In a word, Raven was agitated. Though her version of agitated just meant locking herself in her room to mediate in her mirror instead of being 'social' in the fact that she would at least read in the main sitting room and be around, even if not exactly talkative as she wasn't talkative by nature. First it was the calling of birds of prey and seeing a fiery bird out of nowhere. But it hadn't felt quite like a vision, but not quite a dream either. However, when one dreamt of literal hell? It wasn't necessarily wise to rule out that fiery bird could just be tied to hell and the nightmares she was having within her dreams. The nightmares within her dreams had already left her on edge, if only because she knew how her life tended to play out. Evil father, wants to come and take over the world, she was the last piece of the puzzle. Add in some weird dream that didn't quite fit but had jolted her awake and she had been annoyed. Just because she didn't sleep much didn't mean that she was perfectly fine with it when her sleep was interrupted.
She'd gotten through the previous day though and no one had gotten hurt.
Then she'd had yet another series of dreams instead of nightmares that were on repeat. Her own. The ones from the dreams. The ones from her first set of dreams. Starfire had decided that they needed to have mandated fun after the fiasco that had been Damian's arrival and so they had gone to a carnival and, well, it had been fun in its own way. Except for the fact that while watching a dance off, a message started to spread. Children possessed briefly. People around her. Until she had left and gone to the hill where her brothers were waiting. The time was coming. Trigon wanted her. He wanted to take control again. Unwilling to accept that, she fought and it was being thrown into a tree that had woken her up.
This was not a good way to wake up. She hurt, felt off balance (something that had started once the new dream set happened thanks to the differences in abilities) and overall paranoid. It was something she wanted to ignore, it was just stupid residual dream feelings, it didn't mean anything. Besides. She had to get ready for work and deal with people who expected her to smile and be chipper and just ugh. She really should try to find a different job. But right. People.
Only throughout her shift, it was as if the message were coming through. She'd hear something that didn't sound quite right from a coworker or customer but when she asked for clarification, it was something else entirely, normal.
Great. I'm officially losing it.
Apparently her paranoia wasn't going to just go away. Which meant.... she was going to spend the rest of the day stalking her father. The fact it was Father's Day was not lost on Raven as she clocked out, and then used a portal to get to the house she hadn't lived in for over a year now. The part of herself that she ignored, the part that had loved him and just wanted to be loved back, not that it had ever been enough. Not that she would have ever followed him. She felt at war with herself and the dreams had made it spark again.
Not to mention the concern that one day, her father would turn into Trigon. He might not be on the network, but it was always something that was in the back of her mind, the concern that Orange County would be Orange County and something would happen. The fact there was a heat advisory in place just was a cruel taunt of Hell to Raven. She would be stupid to just brush it off as coincidence, even if that was what she was hoping for.
For now though (and the rest of the day), Raven would stick to the shadows where she belonged and keep tabs on her father. Just to make sure he didn't do something that would lead to disaster for everyone.
