"That does make sense." But it was clear that there was something to be said. Even in the dark, Annie had a (generally) good read on people. And just the previous month had managed to talk to someone, at the beach, who was struggling with something. Just as she felt then, sometimes it helped to have someone listen who had nothing to do with the situation, just to talk it out, even if it was in vague terms.
Wasn't that part of why she was out there? She couldn't go to Finnick because Caroline's secret was not hers to tell. She didn't know how Peeta would respond, and well... she still had to convince herself he hadn't lied to her and it was all jumbled. So she went swimming to clear her mind, though it hadn't really worked as well as she had wanted. The doubts and concerns still there. Just... distracted now that she was talking to this young woman, whom she couldn't see, which meant she wouldn't recognise her from the network.
Not that Annie spent much time on it these days. She didn't have much to say most of the time.
"Oh..." Well, she could certainly understand that. Seeing that she was probably going to be there for a bit, Annie sat down, staring at the ocean, the moon full so reflecting off the water.
"Those are always the worst. The choice between what's right for you versus what others expect from you."
