Time to herself was rare these days, although Splendid wasn't complaining. She enjoyed motherhood far more than she'd expected to when she found out she was pregnant, and as the days turned into weeks, and the weeks turned into months she couldn't imagine her life without Valerian in it. He brought so much joy to her, and to others and was a light in all of the darkness that had surrounded her for too long.
As it was, Valerian was still at daycare, and Splendid had left work early due to having no patients to see. A stop by the grocery store was definitely in order since Valerian needed more baby food, and snacks and well her cabinets were looking a bit bare. Grabbing a cart, Splendid started working her way down the aisles, picking up a few things here and there. It really was a bad idea to come to the grocery store hungry, she thought, as more and more things found their way into her cart. Still, she kept moving on until she found herself in front of all of the various pasta noodles. Normally she would've just grabbed a few boxes of spaghetti noodles and called it a day, however, she was thinking of trying to make some stuffed shells for dinner one night.
Picking up a box, her brows furrowed slightly as she read the back. The ingredient list wasn't too bad, and it was something she could easily do or tweak to suit her needs. She stood still, eyes still scanning over the back of the box until she felt someone else's presence close by. She glanced over at them, an apologetic smile turning up the corners of her lips. "Sorry, I didn't mean to be in the way." She pushed her cart a little forward, placing the shells carefully down. "I was just trying to figure out what else I would need for stuffed shells."
