When Haruka and Michiru had come back from Japan with those mysterious items, Setsuna honestly hadn't known what to make of them. There'd been the occasional flashes of them, in that cathedral, but... no names, no purposes, just the image of the sword and the mirror hovering before them.
After one of her 'dates' with Rarity, she'd awoken to something incredibly strange leaning against her bedside table. The orb on the end of the staff seemed to glow with an unearthly light, strings of strange characters carved on the inside of the orb's 'cage'.
It seemed almost like a key... maybe it was linked to that door that seemed to pop up in her dreams, again and again? It certainly seemed to match, and the end did jut out like a key would.
She reached out for it, and the moment her fingers brushed the metal, she had to yank it back, images racing through her mind. They faded almost instantaneously, but... the images of that woman all in white, were the last to go. What was this thing?
Slowly moving to get out of bed, she steeled herself and took hold of the key, willing herself not to get shocked into letting go again. The images came thick and fast – the Moon, a beautiful Kingdom, a Prince of the Earth and the Princess of the Moon, then... disaster. Eight Sailor Soldiers felled by evil forces, the world as they knew it destroyed.
She wrenched her hand away, eyes wide, and made to grab her phone. Haruka and Michiru had to hear about this... even as the flood of images faded from her mind, she knew they'd at least be interested in the Key itself.
Especially if it was linked to their Sword and Mirror like she suspected it was. Maybe putting the three of them together somewhere would make something interesting happen? There was only one way to find out.
