If asked how he was, Felix could honestly say that he was great. His dreams, while stressful at times weren’t horrible and he at least had Sarah and Cosima to work through them with when they were. Work was going well since there were always new parties to plan and of course the part of his life right now was Josh. His boyfriend might be plagued by horrible dreams, but when they were together that stuff didn’t seem to matter. Felix was glad that he was able to help soothe Josh after a particularly bad dream and was pretty sure that he was falling in love with the younger man, which was a whole new feeling for Felix. Knowing though how stressful Josh’s dream were, Felix didn’t want to say anything just yet; especially since their relationship was still new.

Felix had just finished up a meeting about an upcoming party he was planning and decided to stop for a cup of coffee before returning to the office; not that his business was in an actual office building or anything, but he still referred to it as the office sometimes.

Stepping into the closest Starbucks, Felix was about to get in line when he spotted a man who was quite familiar, sitting nearby. He’d only met his sister’s new boyfriend a handful of times, the first time a few weeks earlier in their kitchen one of the mornings he’d come home from Josh’s and then just recently at the black light rave. Deciding to say hello, Felix sauntered over and gracefully sank down into the seat across from the other man, “Hello, Johnny.”

John had been reading Scientific American and catching up on news in his field while enjoying a cup of coffee when his girlfriend’s brother approached him. They’d only met a couple of times before, but he seemed to be ok. He was pretty straight and didn’t really hold back with his opinions which John respected. Although he wished he wouldn’t call him Johnny. “Hey there Felix, what brings you to this end of town?” he asked cheerfully, folding the corner of the page of the magazine to mark his page. Taking a sip of his coffee, he let the other man reply.

“Just got out of a meeting with a client,” Felix said, gaze wandering over the various things on the table, partly curious as to what John had been doing when he’d arrived, “Reading anything interesting?” It was likely not something that Felix would find interesting, but that didn’t mean that someone else, like John, didn’t find it interesting.

John smiled at Felix as he watched the young man peruse the surroundings. “Just being a need I guess. The Cassini space probe found some interesting features on the face of Enceladus, a moon of Saturn, and they've been trying to figure out what they could be,” he told him, more than happy to talk about his passion with Felix, but knowing the other man probably didn't have his heart in it. “How did your meeting go? What outrageous idea have you got this time?” he asked with a grin.

Felix nodded in response to what John said despite the fact that he had no idea what he was talking about, “Well that sounds extremely interesting. To the right people anyway. To me it just sounded like something you’d hear in some sci fi movie or something.” He shrugged and leaned back in the chair, “It went well. Have a client who is getting married and her Maid of Honor wants to throw her the best hen party ever, so our client gave her our number.” Felix was going to have fun with this one.

John chuckled at Felix’s response. He figured the other man didn’t really care about the science story, but there weren’t all that many people he’d ever met who were as into it as John was. “Well, a lot of science fact came from science fiction. In this case, Enceladus could be another planet that could support life,” he shrugged, picking up his coffee again. “So what are your ideas for this party? You have a penchant for making them memorable after all,” he joked good-naturedly, taking a sip of his drink.

“If you want someone to talk science with, you should talk to Cosima. I’m sure the two of you would hit it off.” Felix loved Cosima, but sometimes she would also get on a bit of a tangent when it came to sciency stuff and he had no idea what she was talking about, but he had to admit that she was extremely adorable when she did get on those kicks.

In response to John’s question, Felix reached into his bag for the notebook of ideas he’d taken down while with the maid of honor, “There are too many to even start on.” He put the notebook down in front of John, “Obviously we’re not going to do all of that, but that’s some of the stuff she had in mind.” He would have to go through it and narrow it down then get back to her, “Speaking of parties, I wish I’d planned that black light rave. That was bloody fantastic.”

“Yeah, Sarah’s spoken a bit about her sister Cosima. I know she’s the more sciencey of them, but what’s she like?” John asked, curious about Sarah’s family. He never wanted to pry too much, knowing she was a pretty private person. He didn’t want to strike a nerve with his questions.

“Yeah, I’m still surprised that wasn’t one of yours, is there a bit of professional jealousy there, Felix?” he chuckled, casting his eye over Felix’s notes. It didn’t mean much to him, the closest he ever really got to having his own party was inviting his old college friends over to watch the Superbowl. Although with Felix around that could all change for this year, John thought to himself wryly.

“Cosima is a eccentric and a science nerd.” They might not have had the whole science thing in common, but Felix could relate to Cosima’s other eccentricities, which was probably why they got along so well. “She’s one of my favorite people.” Both in and out of the dreams.

Felix had never planned a rave like the black light paint one and he wouldn’t even know where to start, so while he wished he could plan something of that magnitude, he was more than fine with leaving it to someone else who seemed to know what they were doing there. “Not at all. I know I’m not the only party planner out there. Can’t get jealous over every party that my company doesn’t plan.”

“Sounds like my kind of girl,” John grinned. He did love to talk about science and he didn’t have all that many friends around that he could do that with. He’d have to see if they could arrange some kind of dinner party for all of them at some point in the future. “We’ll have to all get together and you can introduce me,” he suggested.

“Fair enough,” John shrugged. “So what else have you got coming up? How are things with Josh?” he asked.

“You can be sure we’ll do that.” Felix had a feeling that Cosima and John would get along well. He wondered if it would be weird for John though since she looked exactly like Sarah, but then again it was almost like they were just twins, which was how they explained things when they were out. “Not too much really. A few different jobs, but it’s all divvied up amongst my employees. And things with Josh are going well.” Felix couldn’t help but smile when he thought of his boyfriend. The whole boyfriend thing was still new to him, but he couldn’t imagine Josh not being his boyfriend.

John chuckled as Felix spoke and he shook his head. “Divvied up? I forget how English you are sometimes,” he told Felix with a grin. “Well I think you have the busiest life of all of us, so pick a date and see if you can arrange something with Cosima. Sound good?” he asked.

“I’ll make that happen then.” He’d text Cosima later on that night and see when she was available, “Well, I should let you get back to your reading. I just wanted to come in and say hello.” Felix got to his feet as effortlessly as he had sat down.

“Sounds great,” John grinned, looking down at his watch as Felix started to make a move. “That's ok, I need to get back to the office anyway. I feel the need to prepare a pop quiz for this afternoon’s class, they'll enjoy that,” he joked, standing up and picking up his coffee and tucking his magazine under his arm.
