Who: Pam and Chuck Bass What: Pam gets a new dream ability Where: Victrola When: Recently Rating: PG-13 for language and blood Status: Complete
It was mid-afternoon. Victrola wasn’t open yet, it wasn’t like a 24/7 strip club. It was a hot burlesque club, only open at night. But Chuck still found himself over there. He had stepped back a lot lately, letting Pam do her thing, but he still lied to watch the dancers rehearse. And talk with Pam before it got too crazy.
Chuck sat behind the bar nursing a scotch. “So,” he asked his fanged friend. “How are you managing those teeth?” They didn’t have to solely talk about work after all.
Pam didn’t honestly mind that Chuck came by just so he could watch the dancers. It made sense because they were incredibly attractive and he was allowed to inspect the people he employed. As long as he didn’t try to tell her how to run things then she would allow him to do whatever he wanted. When he mentioned her fangs she let out a groan of frustration, “Ugh. Let’s not talk about that. I’m fucking sick of them. I’ve cut my tongue more times than I can count.”
“Ouch,” Check replied with a frown. Getting fangs didn’t sound like fun at all and it was definitely something Chuck never wished to go through himself. Luckily his dreams were just about some bitch gossiping about him all over the internet. Which really wasn’t much of an issue for him. Chuck did love when people knew who he was.
“So you’re basically becoming a vampire?” he asked mostly for his own clarification. The whole thing was odd.
“I guess? I honestly have no idea what’s going on,” Pam wasn’t looking forward to anything else that would come along with it. She enjoyed eating food, going out in the sun, and not sleeping in the dirt, “I thought if I turned into one it would just happen, but it seems to be just a bit at a time.” She finished drying a glass and set it over by him on the bar.
“Well, just try not to scare the customers,” Chuck quipped. “But the employees are all yours,” he added with a smirk. He almost added that went for snacking too, but actually talking about Pam drinking blood? That was just too bizarre even for this place.
“Well, I appreciate that. I think I can handle scaring them since a handful of them are dreamers anyway,” she had explained the werewolf/Tyler situation to Chuck and she was pleased that he was okay with how he had handled it. She reached in to grab another glass out of the sink and let out a yelp and drew her hand back. One of the glasses had broken and she managed to cut herself fairly badly. But as she fumbled around for a clean dry towel she watched as the skin started to heal, “What the fu -- are you watching this?” She held her hand out for Chuck to see.
Chuck didn’t see Pam cut herself, but how could he not watch the healing process since she was flat out showing it to him. “What the fuck?” Chuck asked finishing off Pam’s thought. “How is that possible?” It had to be another vampire thing. That was the only real explanation. “Well, that’s better than fangs,” he offered with a smirk.
“I guess, but that’s fucking freaky. How in the hell am I healing right now?” she was flabbergasted by the turn of events. She knew that it was another vampire trait and she was afraid that it would mark her slow progression into an actual vampire. A frustrated noise escaped her lips as she reached into fish out the broken piece of glass and cut her hand again so they could watch.
Chuck almost stopped her when she went to cut herself on purpose. “Fuck if I know,” Chuck replied staring at her hand, practically mesmerized by the healing, but then had to look away. “I’ve seen and heard about a lot of insane things happening but this wins.”
“This is really not okay. I do not want to be a vampire,” Pam was fucking adamant about that one. The last thing she wanted was to deal with everything that came along with it. She tossed the piece of glass in the trash and fished out the broken glass from the sink with a frown, “ Can we switch places? I’ll deal with the fucking loser gossip girl and you can be a vampire.” As much as she didn’t want to be a teenager again her dreams it would be preferable to this.
“I’d be okay with that.” He honestly had no idea what all came with being a vampire, but he certainly wouldn’t mind the powers. Like the healing. And whatever other powers she got. Speaking of. “What else are you in for?”
“Strength, speed, I can glamour people to do what I want, and I hear rumors of some of the vampires being able to fly. But, I can’t go out in the sun and I have to be invited in place,” that would get a little sketchy around this place because she was constantly going into buildings. God that would be so annoying, “Aren’t you just your basic rich teen in your dreams and the gossipy bitch is just an annoyance?”
“It sounds like the perks outweigh the rest to me,” Chuck commented taking a sip of his drink. “Night life is better anyway,” he added before going on to answer her question about his dreams. “Yeah. That’s basically it. No vampires or ghosts for me,”
“Yours sounds way less complicated. Being a vampire comes with its own form of government. It’s a really weird place to be dreaming of. But we can definitely switch,” Pam smirked over at him as she finished up cleaning up everything and then poured herself a drink and topped his glass off, “Alright, you want to watch some girls or what?”
Chuck’s dreams were rather boring in comparison to everyone else. Hell they were boring for him too. It was just like reliving his high school days. But whatever. He wasn’t sure he’d want to be turned into some sort of supernatural creature anyway. Pam certainly didn’t seem to be enjoying it. “Always,” Chuck responded with a smirk. “And I am ordering you to take a break and join me.” She deserved it after all.
