Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Anna of Arendelle and Myrcella Baratheon
When: Some night in April
Where: Anna’s place
What: Hot tub!
Rating/Warnings: Low/None
Status: Complete

Anna was super excited to get to use the hot tub! It’d been far too long since she’d had the thing nice and hot, and she was looking forward to having a relaxing night. She’d set up some sangria with strawberries and orange slices (thanks to whoever left that white wine in the fridge!) and had some pitas and hummus for a sort of dinnerish. It was time to catch up with Myrcella. They hadn’t seen much of each other lately, and Anna was excited to hear how her friend was doing.

She pulled on her bathing suit and a robe, then lounged in the living room, waiting for her friend to arrive.

Myrcella couldn’t pass up the chance to catch up with her friend especially when Anna had mentioned the hot tub. Myrcella loved hot tubs, she loved the pampering part of it all which was partly why she had chosen the career she had. She had enjoyed visiting them with her mum since she was young and couldn’t imagine anything better than helping people relax.

Arriving she knocked on the door, her suit already on underneath her slacks and top, everything else she would need was in a bag slung over her shoulder.

Anna sprung up from the sofa to bounce to the door, then pulled it open and grinned at the sight of her friend there. “Hey!” She reached forward to pull Myrcella into a big hug. She was very much looking forward to climbing in the hot tub and putting the jets on. That was the best part, wasn’t it? The massaging jets? “How are you??” She asked, pulling Myrcella into the house.

“Hey Anna” Myrcella greeted returning her hug before following her inside, “I’m good thanks. Been working on my business plan today so I am ready to unwind a little” she admitted, “How are you?”

“Ha ha, yes!” Anna said, brightly, grinning, and nodded as she looped her arm through Myrcella’s to lead her back through the living room. “I’m so glad that I can help you relax after such a long stressful day!” Anna didn’t know much about business, but she couldn’t imagine it was stress-free to be working on it. “I’m good! Winter Quarter’s over, so I’m planning out how my Spring Quarter’s gonna go.” She was neck deep in school, like always.

“I am too, thank you so much for inviting me over. I’ve been looking forward to it all day” she smiled before laughing and shaking her head a little, “You never stop. I hope you’re taking less classes this time, you’ll end up giving yourself a bad back carrying all those books around otherwise” she teased a little.

“Me, too!” Anna agreed. She was quite agreeable, wasn’t she? She finally released Myrcella’s arm. “Oh, I’m still taking a full load, but I think I have more realistic expectations about what I can and can’t do with my time,” Anna explained. “Anyway, let’s have this conversation in the hot tub! Shall I pour the sangria?”

Both Myrcella and Anna were fairly happy and agreeable people, sometimes others might be happier if they followed their example. “Well that’s good then” she said before nodding, “Perfect” she said as they headed out that way, “Sangria sounds lovely” In fact this whole evening was going to be just what they needed.

Getting Myrcella and Anna together as friends meant that warmth and light spread through the whole room. They were both positive people, and they meshed well. It was a joy to Anna to spend time with her friend.

“Do you wanna go get your suit on?” Anna asked, moving to the kitchen to pour a couple of glasses of the sweetened wine. “Then we can jump right in the tub.”

“Already prepared” Myrcella said, removing her shirt to show her suit underneath, “I figured it would be easier and quicker” she grinned.

Anna laughed. “You’re like a Girl Scout.” She beamed at her friend, then pulled the sangria from the fridge and poured a couple of glasses. “Okay, here.” She held one glass out to Myrcella. “We don’t need to waste any more time! I’m so excited about the hot tub. It’s in my backyard, so you’d think I’d be in there more often… but I just don’t get out there as much as I’d like.”

“My cupboards would agree with you, the amount of cookies I have” Myrcella grinned before taking a glass with a ‘Thanks’. Myrcella laughed, “Then we obviously need to make this a more regular thing” she said as they made their way out there.

“Oh man. I still have a few boxes of Thin Mints,” Anna admitted, grinning sheepishly. “I don’t think it’ll last me through to next year.” She gave a little bob of her glass, a gentle “cheers,” then sipped on her way outside to the hot tub. “Oh man, yes, we absolutely do.”

“Yep thin mints and tagalongs are still safely in the cupboard, we’re trying to go easy on them. But next year is too much to hope for” Myrcella smiled, “Once a month? I think we should both be able to manage that right?” She said as they reached the hot tub.

“Absolutely.” Anna said, smiling over at her friend. She set her wine glass on the table beside a couple of clean, folded towels, then pulled off her robe and shoes to climb into the tub. Not before grabbing her glass again, though!

“Once a month seems like just the perfect amount of time…” And she sank down into the hot water, giving a little groan at how nice it felt.

Myrcella removed her clothing, laying it neatly on top of her bag before taking her own glass and joining Anna in the water, “Oh this is heaven” she said sinking into the water with a smile.

“Isn’t it great? Seriously, I should spend way more time in here than I do. It just feels like a hassle. I almost inevitably get my hair wet, then I have to take a shower to wash out the chlorine.” Anna sighed. “Oh, First World Problems.” But it was a good point; they were in a drought in California. Taking more than one shower per day was excessive and wasteful.

Myrcella smiled, “You could always go in here at the end of the day and have your shower afterwards, that way you aren’t using too much water” she suggested as she let the water ease her muscles.

“That’s true… I normally take my showers in the mornings, though. To help wake me up! It’s better than a cup of coffee,” Anna admitted. “But I might try it like that if I don’t have a morning class to get to.”

“I do the same” Myrcella admitted with a smile, “It’s definitely a good wake up call. And it means I can do my hair for the day”

“Your hair always looks so nice.” Anna said, smiling at her friend. “But I sleep in so much… mornings are hard! If I don’t get my shower in the mornings… maybe I’ll ask Stefan if he can put the coffee on first thing in the morning. Maybe having a cup would be almost as good?”

“Thank you Anna, I love the colour of yours. It’s beautiful” Myrcella said, “That might work. Give it a go and if not then at least you tried right?”

“Aww, thank you!” Anna said, genuinely flattered and pleased that Myrcella liked her hair. “You’re absolutely right. And I should tell my roommates I’m planning on doing the hot tub at night more often.. They can come out and enjoy it with me.” It’d be silly to heat the whole hot tub for only one person, right?

“I think that’s a lovely idea, it’s always good to relax with friends” Myrcella said, “And you might find that being able to do that outweighs the inconvenience of having to shower at night too” she smiled.

Anna grinned. “Yes.” She sipped from her wine glass, then leaned back in the hot water. “It’s really good to get to hang out. How are things with Jeremy? I want to hear everything.”

“Things are going great. We still love living together and we haven’t driven Irisa insane with our lovey dovey couple stuff so we must be doing pretty good” she smiled, “Dragon is still a silly puppy but we wear him out running along the beach so that works out well”

Anna laughed. “That’s good! Not driving people insane is good.” She beamed at her friend. “You guys have the cutest little family! I love it. I wish I could have a pet, but it might not be the best idea with …” She’d hate for Stefan to lose control or something and eat her cat. Not that she really thought it was a possibility? But she couldn’t get that fear out of the back of her head. “My roommate’s allergic.” Anna was a terrible liar.

“Thank you so much, I’m rather fond of them too” she smiled sipping her drink, “Oh dear, that is a shame. But you can come over any time you like and play with Dragon, he loves company”

“I’d like that a lot! I really love walking dogs,” Anna smiled, too. It was great to have the time with her friend. “I’ve been walking dogs for some people lately… kind of like professionally? But I’ve had to cut back since I took so many classes last quarter… I might be able to get back to it, though.”

“It’s a lovely thing to do I think for you and the animals” Myrcella said, “Dragon adores his walks, Jeremy and I take him at least once a day, more if we can. Irisa helps out too” Their home was actually fairly harmonious compared to some and she knew it was because they all got along.

“That’s good! I know how much dogs like to walk.” Anna said, smiling warmly. She leaned her head back against the side of the hot tub and let her body float in the bubbly, hot water. “Maybe one day I’ll get to have a dog here at the house. Maybe I’ll bring it up with my roommates again. You guys are having a lot of luck with Dragon.”

“Dragon is a pretty good dog. He chews things occasionally but as long as his chew toys are around he will go for those first and my shoes second” she grinned, “He’s a silly thing but we wouldn’t be without him now”

“Well, that’s the way it should be!” Anna said, grinning. She took another sip from her glass, feeling the alcohol warming her, the hot tub warming her, the sunshine warming her face. Today was turning out to be a perfect day. “You’re so sweet. Thanks for coming over today.”
