Tyler had been looking forward to seeing Blossom after his shift since he first showed up to work. He didn’t dislike his job, but serving drinks to rich old men was only interesting for so long. Though, it got much more interesting when a green rift appeared near the bar.
Thoughts of Blossom were driven from his mind as shades and wraiths appeared from the rift. Many of the customers left in a panic, though Tyler couldn’t quite bring himself to do the same. What was the point of being super strong and fast if you didn’t use it when demons attacked? Leaping from behind the bar, Tyler tackled one of the shades, giving a series of quick, strong punches.
Blossom had been looking forward to meeting up with Tyler, she knew she was a little bit early, but she didn’t mind waiting for a little while anyway. She’d never been to a club like this anyway. She expected it to be super swank with loads of posh people. She didn’t expect to see a bunch of people running from the place, screaming.
Something was wrong!
Pushing past all the people running out, cursing herself for wearing heels, Blossom tried to find Tyler among the--- Were those demons? “Oh my…” It looked like the OC was being crazy again! There was a strange something, a glowy being moving towards one of the dancer girls trying to get out. “Hey!” She was so thankful for her lightning bolts right then, getting between the girl and the wraith to launch her pink bolts right at the thing, pushing it backwards, making it’s light glow flicker before it seemed to gather itself.
Oh, this wasn’t good.
Tyler looked up when he caught a flicker of pink from the corner of his eye, and smiled a little to himself. He wasn’t sure if this thing had, well, bones, but he grabbed its head in both his hands and snapped its neck with a sudden twist. He was both pleased and relieved when it stopped moving.
“Hey babe,” Tyler said, making his way to Blossom’s side, relieved to see her there. “Cute thunderbolts. You’re early.”
Blossom was running on a sudden burst of adrenaline, probably the thrill of being in an actual fight with her powers now, “Hey!” She spared long enough to give Tyler a big grin, leaning up to give him a quick kiss in greeting and making sure he was all in one piece himself. “Thanks, I’m really enjoying them.”
Since her minor freak out, they’d come really in handy, and that was a great thing. “I figured, people prefer early meet ups, than late ones. Glad I was early now.” If only so that someone was around to watch Tyler’s very attractive back. “You have any idea what these things are?” Since it seemed there were more coming from the swirly vortex thing, green glowy things and those nasty demon looking beasts.
Nothing like a mid-battle kiss to turn the mood around. Tyler came away from the kiss smiling widely, before turning his gaze back to the demons. “You and me both. Though, I’m always glad when you’re early.” He caught the arm of one of the demons as it swiped at them, then punched it in what he assumed was its sternum. The demon didn’t double over, but it was stunned long enough for Tyler to grab it on either side of its head and snap its neck. “No idea what the hell these things are though. I’m pretty sure they’re not from my dreams.”
Neck snapping should not be hot. It should not make her pause long enough to appreciate biceps and precision, but damn. “Right!” Snapping herself out of that -she needed to stop objectifying her decidedly sexy boyfriend- Blossom took a look around the place. There were some of those demony looking things, and the glowy things, terrorising a few of the patrons and dancers that hadn’t gotten to a clear path out. “Let’s just get the people out to safety and worry about where these things came from later.”
It seemed like her Powerpuff leadership was kicking in a little too, she never meant to get bossy or anything, but it just sort of happened that way.
There was nothing Tyler liked more in a woman than one who could take charge. Other people might call it “bossy” or “micromanaging,” but Tyler called it sexy. He might roll his eyes sometimes if it was over something minor, but that was usually just to keep up appearances.
And in this case, it really was the best way to go about things. In his dreams, no one seemed to care much about collateral damage. He was a little ashamed to realize that he was beginning to think the same way - beat the monsters, save himself and Blossom, and bravo to anyone else who managed to come out alive.
“Always with the good ideas,” Tyler said, a planting a kiss on her forehead before looking around. There was someone being targeted by one of the see-through demons. He hadn’t really seen those when he’d been fighting them with Peeta, but he assumed that they died just like the other demons. He threw himself at the creature, and was more than a little startled when he passed right through it, crashing into a table on the other side. On the bright side, his move had distracted the wraith enough that it had turned its attention from the frightened patron to Tyler.
They were like a team already, her and Tyler. She could totally call the shots if he was more than willing to follow them. And capable. Werewolf strength and reflexes clearly being what they were.
For the moment, Blossom left Tyler to dealing with that glowy-wraith thing, turning her attention to the people huddling under tables, “Everyone! Get to the exit as quickly and calmly as possible,” the fewer people around, the less chances of bystander casualties. And Blossom was far more observant of that than she had been in her dreams. She wasn’t super strong yet, and she couldn’t fly, but Blossom had her super lightning bolts and her common sense.
With one of the other bartenders hovering by the bar, hiding away while one of the more beast like things stalked him, Blossom climbed up on the bar to kick an empty glass at the thing before taking careful aim and zap! “You! Get the back exit open and get these people out!” Yup, definitely letting her Powerpuff leadership take over there.
Now, where was Tyler and that glowy thing?
Tyler was having trouble with that glowy thing. He’d tried to punch it a few times, but his fist had just passed harmlessly through the thing, and he was becoming more and more panicked. It felt as though it was draining something from him, feeding off his thoughts and emotions, making the fear in him sharper. The person it had been attacking had already scrambled for the door, but Tyler couldn’t figure out how to make it go away. Eyes flashing yellow, he growled loudly at the wraith.
Okay; could werewolves turn outside of the moon? If put under enough stress? Blossom didn’t know the answer to that, and she didn’t think finding out was a good idea, not right now. The glowy thing didn’t seem to care about the werewolf swiping at it, and Tyler was just getting more frustrated from what she could see.
Moving past the tables, Blossom went for the stage, getting the height over Tyler and the wraith that she couldn’t otherwise, before letting loose another blast of bolts when she was sure she wouldn’t accidentally hit Tyler.
Apparently, energy was better than swiping at that thing.
Luckily, Tyler couldn’t transform without a full moon. His eyes might turn yellow if he was under enough stress, his movements more feral, but the full transformation was impossible.
He had been focused enough on the wraith that he didn’t notice Blossom’s approach, and jumped slightly when a flash of pink energy sent the thing away from him. “There’s my girl,” Tyler said, turning away from the wraith to get a load of his badass girlfriend. “I’m going to leave that one to you,” he said. It rankled a little that he couldn’t do anything against it, but at least he could admit that much. Instead, he threw himself into one of the more solid demons that was making his way toward Blossom, landing on a table that collapsed under their weight.
“I think these things are going to keep coming until we can do something about that portal they’re spilling through,” Tyler said. “We should probably retreat before Chuck fires me for trashing the place.”
It did seem like they were going to keep coming, which wasn’t a good thing in the least but it did look like almost all of the people had gotten out safely, if a little bashed from it all. They could probably do without wrecking Tyler’s work though.
With the demons still coming through, the wraith like things taking more to zap to get them gone after a while, Blossom was inclined to agree with Tyler, “I’m thinking you’re right,” because they should probably get out of there before they needed to. Hopping off the stage to Tyler’s side, Blossom scanned around for any more remaining people that might need some assistance, finding that it was officially just them left.
“Let’s get outta here!”
Tyler couldn’t help but smiling when Blossom did another scan of the area for people caught up in all of this. God she was great, right down to her need to protect people. Of course, he probably shouldn’t expect anything less from someone who dreamed of being a superhero. He took her hand in his, and ran for the exit.
“I think after this, we deserve to sit on my couch and eat a tub of ice cream. What do you say?”
“Yes!” Blossom never turned down ice cream, or couch cuddles, “Haha, Netflix and chilly?” And she totally blushed a little at the implication off the slang behind Netflix and Chill, but it was funny, okay.
“Let’s go, before something else happens and ice cream is delayed. It’s definitely time to relax after defeating these uglies!”
Tyler snorted at Blossom’s pun, then slung an arm around her shoulders, pulling her closer and planting a kiss on the top of her head. “You’re adorable,” he said into her hair. Demons, Netflix and ice cream. Just another average day in the OC.
