Irisa was sat on the training mat after a long workout session with Alucard while she waited for him to return with some ice cold drink for her. He’d pushed her hard today, harder than any time before and while she had enjoyed it, she was exhausted now. She wondered if there was something behind Alucard pushing her so hard today, but decided to let him come to her and talk rather than pushing things. That never ended well.
Alucard had yet to reveal to Irisa that Integra had changed, or rather that he had been the one to change her. He’d been focusing on helping his beloved adjust and it was only when he had spoken to Athos that he realised he had been neglecting the girl.
Reappearing with the drink he moved to sit near her and passed it over, “You did well today”
“Thanks,” Irisa smiled as she took the glass and took a deep swallow from it. Finishing the drink off she gasped and wiped her mouth with the back of her hand as she put the glass down to one side. “I’ve been training hard. Athos is a hard task master. I think between the two of you I’m going end up in a grave,” she joked casually as she leaned back on her hands.
“Or stronger than ever” Alucard said, “We both know your limits, we’ll look after you” he added. Looking over at her almost fondly he began, “So you’ll have noticed Integra hasn’t been around much the last few weeks...”
Irisa watched him carefully, trying to gauge what he was going to tell her. Of course she’d noticed Integra’s absence, she looked up to the woman greatly. She hadn’t wanted to pry, but she was curious. “Is she ok? What’s happened?” she asked quietly.
“She’s okay but she was hurt in that stormtrooper attack and it caused a change in both of us. It became necessary to turn her into a vampire, something I myself am now fully too. But don’t worry, I won’t be sucking your blood anytime soon” he added to lighten the mood.
Irisa leaned forward with her elbows on her knees as she considered what he was telling her. “Well...shit…” she said, tipping a little smile his way. “Are you...ok? What’s it like? Do you feel different?” she asked.
“Pretty much” he agreed at her first reaction, “I’m fine. Honestly it felt natural. I feel more like me than before, which sounds strange but well the whole situation is strange”
Irisa nodded as he explained before she looked up at him, curious. “You’ve never really spoken much about your dreams. I mean, I know what you can do, but I didn’t really know why I guess. I haven’t wanted to poke my nose in or anything. I take it you and Integra are vampires in your Dreams too?” she ventured tentatively.
“I am the most powerful vampire. Originally named Vlad Dracula, until I was captured by the Hellsing’s, Integra’s ancestors. She runs the Hellsing organisation and I am, for lack of a better word, her pet vampire” he smirked a little as he said that.
Irisa digested what he told her, before realising that his name was a reflection of his Dream self. “Huh, I just figured out your name, that’s pretty clever,” she smiled. “So uh...Integra’s not a vampire in your Dreamworld I take it? What’s the Hellsing organisation? Some kind of business she runs or something?”
“Thank you” Alucard smirked, “No, not at all though not for lack of dream me trying. The Hellsing organisation protects Great Britain from any and all supernatural threats and Integra became the head of it all when she was thirteen years old”
“Thirteen?! Holy crap! What happened?” Irisa asked before she really thought about it. Not one of Irisa’s forte’s thinking before speaking, although Myrcella’s presence in her life must have been rubbing off on her because she was getting better.
“Her father died leaving her to inherit everything so her Uncle tried to kill her” Alucard said, “Luckily she made her way into the dungeon where I was being held. She woke me up, killed her uncle and I pledged myself to her”
“That’s...really sweet. I mean grim, don’t get me wrong, but sweet,” Irisa replied with a smile. She knew Alucard would do anything for Integra here and obviously that extended to the Dream world as well. “So I take it in the Dreams that you and she aren’t…y’know...” she trailed off suggestively with a vague wave of her hand.
“Getting it on or whatever the vernacular is” Alucard smirked, “No, we’re not, though of course it isn’t for lack of want or trying on my part” He should have known Irisa would see the good side of the bad things. She was much like him in some ways.
“Seriously dude? She was thirteen,” Irisa pointed out. “I know you’re immortal and age doesn’t really matter, but in some cases it does,” she teased with a little grin.
Alucard rolled his eyes, “When she blossomed into an adult, even I have my limits dear girl” he told her lips twitching in amusement.
“Yeah yeah, pervert,” Irisa teased and chuckled at him, bumping shoulders with him as she did. “So...she isn’t a vampire in the Dreams, how did she feel about becoming one here?”
“Cheeky” he said but it was with affection that he couldn’t keep from his voice. “She was far more open to it here than in the dreams. She is very much against it there but here it is very different. She is going to be even more magnificent”
Irisa smiled as she listened to him talk, the affection for his partner apparent in his voice. “What’s different between here and there?” She asked.
“Our relationship is different. She’s very dedicated to what her family has been tasked to do and her view of vampires isn’t exactly...kind” he smiled, “Here however we found we were in love before too much of the dreams occurred”
Irisa watched him as he spoke, saw the love in his eyes and knew it was reflected in Integra’s. “What’s it like? Being a vampire I mean,” she asked quietly.
“It feels normal now” Alucard said, “I feel powerful, confident, like myself”
“You don’t...y’know,” Irisa gestured vaguely to her neck with the fingers of her free hand. “Want to...drink my blood or anything, do you?” she asked carefully.
Alucard gave her a slow smile before shaking his head, “I don’t need to feed as regularly as Integra does and don’t worry your neck isn’t calling to me” he told her with a small smirk.
“Huh...ok,” Irisa shrugged, accepting what he said as truth. “But Integra’s gonna be ok, right?”
“She's going to be fine, and she won't eat you either” he added, “Now shall we continue?”
