"Sometimes people change," Rosalind said softly. She was in the process of trying to revamp herself, after all. The move to Orange County was the first step in her big plan, and she was determined to make it work. But she found the more she tried the more she slipped back into her old ways. The long hours with work, the excessive amount of coffee, the stories that she was far too invested in. "If they want to, that is," she said with a grin. Ever the idealist, Rosalind was.
She laughed again, and nodded her head. "Yeah, really. Don't look so surprised," she said to him. She picked up her coffee, and took a big drink before she put it down. "And you know what? The next time you're going to have one of these with me," she said with a quick tilt of her head toward her drink. Yes, in a roundabout way she was asking him out to coffee; or suggesting it. It didn't make sense for a barista to want to go out for coffee as he was surrounded by it daily, but it was something to do. It had brought them to this moment they were sharing, hadn't it?
