Cosima Niehaus doesn't talk about Clone Club (geekmonkey) wrote in valarlogs,
Perhaps in the future, Cosima would gently breach the subject, but until then, she was content to simply making a new friend. She liked meeting people, and she'd need distractions and reminders that she was human as she worked on her dissertation. Even if she was convinced she'd be driven insane by it. If the dreams didn't do it first. But that would require her dreams starting up again.
"Mom's are totally good at that. My mom did the same thing when I was at the University of Minnesota." Cosima laughed, remembering her care packages from her mom. Especially when winter rolled around. She took the Feta chips and opened them. "Oh yeah, starving and clearly unable to cope with life. It's like they almost turn into grandmothers with the whole wanting to feed you at every turn." Cosima did appreciate it, though. She did miss her parents when she wasn't close to them. Orange County wasn't exactly all that near to San Francisco, but it was a hell of a lot closer than being in Minnesota.
"I totally get that. What are you majoring in this time around? And what did you go for the first time? And yeah, I am. Kind of one of those crazy ones that decided going for a doctorate was a brilliant idea. I'm just starting my dissertation, and it's kind of way intense and intimidating." Cosima bit off a piece of a chip, letting the taste set in a bit. "These aren't too bad, really. Though judging by your expression, yours is pretty terrible."
