Obi-Wan is aging surprisingly well (obi1) wrote in valarlogs,
It would have made Obi-Wan so sad, if he really believed Loras thought he had nothing to do with conjuring up the spirit of that smiling little boy. Perhaps it was impossible to see one's effect with true clarity, even if humility was not one of the younger man's stronger suits. Something else, Obi would have thought, was clouding Loras' judgement.
He stood in the doorway, wrinkling his nose and furrowing his brow. French horn? Why I haven't-- His own thoughts trailed off, as if he could hear them spoken by another who was suddenly at a loss.
"Oh... oh my god..." His voice was low, mostly breath, and his face took on more reactions and emotions than it could properly handle. Obi moved his hand to his mouth as he crossed the room. He plucked the paper from Loras' grip and, as he lowered his hand, for fraction of a moment, he was staring straight into a mirror, and that little boy was in the room. "You found this on Eton's site, didn't you?"
Obi brushed his free hand through his hair, which was decidedly on the longer side than how he had worn it at the age of fifteen. "I have to grow it out. Scottish hair. Highlanders. The thickest hair in the world." He sighed again. "Oh, it's a shame this is in black and white. You can't see how red it was back then."
