Who: Anna of Arendelle and Yuffie Kisaragi
When: After Finals
Where: Ice Cream Parlor
What: Banana Splits!
Rating/Warnings: Low/None (c’mon, it’s Anna and Yuffie.)
Status: Complete!
“This should be a tradition.” Yuffie figured that as far as traditions for the successful (hopefully) completion of a final went, banana splits was a pretty good tradition to have.
She could do without the cream, but the ice cream and banana, sauce and cherry? That was just too good to pass up ever! “I mean, banana splits are awesome! This is the best post-finals day yet!”
And hey, Anna was always fun to hang out with.
So, finals came and went, and though there was a lingering fear in the back of Anna’s mind that she might have flubbed up a couple of things, she was feeling pretty good. It was as if a huge weight had been lifted from her shoulders. Having eight classes meant eight finals--some papers, some exams, whatever, but still all stressful. She was glad it was over.
“Oh my god, yes. I’ve been thinking about this for ages,” Anna beamed over at her friend. They were in the booth at the ice cream parlor, having ordered already, simply waiting for the sweet treats to arrive. “I can’t wait! Hot fudge here I come!”
Yuffie just giggled, she could already imagine a lot of the mess they could make with this stuff too. “Post-studying rewards for us!” Yuffie just grinned. At least that was a lot of their worries over until the end of the summer right? “Man, I don’t even know what I’m gonna do with myself now.”
And Yuffie only had a few classes, Anna had eight!!! “Although, well, maybe I could finish up my Huggable and market it, y’know?” She’d ordered a milkshake while waiting for her ice cream, swirling the straw around in the cream, “That might keep me outta trouble.” Not likely.
“Oh my gosh, I have so many books to read.” Anna may have gone a little pink at that admission. It wasn’t exactly normal for a twenty year old girl to be excited about reading, was it? “Because like… I didn’t have time to read anything for fun over the last few months. I did some reading at Christmas break, but…” She shrugged her shoulders.
“Oh yeah! You totally could!” Anna brightened as the waitress brought out their order and set it all on the table between them. She lifted her spoon. “Have you heard anything more from Tony Stark about that? I mean, the patents and all that stuff?”
Yuffie wasn’t the reading type, she didn’t really have the attention span for it, although she had tried. Every now and then there was a series she’d read through and enjoy, while she’d been travelling with her dad she’d read all the Narnia books. “That sounds like the perfect way to spend the summer, relaxing with some good books!” But that didn’t mean she couldn’t see the appeal for Anna. Reading for fun was probably a luxury when you were doing nothing but reading textbooks.
Of course the mention of Tony Stark had Yuffie beaming at their ice cream, she still hadn’t gotten over that and everyone in class had been asking her all these questions too. “Well, I mean, his company are sort of taking care of it for me, I mean, it’s all filed and stuff and I’m still not entirely clear on the process but one of the girls in their legal department is helping me out.”
Really, beyond the amazing turn and the small shift in mentoring from Stark, Yuffie was pretty sure the whole thing would help her figure out how to protect her ideas better. “I’m still pinching myself it’s so surreal.”
Anna loved seeing the brightness on her friend’s face at the mention of Tony Stark. It made the redhead happy to know that Yuffie was happy. Seemed like things were going well! And that was all Anna could ask for. “That’s amazing!” Anna said, then gave a little laugh. “I mean, what an incredible happenstance, you know? A random meeting led to all kinds of great things!” She lifted her spoon to cut into her banana. “You could go on that show… Shark Tank? I mean, They’d totally fund your company. Wait, do you have a company?”
“Nope,” Yuffie made a point of popping the ‘p’ while she munched on a bit of banana with flourish, “I have a brand -apparently I am my brand- but not a company. I’d be more of a think tanks sort of thing, you know? But I could totally pitch to Shark Tank. Since I have the patent now too, because I know that you really don’t wanna go on that show without one.”
But then, Yuffie wasn’t sure if she’d want to go on that show either. “But they seem a little mean.” Way meaner than Tony Stark, who totally just helped her out because she was there, and she guessed because he could, because he had nothing to do?
“I mean with Tony Stark backing you up… that’s pretty amazing. They’d be stupid not to throw money at you.” Anna said, nodding seriously. “...yeah, they can be pretty mean. Maybe you should just stick with Tony Stark. He seems like he’s much nicer than the shark guys.” She was digging into her ice cream between sentences, totally enjoying this post-finals celebration.
Yuffie would need to agree with Anna there, Tony Stark was way nicer than the Shark Tank guys. And weird as it was, since she’d only met him twice to go over things, Yuffie sort of trusted that he wasn’t doing this for any nefarious reason, he seemed to just want to help her make sure her ideas were safe. “I think I might, I mean… I’ll maybe see if he wants to maybe do something with the design, you know? Or if like… he could help me do something with it.”
It’d be kinda great, that was all she was saying, to have Stark backing on something.
“Hey, he offered to help, right?” Anna said, hopefully encouraging and not pressuring. She leaned back a little in her chair. There was a lot of ice cream on the table. They probably could have shared, but she was definitely up for this challenge. “You’ll have to let me know how it all goes. And when you make your millions of dollars, don’t forget the little people who helped you along the way.”
