new Dory movie to come out, though! I love Dory!"
“RIGHT? I KNOW. RIGHT?” Anna agreed, also raising her voice more than was absolutely necessary. She scooped her ice cream, poured her chocolate, and squirted the whipped cream on there before starting to tidy. “I think Disney/Pixar is in league with Kleenex. That must be it.” She shrugged her shoulders, capping the chocolate sauce.
“Oh my god, Dory is amazing. Amazing! I can’t wait to see it, too! WE SHOULD GO. WE SHOULD DRAG STEFAN AND... AND GO.” She’d almost mentioned the guy she’d been seeing, but decided against it. Even though Wash and Stefan were really good friends, and it would probably be an amazing night, she wasn’t sure if a situation like that was… appropriate? She’d have to backburner that and think about it later.
"It's the only explanation that makes ANY SENSE!" Because why else would they make the movies so sad? Unless they really liked to make people sad, which didn't really seem very nice of Disney and Pixar. They really shouldn't be actively making people sad because it made them happy to do it.
Bubbles lit up at the idea. "YES! WE CAN DRAG EVERYONE!" She had a feeling Blossom and Buttercup would go if she gave them enough sad looks and pouted enough. They did plenty of things she wanted them to because she pouted and looked cute. It was possibly bad manners to do things like this...especially since she'd just made faces at Disney and Pixar for something sort of similar. "Blossom and Buttercup would totally go, too! I would just have to tell them." It took all of her effort not to bounce around the kitchen. She put the ice cream away and picked up her sundae before going back to the living room. "I can't wait!"
“Oh my gosh, that’s the best idea ever. We need to get a whole group together and go!” Anna was super excited about this plan. After making sure Bubbles was finished putting together her sundae, Anna started to put the rest of the ingredients away. Then she turned to lead Bubbles into the living room where the movie was ready to go. “It must be awesome to have two sisters you’re so close with!”
“Yes!” It was a great idea. Bubbles liked going to movies, but she’d never gotten to go with a whole group of people before. It sounded like a really great time. “I am pretty lucky. I know it was mostly accident that brought us together when we were little, but I’m glad that we have each other now.” It was amusing to think of the fact that they were real sisters in the dreams. Not that she didn’t think they were real sisters now, but they hadn’t had any other parents. Just the Professor. He was the one that made them. “They’re the best.”
“That’s so sweet!” Anna said, smiling warmly at her friend. Her relationship with Elsa had improved drastically over the last couple of years, but it was really distant at first. Cold, almost, which was strange to say, considering their Dreams. She leaned back a little and lifted her spoon. “Elsa and I get along much better now than when we were kids. I mean, she was so rarely around, we didn’t know each other much back then.”
“Really? Oh, we’ve been really close since we met each other. The Professor met us all and he said he couldn’t choose, so he took all three of us. It must have been a lot to have three five year olds.” She ate a bit of her ice cream. “I’m glad you guys get along now, though. Sisters should always get along. It’s kind of sad when they don’t.” She didn’t know what she’d do if her, Blossom, and Buttercup didn’t get along. She guessed they sometimes had arguments, but nothing that lasted and they still loved each other.
Anna smiled warmly. “That’s so sweet.” She loved hearing the story about how Bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup were adopted! It made her heart warm from the inside. “Yeah, definitely. Elsa and I are like peas in a pod now. Speaking of peas, I have this amazing garden over at her house! You should come check it out sometime.”
Bubbles’ eyes lit up. “Oh, I love that! I have a few flowers in my window! It’s so much fun!” She bounced in her seat before she started to eat her ice cream. “I’d love to see your garden!” The movie distracted her for a minute and she looked over, watching it for a minute before saying, “Can you imagine losing someone like that? And then not knowing where they were the whole time? That sounds awful.” She didn’t really want to think about losing anyone. Especially not children she didn’t even have yet.
“This movie is so sad, if you think about it. The whole thing, from beginning to end. I cry so hard every time Marlin picks up the little, scratched egg… he’s just lost his wife, and his children, and Nemo is all he has left.” Anna said, getting a little teary eyed just thinking about it. She took another bite of ice cream. “But yeah. I lost my sister in the Dreams. I ended up finding her again, but it was… crazy. I missed her so much. And it was all my fault she’d gone, too.”
“That is sad.” Bubbles pouted a little, following Anna’s lead and eating more of her ice cream. “Oh no. That’s so sad, too. Where did she go?” The idea of ever losing her sisters was so sad that Bubbles felt such a sadness that she had to wipe a few tears away. “I’m glad you found her, though. That sounds awful.”
“She went up into the North Mountain because she thought it was safer for everyone else in the kingdom for her to be away.” Anna replied. She shook her head and squared her shoulders. “It’s okay, though. It all worked out in the end.” A smile crossed her lips as she turned to her friend. “Like most things, I think.”
Bubbles nodded as she spoke, moving to lean lightly against her. She thought it might help her to feel better. Being close to people usually helped her feel better when things weren’t going all that well or she was upset. She wasn’t very good at pretending to be okay, but she knew that other people tried. “I’m glad that it worked out for you, though. I don’t think it would have been very nice if it didn’t. But I guess some people have really sad dreams.” She looked over to the movie briefly. “I love this part.” She sang along with Dory as she sang about swimming and they ran into the Angler fish.
Anna grinned softly when she could feel her friend cuddling up. It was nice to have that kind of comfort--she hadn’t had a whole lot of it during her formative years, and sometimes Anna felt like she was making up for it now. She cuddled with pretty much everyone. (Though, cuddling sometimes led to more when it came to certain people.) The thought made her blush.
“Some people do. Like Stefan.” Anna said, softly. Then she sang along, too.
Speaking of Stefan, the sound of keys jingling on the other side of the door could be heard over the sound of the movie. And then it opened. “Lucy? I’m home.” Stefan quoted Ricky Ricardo, but didn’t try the accent. Thankfully. Then, instantly, he was behind the girls on the sofa, smiling down at them. “Whatcha watching?”
Bubbles had had plenty of cuddles, but it didn’t stop her from taking comfort in it and always wanting to cuddle up to other people.
Stefan. He deserved so much more than he got from the dreams, but then Bubbles was very biased. She always wanted to make everything so much better for him. Even if it was only a few little things. Anything she could do to make it better was worth it.
Looking up at Stefan, Bubbles did the only thing she could even think of. “Neeeeeemooooooo.” as if she was Dory imitating the whale. There was a beat before she started cracking up. It wasn’t that funny, maybe, but she thought it was.
It might not have been that funny to Stefan, but Anna was in stitches. She snorted with her giggles, then laughed even harder because of it.
Stefan came around to the other side of the sofa, walking slowly as the girls laughed. Then he slipped down into the seat beside Bubbles and wedged himself in the corner of the sofa. One arm draped along the back. “I wish I could speak whale.” He said, grinning softly.
The more that Anna laughed, the more that Bubbles laughed. Her sides were starting to hurt by the time that Stefan sat down, but she couldn’t stop laughing. “It hurts,” she said quietly. “Help. I can’t stop.” The moment he spoke, however, Bubbles started laughing even harder. “Not. Helping.”
Stefan finally laughed a little, moving closer to Bubbles to wrap an arm around her shoulders.
Anna curled over, then fell off the sofa onto the floor. Her sides were aching now, too, as she giggled uncontrollably.
“Is that better?” Stefan asked, hopefully calming his laughing girlfriend. He didn’t want her to hurt. “You girls want some water?”
Bubbles was glad that Stefan had taken ahold of her. She didn't want to fall on the ground like Anna had.
It took a few minutes, but eventually she calmed down enough to keep from laughing so much. “Yeah. I'm good.” But now it was a matter of effectively catching her breath. “I think water might be good. Maybe then we won't die.”
Anna was giving long wheezes and whistles as she relaxed her stomach muscles. She lifted hands to wipe at her eyes, too, calming down a bit. “Water sounds great.” She said, and climbed back up onto the sofa.
“All right.” Stefan kissed the top of Bubbles’ head, then disentangled himself from her so he could go grab a couple of bottles of water from the fridge in the kitchen. He came back a moment later and handed them over. “Movie’s almost over?”
Bubbles took her water, making herself a little more comfortable on the couch. She was still smiling, but she wasn’t doubled over laughing anymore. “Yeah. It’s close enough. Why? You in a rush to escape from Finding Nemo?”
Stefan shrugged. “Finding him once was enough for me.” He said. Stefan watched the Pixar films with Bubbles and Anna when requested, and he’d seen the whole Disney collection while he worked at Disneyland… but he wasn’t big into them. “Are you hanging around after?”
Anna rolled her eyes. “I’ll make sure she knocks on your door when the movie’s over, okay?” She said, grinning, looking over at Stefan and Bubbles. They were so cute together.
Bubbles laughed a little. “I can stop in when it's over,” she agreed. She didn't understand why Stefan was never quite interested in the movies like she was. But Anna was there to watch the movies with her, so it was fine.
“Are you leaving us?”
“I’ve got some reading to do.” Stefan didn’t want to interfere on their girl time. Besides, they’d used Anna as an excuse to be together before, and if Bubbles and Anna were good friends, Stefan would feel a little less guilty about taking advantage of said friendship. He leaned over to kiss her hair one more time. “Enjoy your movie.”
Anna turned her attention back to the television as Stefan wandered out of the room. “You guys are pretty disgusting,” she said, grinning into her water bottle. “It’s nice to know that love like that really exists.”
“Okay, Mr. Serious. Enjoy your reading.” Bubbles couldn't help smiling as he kissed her hair. Even as her nose scrunched up ever so slightly. “And I will enjoy it, thank you.”
However, when Anna spoke, she felt her whole face heat up. “I make it my business to be the most gross ever?” She tried to keep the question out of the sentence, but she couldn't really help it. “I guess I'd never know it was a thing for sure if I wasn't part of it. He's pretty great.”
Anna chuckled softly. “He’s really great. And you’re really great, too. I’m super ridiculous happy for the both of you.” She couldn’t help but grin, then she leaned in and whispered conspiratorially. “What’s it like? I mean, he’s a vampire, right? Is it… weird? He’s a great friend, but we’re not… you know. Intimate.”
Bubbles felt herself blush even more when Anna asked about her and Stefan. “Well, we've never...um...you know.” Her whole face felt overly hot as she looked down at her lap. “I...well,” her voice lowered slightly in an attempt to keep Stefan from hearing. She had no idea if he could hear everything or not. “I don't think I'd mind, but I don't know if I can say it without hiding under a cover and avoiding eye contact.” She glanced up briefly before adding, “But I really like kissing him. He's cooler than expected...temperature wise, but I don't mind.”
“What?” Anna asked, and laughed. “You two… you haven’t? Oh man. You’re missing out! I mean, unless you’re saving yourself?” She asked, wondering if her words were going to offend? It was funny that Bubbles had gone so pink. But Anna understood--it was a pretty personal subject. Anna shrugged her shoulders. “You should tell him if you want to. And if you don’t want to, that’s fine, too. I mean, he’s a good guy. He’ll probably do whatever you tell him you want to do.”
Bubbles felt even more awkward about it after Anna’s reaction “No. I’m not saving myself. I mean...not for marriage anyway.” She was more just against the idea of sleeping with anyone that she didn’t have serious feelings for or before she was ready. She couldn’t really say that she didn’t have serious feelings for Stefan, nor could she strictly say that she wasn’t ready. “We’ve had to take things a little slower at times.” She didn’t explain that it was to do with the whole vampire thing. She’d seen the way he looked when the blood lust kicked in. She couldn’t lie and say it wasn’t scary, but she’d grown to love him even with all of that. “But maybe I will tell him anyway.”
Anna grinned. She was glad that Bubbles had found Stefan, and that Stefan had found Bubbles in return. And she realized that asking Bubbles about all of this was probably putting pressure on her friend. She didn’t mean to push! Poor Stefan had enough trouble with control as it was. Anna didn’t want to stick her nose in where it didn’t belong.
“You should do what makes you comfortable.” Anna said. “I mean, follow your heart.”
Bubbles nodded. It didn’t really change the way she was currently feeling. She just didn’t really know how to talk about it with people. Maybe it was just something that she didn’t need really need to talk about with other people. But maybe. She’d figure it out. “I will,” she promised, toying with her hair before she leaned against Anna. “I loooooveee yoooouuuu.” Whale voice again.
Anna laughed. “I looooooveeeeee yooooouuuu, tooooooo,” she replied. Somewhere, somehow, the movie had ended. Anna picked up the bowls to take them into the kitchen. “Now, go knock on his door and cuddle up. You deserve a snuggle.”
