Going to lunch with one of her closest friends was always a win in Splendid's book. With life in the OC returning to normal, she'd hit Capable up to see when she wanted to go out, and they settled on a time a place. Splendid had been looking forward to it since they'd talked, and when the day finally arrived, time at her office seemed to drag right on by slowly. Finally she left the office, heading to the cafe that they'd agreed upon.

Walking in, Splendid glanced around, and gave a small wave when she caught sight of Capable. Making her way over to her, she grinned, and then leaned down to give her friend a hug. "Oh, it's so good to see you."

Capable had gotten to the cafe a little early so she’d gotten them some menu’s and found a nice seat too. When she saw Splendid she returned the hug and gave her a bright smile, “It’s good to see you too. Especially after the horrible few days we’ve had” she said, hunting down those creatures with Furiosa had been interesting but Capable wasn’t truly a fighter.

Splendid made a sound of agreement, "It has been rather horrible." Of course, she could only go by what she'd seen posted on the Network. Splendid herself hadn't gone out during the whole fiasco only because she hadn't wanted to get herself or someone else hurt. It was far easier to stay put in her opinion, especially since she didn't have much in the way of training. "But I'm glad that you all were safe. I believe, however, the Furiosa is right. I think it's time for us to find a place for us to live together. I know it would put my mind at ease." In the OC things could change in a heartbeat, and Splendid hated not knowing if her friends were safe or not. Sliding into a seat across from Capable, Splendid let out a long sigh. "So other than that, how have things been going?"

Capable herself had followed Furiosa’s lead and gone out to help those who were in trouble, it had felt good but not entirely comfortable at times. She couldn’t deny she’d been scared and worried. “Really!? She didn’t say anything but I would love that. Having you around all the time would be amazing” Capable adored this idea and wanted to move forward with it straight away. “Things are good, I think Myrcella might be leaving work soon so I might get more hours” She was hoping Tessa might take her full time which would be great.

Laughing Splendid nodded, "Yes, we were talking about that when everything was going on. I really do like the idea." She would be grateful to have them both around, and not have to worry about them when shit hit the fan in Orange County. "We'll have to start looking soon. Maybe the three of us can get together and see what we can find." It would also be good for Valerian, she thought, having them both around since he adored his 'aunts'. "Good, on both accounts. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll be able to get more hours." Money. It was the root of all evil, supposedly, but one had to have it in order to survive in this crazy world. "How have things been going with Furiosa?"

“I do too” Capable nodded, “That would be nice. It’ll be fun to look for a place for us all” she said, already looking forward to it. Looking would make it that much more real too. “Thank you, I’m sure Tessa will, she says I do good work there” Money may be the root of all evil but Capable was grateful for her job, she enjoyed it which she knew didn’t always happen. “Oh, they’re good. She can be really sweet, just don’t tell her I told you that”

Splendid couldn't agree more, and she was excited about the prospect of finding a place. "We'll set up a time this month to go looking. I'd like to wait until next month to move, since I don't want to be stressed about that and getting Valerian's first birthday party planned." Goodness, it was so hard to believe that her little man would be a year old soon. "I don't doubt that you do." All of her friends were hard workers that put a lot of their heart and soul into their work. Laughing, Splendid gave a nod and then made an X over her heart. "I promise, I'll never let her know that." She knew that she could be sweet, in her own Furiosa way that was. "I'm glad that they're going well." It made Splendid happy to know that her friends were happy.

“Of course. And if you need any help you know you can always ask, I can’t believe he’s going to be one already” she smiled, she did love the little boy, “We’ll make sure he has the best birthday ever” And focusing on that before their move would definitely be a good idea.

“How are things with you and Max?” she asked, “Have either of you admitted anything yet?”

"I'll probably be asking for help, since I have a feeling I'm going to need it." It really was hard to believe a year had passed already, Splendid wondered, if not for the first time, where the time went. "Oh, I have no doubts, and he'll be thrilled I'm sure." Her little boy, he seemed to appreciate everything even at such a young age.

She took in a deep breath, "Things are going well. We see each other when we can. I never push for anything because well, it's Max." She chuckled softly and shook her head, "No, not yet. He knows I care about him, and I know he cares about me and Valerian. Right now that's all I really need, you know?"

Capable would happily help out, she loved both Splendid and Valerian and thanks to the kids book group at the bookstore she was more confident with children now too. One of her favourite things was reading to them when it was story hour.

Smiling and nodding Capable listened, “If it makes you both happy then I think it’s perfect” she said, “I know he probably wouldn’t want to live with us all of the time but we’ll make sure there’s a room for Max in the new place too won’t we?” Capable adored Max in a kind of older brother way, he had such a kind soul and he was always very patient with her. She wanted him to know that he was always welcome, that their home would be his too whenever he wanted it.

Splendid smiled, "I am very happy." She was, for the first time in a very long time, and she believed that Max was happy as well. "I don't know if he will either or not, I can talk with him to see, but yes, I think that would be perfect." Splendid didn't think that the girls wouldn't allow Max to come over when he wanted. He was important to them, each in their own way, and so she was pleased that Capable thought along the same lines as her. The waitress came over, and Splendid realized she hadn't even a moment to look over the menu. "Um, I'd like a water please." She ordered at least her drink, and then finally picked up a menu. "Whoops, I got so caught up in catching up that I forgot that we were actually eating." She laughed softly with a shake of her head at herself.

“Great, I’m hoping that he’ll stop by more often once he gets used to the set up” Capable said, and with Splendid and Valerian there then it was more likely anyway. “Oh sorry, me too. Can we have a couple more minutes?” she asked with a smile picking up the menu and looking over it.

"I'm sure that he will." Splendid hoped that he would anyway, she truly did enjoy spending time with Max and she felt as if she didn't get to spend enough time with him. Perhaps that would change. She knew that he'd, at the very least, feel more comfortable with her living with Capable and Furiosa. The waitress walked away with smile, and a 'sure'. "Oh well, I'd rather spend time catching up anyway." She laughed, although she did settle on something after a few moments.

Capable decided too and once their order was placed she settled back in her seat, “I am glad we’ve found time to catch up. It’ll be so much better once we’re living together and everything” Capable said, she was looking forward to having dinner most nights all together and helping with the baby.

"Same here, and it will be." She was sincerely looking forward to them living together. It would make a lot of things easier, and they'd be able to spend more time with Valerian. He enjoyed spending time with his 'aunts', and Splendid wanted them all to spend more time together truly. "Other than enough bedrooms for all of us, is there anything in particular you'd like to look for in a house?"

“A little garden might be nice, we could get a swing for Valerian and if there’s enough room we could put some chairs and a table out there too” Capable suggested, the weather was always so nice in California that it seemed a shame not to take advantage of it.

Oh Splendid loved the idea of having a yard for Valerian to play in, and a little space for them to enjoy as well. "Yes, that's a definite yes on the list." She agreed with a nod. She didn't need much, not really. "We'll need a room for the piano." Splendid glanced over at Capable, "Or at least a place big enough for it." It'd been one of the first gifts she'd gotten from the dreams, it had been strange to find it in her smallish living area, but there it still sat and Valerian enjoyed listening to her play. One day she hoped to teach him how to play.

Capable nodded with a smile, “And space for bookcases” she said, “I’m taking over our bedroom with books, Furiosa says we’ll be sleeping on them soon” She knew her girlfriend was only teasing her though, she caught Furiosa looking at her with an indulgent smile whenever Capable was reading in their room.

With a laugh, Splendid nodded. "That we can do too. The two of you can take the master bedroom. I don't need much space, honestly, and well neither does Valerian really." He just did better in his own space. The few times that she'd had him sleep with her, he'd slept rather restlessly, so it was just better for him to have his own space. "I'll have to dive into your collection once we're living together. I've not actually sat down and read a book in...several months now."

“You’ll have more time when we’re together” Capable said, she wanted to help out Splendid more so she could have time for herself to do something she enjoyed. And spending time with Valerian was always a treat, she loved the little boy so much and she knew Furiosa did too.

Splendid glanced up as the waitress came back with their things, and she gave a small nod of thanks in her direction. "I don't doubt that, and Valerian will love spending more time with his aunties." Splendid gave Capable a bright smile, hoping that the other woman knew just how much she meant to her.
